We stayed at the Hotel Sophia in June 2016. It was a lovely building right on the port. We could watch the yachts land from the balcony, and it was easy to find from any where in Hydra town. The breakfasts were delicious, and I understand that the hotel provided beach towels for those going to the beach. (We didn't...

.....And this time we stayed a full week and enjoyed every minute of warm hospitality from Aggeliki, Vasseliki and Linda. This time we stayed in the maisonette with living area and bathroom downstairs and loft style bedroom and it was great having the extra room to relax in. We spent a lot of time on our balcony watching the mules...

We stopped in at this hotel without a reservation and the sweet woman seemed sad that she only could put us up there for one night. We had a very nice room with a balcony right at the port and I felt right in the middle of all the action. It was so fun watching the supplies being unloaded, donkeys...

Overlooking the Hydra port this simple but charming hotel is a great find. The location is central, prices are reasonable, and the breakfast was good...as expected. The staff was attentive enough but not under foot, so to speak. The rooms have a/c but just know that it will not work unless your room card key is plugged in on the...

If I could give a VERY GOOD+ (just below an EXCELLENT-) I would... 1) I didn't know that 'shared balcony' meant there wasn't one off your room, but at the end of the hall instead...2) My room was towards the back & shared a wall with the owners bedroom, and my window looked out at a wall...3) It got a...

One of my best hotel stays! Only six rooms, kind of a family feeling. The sisters who run the hotel, are the most kind hostesses ever. Breakfast is a spoiling thing; home made pies, puddings, jams... Room facing the harbour with a balcony that was our private cafe, ouzery, winery, library and SCENERY... Everything you could ask for and more...

We stayed at Hotel Sophia in September for 2 days following Rick Steve's travel advice as well as other positive Tripadvisor reviews. It was everything we had hoped for & more. The 2 sisters that own & run the hotel, Vassiliki & Angeliki, made us feel at home & treated us like old friends. They greated us with smiles, pastries...

We loved our stay on Hydra and staying at Hotel Sophia was the best decision we made! The worst decision was that we didn't stay a week or longer. The family owners of the hotel are kind and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Glasses, ice etc...no problem. Our room overlooking the harbour was spacious, comfortable, clean and had...

We had a room with a balcony overlooking the port--it was absolutely perfect. The room was large and clean. We spent three nights here and enjoyed starting each morning with a cup of coffee and watching the mules being loaded with supplies from the boat. The breakfasts were fantastic and plentiful. The staff were overwhelmingly helpful and kind.
