Very fair price, excellent food (Rösti!), fantastic wintergarden-like dining, sunny terrace. You can walk out rightaway for short or long hikes or ski (alpine and cross-country). A car-free and sustainable accomodation which is nevertheless easily reachable by public transport. As the hotel was not full, we were offered a room with bath at the price of one with service on... Huge Rôschti, salads and nut croissants. The latter are well-known among skiers. We came on snow shoes from Blatten, really nice tour with terrific views. I have not seen the rooms but if they are as nice as the restaurant, they should be recommended as it must be great to stay on the slopes, literally!

The location of the hotel is simply outstanding. To wake up to the most magnificent view of the mountains and Aletsch glacier is a once in a lifetime treat. The rooms however, are simple and the soundproofing is not great. If this matters to you, then this hotel may disappoint. We enjoyed the half board menu and thought it was... More

We were there for our son's wedding for the weekend in July. It has the most spectacular view of all the hotels we stayed at. The air you breath is PURE clean and best for your health as well as the water, straight from the Alps. Rooms were on the second and third floor but no lift so you had... More

We disappeared into the cloud on the cable car and arrived in the rain (an easy 30 minute walk). By the time we had dinner the clouds started to melt away and reveal the spectacular views of the valley and the glacier. The food was excellent, the staff welcoming and helpful and the 6 hour hike we took the following... More

Great location, on the edge of Belalp with views across the mountains and the Aletsch glacier which is just next to the hotel! Beautiful terrace and restaurant to relax on. The handful of new rooms are very nice, though a bit hot and with very uncomfortable pillows. Dinner and breakfast are both excellent with a large selection of local products.... More

Hotel Belalp commands outstanding views across the valley and the glacier. It is extremely comfortable and cosy and has very friendly staff. Guests are spoilt with beautiful vistas as they relax both indoors and outdoors. It is also a very inviting spot for walkers who can reward themselves after a fabulous walk down to the suspended bridge. Access to the... More

Forget about your car. You have to walk to this place, which lies direct on the edge of the plateau with an incredible view on to the Aletschglacier to the East, and the Alps to the South, including the Matterhorn. D'ont look for a TV or Radio in the room. The spectacle of the glacier, the Alps, the animals (domestic... More

We stayed one night and had dinner and breakfast. Dinner was very good and service was reliable. Breakfast was a typical Swiss buffet with breads, yogurt, musli, eggs, meat, etc. Everything was fresh and good. The rooms were comfortable but a little warm. We did need to leave the window open and so we heard the cow bells most of... More

The location is simply breathtaking. On one side you can see the Matterhorn in the distance across the valley, on the other you are looking over the majestic Aletsch glacier. A tricky decision for which view to ask for, but then again it is simple - you cannot go wrong with either choice! A recent addition to the hotel is... More
