If you are a nature lover this is the place. Surrounded by tea plantations with lots of birds. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Food was plentiful and delicious. Pity we only stayed one day..

I will start this off on a positive note by saying that the food here was absolutely delicious, and ranked favorably with the best I experienced in Sri Lanka. Really, really good! And the staff was very nice and helpful. But... my room was dark and dungeon-like, the lodge is a goodly distance from Sinharaja with far less quality rainforest...

Arrived during a thunderstorm and spent the first evening watching the storm and enjoying a delicious local meal. Awoke the next morning to a beautiful sunrise and the sounds of the rainforest. The location is fantastic, the food is delicious and the staff superb. It is the perfect place to relax and be immersed in nature. I understand the reason...

My wife and I stayed here as part of a bird watching trip to Sri Lanka and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lodge has a lot of 'rustic charm. Our room was large with great views over a tea plantation to the hills beyond. We could sit on comfotable cushions on our 'balcony' and relax. We saw several interesting...

Quite a difficult place to find if you're coming from the Udawalawe direction, our driver is very experienced and even he had to ask directions several times. When you reach the village (Waddagala) there is only a small track leading up to the hotel, not passable in an ordinary saloon car. The driver did try several times to telephone the...

We presume that this is the same resort we know as Rain Forest Edge in Sinharaja. Great resort, indeed onnthe edge of Sinharaja National Park. The resort lies up on a hill only accessible by three-wheeler. Very nice resort and very friendly staff. Special attendance as with one other couple we were the only guests. Big rooms with a great...

Rainforest Edge is a real far-from-the-madding-crowd place, yet is handy for access into the Sinharaja Rianforest Reserve, a fascinating place. Our driver liaised with the staff for them to come the last (1/2 mile? mile?) via tuktuk to pick us and our luggage up - and up we went to this haven of quiet peace and tranquillity with stunning views...

Well worth staying here, the hotel and the staff are delightful and couldn't be more helpful. This is probably one of very few environmental neutral hotels. The food here is amazing, just the best. Tranquillity is what you become aware of after a short time.

I have read so many reviews on Rainforest Edge all about the road, the pool, and it being basic. I have a feeling most of these people writing such reviews had no idea of what they were booking or where they were going. It's an Eco lodge in the rain forest and it is a very good one at that....
