Kostas couldn't do more for us. He got us a hire car for 2 days slightly cheaper than the local garage could do. He did the transfers to and from the airport and the food his mother provided in the set meal every evening was brilliant and genuine Greek fare. The pool was great and the room, which was cleaned... We sadly only stayed for a few days, but we had a lovely time. The staff is incredibly friendly and considerate; they gave us a lovely big room with a nice view. The hotel is very clean and there's (paid, but not very expensive) wifi everywhere! I'm a vegetarian and they prepared vegetarian options for me which was great, considering... More

I came to Santorini with my boyfriend for the first time in the end of September. We were not only looking forward to what everybody tells you about the magic of this island but also for experiencing the welcoming and warmth of Greek culture, which always makes me feel like home. We found a cozy hotel ran by a Greek... More

I stayed at Hotel Mathios for a week 1st- 8th October, with a big group of people on a christian holiday. I really like the way the hotel was setup as a village. It made it thoroughly enjoyable. The view from outside the hotel is awe inspring, you can see right across the caldera to the other towns, Oia and... More

Fantastic small hotel with approx 50 rooms. Situated in a small town with very little to do locally, however local bus service stops right outside hotel and cheap tickets available directly to all the island's hot-spots. Laid out in a little village in landscaped grounds, with well presented, spacious rooms, plenty of storage, each with private porch/balcony. Food was fantastic... More

Gorgeous boutique hotel in Santorini! The service was exceptional-very attentive, very personal and everyone wearing a smile. Anything we needed or wanted, the staff was more than willing to help. Though by no means the worlds most prolific traveler, I have been on 4 continents and some 25 countries. Santorini and Mathios Village are a repeat favorite and numbers among the few.
