Welcomed by a friendly staff who worked both at the desk and the restaurants as the hotel was not very busy. Bedroom was nice, clean and very comfortable. They forgot to put shower towel in our room but that did not stop us to enjoy our stay. The hotel has its own restaurant, where we dined. I enjoyed my veggie...

We found Solar de Boaventura a charming, wonderful, well-run small hotel with simple, but good rooms, an excellent restaurant and a beautiful garden. The setting is quite spectacular: It's at the foot of mountains and overlooks the sea. The trip by bus to this area alone was a treat: Came from Funchal over the mountains through laurel forest. Enjoyed the...

Spent one night on the northern Madeira coast. Solar Boaventura is one of the few places that you can stay at along the coast and is reminiscent of the 1950s. Quaint, cozy and quiet. A nice stop for a one night stay. less than a kilometer away going toward the ocean is a beautiful look out worth a stop. The...

It was so nice staying there. Everything was very uncomplicated, and everyone was very kind. There was a kind of family-atmosphere at the hotel, both among the visitors, but also between us and the staff. We would happily do it again!

This is a small hotel and part of the building is very old but has been cleverly enlarged. We were well looked after, Madeleine and Sonia could not have been more helpful and so friendly. Ideally one needs a car because it is some distance from any shops etc., many people go there to walk. The beds are made up...

A great location to explore the north coast of Madeira. Whilst we are not hikers we noticed several guests were, and read it was great place to walk in the hills and levadas. Hotel was very clean, well appointed and comfortable. There was a lot of sitting space outside the bedroom in the communal lounge areas in the covered winter...

Very good value at Eur 45 for clean double room. Tasteful decoration everywhere. Didn't have dinner there but Sao Cristovao restaurant down towards sea was also excellent. Ground floor room had patio - pity it didn't stop raining! Very weak wi fi signal in room though.

Very lovely hotel. Stayed for two nights, the room was very comfortable. The outdoor areas are very relaxing and have a lot places to sit, the indoor areas area also very pleasant and with several places to sit. It has wifi although the signal wasn't very good in our room. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We felt very welcomed....

Lovely hotel in the north of the island. Stayed here for 11 nights and very comfortable. Spacious rooms and public areas with plenty of places to sit inside or out. Very friendly staff spoke excellent English. Food in restaurant and service of a very high standard with bigger than average portions. Free WiFi in public areas but bit patchy in...

The Solar de Boaventura was a very pleasant hotel to stay for a week. The staff were very helpful when we contacted them to let them know we would be very late due a flight delay. The staff had left us a salad, buns and water in our room. Fortunately, we had a hire car booked and had 'google earthed'...
