The hotel is on Lamai beach, in the north side. They offer the swimming pool, the chairs for the beach and the towel for free. Note that the facilities at the swimming pool are in good conditions, while the chairs at the seaside are mainly broken. A good advantage is that you can have free, clean towels for the beach/swimming...

Booked a room for the bathtub. First day got the booked room, tried to have a bath, checked: fleas everywhere. Cleaned it MYSELF Found a larva under the bathtub headrest: went to reception to coplain. They sent me the maid, who yelled at me saying she had 10 rooms to clean and not enough time. Booked the room again (since...

If you want to be in a quiet place on the beach, but not too far from the action at lamai beach, this is the place. Bring or get a hammock, or 2. We hung them up on the trees. The pool is great. Can't swim out front in ocean--too many rocks, and very shallow (less than 2 feet /...

This is the second time we stat at Sand Sea with two years between our visits. In addition I was at Lamai in 1997 and see the change towards a total tourist ghetto. Many places like Lamai is rapidly loosing it's charm in Thailand. The pressure from massive tourism wears both people, structures and nature down. Sand Sea is no...

This hotel was recommended to us by friends as a good value for money hotel at popular Lamai beach. Since it was our first time to Samui we decided to stay here for the first half of our stay. Our friends stayed at the budget rooms close to the water but we decided to go for the 'Junior Suite Ocean...

Stay at this hotel at your own risk. Because the staff here don't care about you. behind the smiles, the staff here are very cynical indeed. They rented us a motorbike with a very bald front tire that had no grip on the dusty Samui road. The bike easily slipped and fell over, even from a standing position travelling at...

Like one of the other reviews said if you're after a flash hotel this is not for you, but the position on the beach is so good. We stayed in a garden view room, it was quite small, really just enough room to out our suitcases on the floor and a small bathroom. My first impression was that it wasn't...

We stayed at Sand Sea in May which is low season on Samui. After visiting Samui for over 15 years now we still can't work out why. We stayed in one of the pool villas which was absolutely right on the beach with a quite large pool not a plunge pool as in many other places. The villa was showing...

I was almost put of this resort by some of the reveiws but am so happy that we decided to go there. We have just returned from 2 weeks of relaxation in paradise. We had a junior suite that led out to the pool which was next to the beach. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned each day including the bedding...
