We arrived at Beggars Bridge after being caught in a terrific downpour. The reception, however, made up for it. Offering us a place to dry all our kit and directing us straight to our room where could take advantage of the excellent en-suite. We were then given a round of drinks and cakes which was brilliant. The breakfast was top...

After a long hiking day on the 11th (of 12) days on the Coast to Coast, it took about 20 minutes more to get to the Beggars Bridge B&B after entering Glaisdale...but it was worth it! Not only was the place comfortable and cozy, but the location was only steps away from the actual start of the next day's hike....

We stayed here on our coast to coast walk. We received a good welcome by Jean with tea and cakes. The rooms were spotless and comfortable with en suite. The B&B is close to the railway be we heard no trains during our stay. It is a short walk to the local pub for the evening meal. The breakfast had...

Great welcome with tea and tea cakes from Joan on arrival set the tone. We had a lovely room looking out on the river and despite being next to the railway line we heard nothing all night - this is the Esk valley line and not overly busy - certainly not on a Saturday. very nice room and ensuite bathroom....

This spacious detached house is set up a driveway to the side of a rural railway halt and offers good accommodation for guests with comfortable rooms, a resident’s lounge, several outdoor sitting areas and a conservatory for breakfasts served at individual table. Jean, the hostess, was most welcoming and the stopover was extremely enjoyable. We stayed here for one night...

Stayed here during my C2C. After a very warm welcome I was served tea and biscuits in the conservatory overlooking the bridge. My room was spotless, well equipped and there was limitless instant hot water. The bed was extremely comfortable ensuring a good sleep. The choice for breakfast was vast and all the food was prepared very fresh and expertly....

I share the feelings of the other reviewers of this property. A friendly welcome and a pot of tea and cake in the conservatory on arrival. A lovely location across from the Beggars Bridge and right on the C2C trail. Bright, airy room with a very comfortable bed. What more can you ask for.? Saw the rail line on arrival...

What a lovely B&B. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly but not intrusive. We were welcomed with a tray of tea and biscuits (we were offered cake or toasted teacakes but we'd just had lunch!) which we had in the conservatory overlooking Beggards Bridge. The house is in an idyllic location, ok the railway runs beside it but that...

I turned up at the B&B soaked after an afternoon walking in the rain, was given a very warm welcome. Fantastic location, close to the bridge and near the pub. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and had a nice packed lunch to set me on the way for the final days walk. On of the best B&B...

You over look Beggars Bridge from your room and the Conservatory while having our Cake and Tea on arrival. Pub for evening meal 2 minute walk. Breakfast was again excellent. You can catch local steam train if you want to stay and break up a walking holiday. Perfect!
