We visited Stella Island in October 2020 for 10 days all inclusive and it was worth every penny and more. From the minute we got there they offered us complimentary drinks and took our cases to our room. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was fantastic, with a very large variety for breakfast and something new every night for dinner. We visited all of the A la Carte restaurants which were outstanding - our favourite was Umami. Entertainment was lively but after 7 days it goes back to the same schedule, so if you're there longer than a week you may see some repeats, but it's fine after a few cocktails down. We can not fault the room, it was so clean and tidy, the mini bar was restocked everyday and our favourite part was the room service! If you needed anything they'd always accommodate! We needed more clothe hangers and an iron and they came to our room within half an hour with the extras we requested. We did some excursions whilst staying there, including a trip to the cretaqauirum and a buggy safari trip and visited an olive factory, which were also great experiences. We can't wait to come back in 2021.. can't recommend this hotel enough.. just book :)…
An escape from pandemic restrictions. Out,of season and therefore the general area was closed down. The hotel is lovely and beautifully designed with lots of space. There are islands within the pool network which are very attractive. All restaurants were open and safety procedures rigorously followed. The main buffet was acceptable and breakfast particularly good. We had a superior room which was very comfortable. Would like to go again at a better time of year when we were more able to access the general area.
Stella Island is the most luxurious and fantastic resort I've been to. From the moment we arrived we were treated like 5 star guests. All the staff were kind and courteous. They were always happy to help. Everyone was so nice!! There was always thought with every interaction and they anticipated our needs so well. There were so many small touches that made everything about our stay as smooth as it could be. A true sign of a 5 star luxury resort. The grounds were beautiful! It's so stunning and the pictures do not even do it justice! We went in November, so the water was cold and no one was swimming, but that's probably expected everywhere in Crete at this time. Sadly the indoor spa pool was closed due to COVID, but it looked lush. The food was incredible. My partner and I would consider ourselves food snobs and we were very impressed (granted we never tried to buffet). We stayed in a swim up room and it was amazing. Like other reviews said you only get a few hours of sun (ours was in the morning - the other side would get it in the afternoon), but there were plenty of sun loungers to go to if you were desperate to get some sun. My only criticism for the room would be the lack of hooks for jackets, bathrobe or towels by the bathroom - if they were ever looking for something to improve on. They had one outside for the swim suits. Otherwise the room was gorgeous and very peaceful. The decor was lovely. I've been to several Carribean/Mexican all-inclusives and honestly Stella Island blew me away! It's the best all-inclusive I have been to!! Sadly due to the Greek lockdown and our flights being cancelled left right and centre, we had to end our trip many days too short. We only managed a couple days of our holiday here. From this the hotel was very understanding, they gave us a voucher to come back for the days we missed (which given we were attempting travel during a pandemic I think is very fair and generous!). Also fantastic, as we can't wait to come back and stay longer! Though we only had a brief stay, we are very excited to come back next year.…
Its taken me a while to write this review but I felt compelled to do so. If you're like me, you'd have already spent a lot of time on TripAdvisor and Instagram eyeing up the beautiful pictures of the resort and therefore have high expectations of what to expect upon arrival. Let me tell you, it does not disappoint. From the moment we walked through the entrance we were greeted to breathtaking scenes and fab service. We were sat down with a non-alcoholic cocktail whilst we waited for the independent check in which gave me time to walk to the front of the reception and get my first real view of that part of the resort and it was everything and more. Unfortunately check in took about an hour as we sat and watched other come and go which was disconcerting, but I needn't have been worried as it became evident that the resort had done everything they could to fulfil my request for the room I'd made in advance. I've no qualms about the wait when my request had been met, most people were checked in within 20 mins and we actually arrived before check in time of 3pm so I wouldnt be too worried. They also kept us topped with drinks whilst we waited. Upon checking into the room it was all I had wanted. We had a premium swim up room and had some fizz, fruit and sweet treats set up to greet us. What more could you want? So we set about sunning ourselves. We were all inclusive on this trip and I have the say that for a European All Inclusive, the drink selection is fantastic. Sure its not all the high end spirits you'd get in the Caribbean but there was enough Aperol Spritz to keep me going so I was content! The food was incredible regardless of where we ate, but kudos to the a la carte restaurants which were all amazing. It was our anniversary whilst we were there an they kindly decorated our table for us and gave us a window seat to watch the unreal sunsets. I was a particular fab of dining at the main pool bar...give me Chicken gyro and greek salad any day! Where our room was situated meant we didn't really have any bar service as we utilised our sun deck most of the day. This meant we had to go to the bar when wanting drinks which was a swim around the pool. We had a float that allowed us to get a few drinks at a time and could swim them back so it wasn't a problem for the most part. We did a couples massage at the spa followed by a private jacuzzi, fizz and fruits. It was unreal and I have to say the prices were extremely reasonable. Ive seen a lot of resort spa prices all over the world and these were by far some of the best and it was a great experience. Not to mention the general beauty of the spa. It was just such a shame the glass pool and stine jacuzzi were shut as they looked fab. I Would recommend visiting the spa. I think my favourite thing about the whole place was the ambience. No big parties, the evening entertainment was chilled and incredibly enjoyable and the chill out music that was played around the resort during the day was just perfect. Our week was genuinely the quickest wee holiday we've ever had and nn our last day we weren't due to leave until 9pm. The day before I went to reception to check if we could have our room for the day and was asked if everything had been OK. Of course I said it had been amazing but there was one thing that had bothered me. When the receptionist probed further I explained that given we had no bar service on our balcony we were swimming to the bar but on a lot of occasion was putting in my drinks order and being asked to step back and wait. Not a problem in COVID times of course. But whilst I'm stood there, in my swimming costume soaking wet, others were going straight to the bar, placing orders and getting served. It was one thing having to get our own drinks whilst everyone utilising the sunbeds was receiving drinks service but for me to have to stand there and watched others get served whilst I was patiently waiting was incredibly irritating. Unfortunately a comment was then made by the receptionist that quite frankly, was patronised and the situation went from a little bug bear that I wasn't even going to comment on to a very angry hotel resident just wanting to know if she could keep her room. The manager then came over and to be fair, he did a great job in resolving the situation, asking me about my thoughts on hotel improvements and potential developments and then confirming we coukd stay in our room (which by the way was a blessing). The receptionist also apologised and I know it was never meant to be patronising so apology accepted. She was genuinely lovely and I think a little upset that she thought she'd upset me. A long review I know but it really doesn't do it justice. A few shout outs to Efi, Antonis and Theothanis at the Cabanna bar where we spent a lot of our time and Maro on reception and of course the manager. I wish I could remember the names of everyone we met as they were all incredible and made our stay so great.…
Cannot speak highly enough of this resort, from the moment we arrived we were able to relax. Christos, Anastacia, Ioanna and the f&b team looked after our every need, even my no meat or dairy special dietary, and the waitress service was quick and unfussy. We'll be back in the Summer.
