We spent 10 days in this hotel with a small kid (1 y) in September. The rooms are clean, all facilities (swimming pool, aqua park) very well maintained. The food is pretty good as well, a lot of different meals with a good quality. However the best thing was the staff, very friendly & helpful - big thanks to George and Helen from main restaurant (Posto 4) for amazing time there & Jorge (i hope i am correct) from Thalassa Bar.

We stayed here as a couple with two children, 9 & 1yrs - during the Covid-19 pandemic, for two weeks in August, peak season. Covid Safety: 10/10. Not that I’m too focussed on this but if it’s a concern, you needn’t worry. High frequency touch points were cleaned extremely often, pool staff would sanitise loungers when families moved on, restaurants, bedrooms, all spotless and cleaned frequently. All staff with masks and hand sanitiser everywhere. We were tested upon arrival at the airport, honestly, zero concerns here and hindsight shows a clean bill of health coming back. Kids: Had everything. The water park on-site was exclusively for the hotel and had ample slides to occupy our attention for two weeks. Great fun. Snack bar at the water park was also nice. Kids club was great. Evening entertainment consisted of music routines for the kids, then a show, then a movie, all in a great amphitheatre. There is mini golf, daytime entertainment, loads of floats and things to borrow from the animation team - it’s really awesome. Spa & gym: we used this about four times. Treatments were great and while the indoor pool was closed, the gym was well stocked for a hotel gym and had everything you’d need. Pools: I’m sure we counted 14. The complex is integrated with the adjacent (and lesser) Stella Village and the Palace can use the Village but the Village can’t use the Palace. Next door is also Stella Island. You can’t go to Stella Island but the complex is so vast we only just managed to get around it all by the last day! Loads of sun loungers, no selfish people putting towels out early and the staff had a FANTASTIC clipboard and towel folding system in place which was genuinely brilliant to see in action. Our youngest didn’t sleep too well so ‘Dawn patrol’ was a regular thing and we spotted some people putting towels out at 4am, which were promptly removed by hotel staff within an hour, starting at 7am! Food: We smashed all the restaurants and the food was awesome. The main buffet (Poseidon restaurant?) was large enough to actually make all inclusive buffet eating a pleasant experience. Eye watering variety of food on offer and all exceptionally high quality. Then for lunch we largely used the buffet down by the beach, which is part of Stella Village but easily the best lunch spot available. Dinners were either back to Poseidon or one of three a la carte, Greek, Asian, Italian. The Greek was incredible, so much more than “Just gyros” it was really varied, intricate cuisine. The Asian was nothing short of astonishing. Better than your favourite local Chinese at home! The Italian was just ok. Nice for the views and dining experience but fairly basic food. Snack bars across the complex with a daily trip to the Swiss one for some chocolate waffles!! Luxury: Stunning complex. Manicured, beautifully designed, clean, high end sun beds, really impressive. Beach: Small but pleasant. Sandy. In a private, sheltered harbour which was really lovely and made the waves very gentle. Water sports are a short walk away. Crete: Dead. The island itself had nothing going for it and the local area was also very dull. The hotel is 10/10 but there are better islands to visit in Greece. We did all the local stuff, the land train, the old town, I (sadly) wouldn’t recommend any of it. The local people are wonderful, the local red wine is wonderful, but it’s missing an “Old Town” and some quality excursions. My hope is these develop more over the next 5-10 years so it really becomes one of the premier islands to visit. Overall, I’d MASSIVELY recommend it if you’ve never been to Crete before, I probably wouldn’t go again (Although I’d stay at Stella Island without the kids in a heart beat 😂)

I stayed here twice: once with 2 friends, and once with my family with 2 kids (1 and 2 yr old). I loved it both times. Great atmosphere, clean spacious rooms, fun animation (for kids and adults), friendly staff, absolutely gorgious and relaxing pools, ... They went all the way to keep our baby happy (delivery of baby food twice a day at our room without extra charge for ex.). The water park is also great fun for kids and adults! Would love to come here again one day!

We stayed in this hotel in October half term and cannot rate it enough! The rooms were spotless, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the entertainment was great, the food was so fresh and full of variety. There was plenty to do in the hotel, daytime and nighttime. My son absolutely loved the animation team and the kids club. I can’t thank the girls enough they really made his holiday perfect! I must thank the guy from the arcade, my 6 year old was in there every night and even when he didn’t win the guy gave him a little toy. The restaurants were lovely; the waiting on staff were very helpful and accommodating. The Asian one was our favourite! The drinks were good didn’t taste watered down or from a mix. The hotel atmosphere was buzzing. Definitely the best holiday we’ve been on! We were gutted we had to leave and are looking to stay next year. Thank you to everyone at Stella Palace!

Can’t speak highly enough of this hotel. From the moment we arrived until the day we left we couldn’t have felt more relaxed or welcomed. Really nice hotel, amazing variety of food, lots of nice areas to sit and relax and enjoy a drink or watch the world go by. Speciality restaurants are well worth going to, book in good time though as I think they get booked up fairly quickly. This was a big hotel but didn’t feel that way as it was thoughtfully laid out. The F & B Manager, Pantelis Tzedakis, was so nice, friendly and very attentive to our needs, regularly checking how we were getting on and making sure that we were having a nice time. Also well deserving of a mention were, Marina and Maria in the main restaurant, very happy and always welcoming to us. Maria thank you so much for your friendship and your Olive Oil - think my cooking might have even improved 😂😂. Irina and Giorgio in the Elia restaurant who looked after us really well. Katerina at welcome, always a friendly chat at the door on the way in to the restaurant. Manos and Giannis at the bar, good fun, hope you spare a thought for us when we are up to our knees in snow!! All the staff are a real credit to the hotel and couldn’t have done any more. Certainly hope to return in the future. Thank you so much for an amazing holiday - just what we needed!!
