We loved our stay here being so close to wildlife. The lake is a beautiful. The owner kindly walked us around it pointing out a snake on a rock, a crocodile and birds.
I did a watercolour painting in this peaceful surrounds.
The Sri Lankan chicken and Vegan curry was definitely one of the best curries we’d had on our tour! The pork in the pork curry on the second night was mostly fat and a let down. Dinner was served under a canopy lit by lanterns and the sounds of the night. It was magical!
The rooms looked newly furbished with all you need including toothbrush, toothpaste and quality shampoo and conditioner. The beds are firm, but manageable for a couple of nights.
We would go again as it is a fantastic location and so welcoming…

My wife and I just finished three amazing nights at Wadula over New Years. Not only was the room incredibly clean and modern, but also, the service was five star! Chamith and his brother Dulaj are two of the nicest guys we have ever met. Their service was exceptional! We enjoyed delicious homecooked Sri Lankan meals and even a bird watching paddle boat tour around the lake that borders the hotel's property. As well, Chamith and Dulaj arranged a safari for us in Yala, which was an incredible experience. We saw a plethora of different animals from peacocks to baby elephants to leopards to water buffalo and many more! I highly recommend staying at this hotel. We will remember this experience in nature for the rest of our lives.

We Highly recommend Wadula Safari camp. The 3 men that run this place are truly outstanding: Dulaj, Chameeth, and Gihan. The owner is very lucky to have them. They were so friendly, attentive, kind, and truly went out of their way to make our honeymoon wonderful.
Pros: Right from our planning, their communication via email is amazing, quick, and very reassuring. They took care of everything, our transportation from Colombo, meals, and tours. Everything was timely. The amazing staff is truly what makes this camp beautiful. It is peaceful, in the middle of the jungle, with gorgeous views of hills along a lake. The sunset and sunrise during safari drives was truly magical. We were able to see all the animals except for the elusive bear. Only one leopard sighting sleeping in a tree, but it was still so wonderful. I have been on african safari's so don't expect the same kind of luxury camps or safari drives. These safari drives are different, more amongst jungle not dry open areas so it's still a new and unique experience. They have a great wine and beer selection as well. Our hats off to the chef, the food was just amazing. Different options everyday and they would ask us what we liked. That fried rice is the best we ever had! We miss your cooking! For the price, you will be getting such an outstanding experience that's incomparable to any other lodging/camps in the area.
Cons: Room could have been a little cleaner. We saw some cobwebs in the bathroom and room, but they were still fairly clean. Very spacious and comfortable. It is the wilderness so expect bugs inside (not in the bed). The curtains were thin, you could see people walking outside and you could see shadows and people inside as well. This made changing etc a little uncomfortable.
Wonderful stay and hope we meet again!

The most luxurious, beautiful and impeccably clean, spacious, bungalows (full of light, if you open the curtains) just outside the Yala national park in the middle of a beautiful jungle in front of a lake. Comfortable bed, good food, really absolutely nothing to complain about.
Very professional and kind service, perfect safari experience. The driver is experienced and really eager to find a leopard, the vehicle was very comfortable. Even though I was only one day there, I could see a leopard twice from a close distance. Everything was exactly on time and exactly the way it was promised. The communication was super easy, Dulaj responds in no more then an hour. There is a convenient taxi service one can use. I was picked up from Mirissa and brought back there after the safari day.
The only thing I regret is that I couldn't stay longer there. Due to the special location in this place you feel, see, hear and smell the jungle even when you are not in safari. I could have spent some days enjoying this amazing atmosphere just reading book and practicing yoga.

What an amazing place!! If you are planning a trip to Yala look no further.
Communication from Dulaj was faultless. He helped to arrange our safari’s and a beautiful private dinner by the lake for my wife’s birthday.
Charmid made us feel so welcome. Fresh juice and a cold towel were waiting for us on our arrival and he looked after us so well during our stay.
He set up and served the beautiful private dinner which his mother had cooked. He paid so much attention to detail. There was a walkway lined with lanterns, balloons and a cake as well as the amazing meal.
The next morning, he served us breakfast, in a different location but still overlooking the lake, where we watched the monkeys as we ate.
The accommodation was spotless and so well equipped. Great shower & very good aircon unit. One small suggestion would be a mattress topper for bed as it was quite hard.
You are completely surrounded by nature and the bird sounds in the morning are wonderful. If you love nature and peace this is the place for you.

We had an excellent experience at Wadula. We chose Wadula because we preferred to enter Yala from the quieter Kataragama entrance, while still having a comfortable but affordable place to stay- this worked out well for us.
Our hosts (brothers) could not have been more helpful or hospitable. They went out of their way to make sure that we were happy with everything, they organised our safari, onward transfer and delicious meals.
The rooms are rustic on the outside but polished on the inside and all the vital bits like aircon and water pressure were great.
Wadula is a bit off the beaten track but the brothers made sure that our arrival and departure was smooth. The environment is very peaceful and we saw black faced languar monkeys, crocodiles, toucans, peacocks and other birds all around us especially when we took an evening walk on the tank (dam) wall.

Lovely couple of nights at the farm. Dulaj and his team could not have been friendlier or more attentive. The food and room were fantastic. Our safari guide was great- we saw a leopard without anyone else being around and he was very respectful of the animals compared to other drivers.
Our only complaint was the bed was firm and could do with a mattress topper.
Thank you for having us!

We would highly recommend staying at Wadula Safari. Dulaj, Chamith and Gihan were the perfect hosts. They went above and beyond anything we could have expected, they could not do enough for us. Real highlights were the river safari and moonlit dinner on the lake. They also gave us a guided walk around their property and their knowledge of their local environment was incredible. They organized the Jeep safari for us which was professional and well organized. Thank you all for making our stay with you one of the highlights of our travels around Sri Lanka.

Chamith and his team were superb. They made our lives so easy. from carrying our (very heavy) bags everywhere, to making sure we were fed and watered at all times, and even made us a packed lunch for the safari. In the evening they offered us a free paddle boat across the lake (Chamith came with us whilst some locals steered the boat) and we saw the sunset across the lake, as well as all the incredible wildlife.
Such a friendly team, I couldn’t speak more highly of them. Can’t wait to come back next year and do a longer safari (we did a half day and saw leopards, elephants, peacocks, water buffalo and many others).

Stayed here by chance and I was very happy we did. Literally in the Yala safari area beautiful jungle cabanas. Nice clean and modern decor.
We ate here because town is quite a drive away and a lamp lit table was set out near the lake.
Morning was a delight when we woke and looked over the lake with wild water buffaloes. Will be returning
