My wife & needed a well earned holiday & we are both glad we chose this place. Here's my list of PRO's & CON's for the resort: PRO's - 1) The staff are really friendly from check-in, waitstaff at breakfast to the pool cleaners & yard curators. 2) The resort itself is quite immaculate & well presented. 3) The cocktails at the pool bar are a must in the evening as the sun goes down. 4) The poolside rooms are very spacious & are beautifully presented. 5) The choice of two generously sized pools is great. CON's - 1) A reasonable trip by taxi/tuk tuk from the hustle & bustle of Chaweng Beach. 2) The pool towels provided are very old & looking quiet shabby. 3) Breakfast options are OK with some flavours on the bland side. 4) Outdated TV with no access to NETFLIX or the ability to mirror cast to a compatible TV (handy for those raining days in Koh Samui) …

Beautiful resort & location. Resort very relaxing with great sea views of the bay. Sandy beaches either side of the resort hotel . The bay has very shallow water this time of year so best to go to main Lamai beach if you want a swim. Staff very friendly & smiley nothing to much trouble. Food excellent & they have happy hour twice a day for cocktails & beer. Rooms nice size & very comfortable, the air con is efficient & quiet. Free bottles of water in the room. Pools on the smaller size but nice & clean. Nice touch was the free fruits they brought around the pool area every morning. Outside the resort found some fantastic local restaurants with amazing food, don’t be scared off by the appearance of the restaurants. My husband and I stayed at Rocky's for our honeymoon for 10 days and loved our stay here. The resort is beautiful, the staff are so friendly, food was amazing and offered complimentary shuttles in to Lamai and Chaweng every day. Couldn't recommend the resort enough. What can I say. The hotel was stunning, the staff were so friendly, kind & attentive. There are kayaks, paddle boards, even sea shoes to use on the beach. The food was also amazing. The Kuoni travel agent we booked through included a free massage, cocktail night & a Thai meal for free one night. It was my first time visiting Thailand & it truly was memorable. There was 18 of us staying for a friends wedding, which was also a lovely day I couldn’t recommend this hotel more. Close to Lamai & just a quick trip in a Took Took

This was our second visit to Rocky’s and it was even more magical and amazing than the first visit 5 years ago. Rocky’s is pure luxury in a perfect location, amazing views, delicious food and most of all it has the most outstanding staff. This time we visited with 16 of our friends to share our special day as we got married at Rocky’s. The wedding planner Hannah was brilliant from start to finish, she couldn’t do enough for us. We felt very well looked after and the day was perfect 🫶🏼 despite the little bit of rain we had 😉 the staff made it a memorable day and went above and beyond for us all. We couldn’t have imaged a more perfect wedding day Everyone who contributed to the day was outstanding. Unfortunately one of our party had an accident on a planned trip and the reason I mention this is because the staff and most of all the General Manager Jun went out of there way to look after us. I can’t put in words what they did for us, the driving to and from, the 24 hour care and visits you name it Rocky’s was right there by our side. We felt so well looked after and in the best hands. They didn’t have to do any of this but they did because they genuinely care about their customers. We class the Rocky staff as our rocky family not “just a hotel” each and everyone who works at Rocky’s is absolutely fantastic. After returning 5 years later and being welcomed by the same smiley happy face that is Ariane just confirmed that Rocky’s has kept its amazing staff and luxurious hotel. We had a sea view room with plunge pool which was outstanding. The views absolutely stunning. The rest of our party had the garden view rooms which were equally amazing. The food is to die for “specially the tuna salad 😋 “ Breakfast was a highlight and we are already missing the eggs Benedict. The bar and bar staff make your evenings 🍹 and there is no other place I’d want to go! Rocky’s and the whole Rocky’s family! We absolutely loved our week at Rocky’s. We had a garden pool view room on the first floor and this perfect as it had a large balcony with two day beds for chilling and reading and right next to the pool but still plenty of privacy. The room itself was beautiful, spacious and felt luxurious, with great shower (light switches on both sides of the bed would be handy, but a minor niggle!). We ended up eating in the restaurant every night. Prices were reasonable, yes you can find cheaper alternatives, but we felt it was worth paying a little more for the fantastic Thai food and the setting on the beachfront. Very romantic 🥰 Breakfast was also high quality and an excellent range of choices, the pancakes were my favourite! Service is excellent, very attentive without being too much but nothing is too much trouble. I had two spa treatments, again can’t fault it. We booked the driver for a day for a tour of the island and ended up being an hour late back, which we were charged extra for - fair enough but I do feel our driver could have been clearer as we got to the last stop already running late. All in all I would highly recommend, would love to come back. My tip for the brilliant reception team is when showing new guests to their rooms, go the longer way around rather than through the car park. First impressions were a bit confusing. …

I booked Rocky’s mainly because it was “starred” in Lonely Planet, and the price did not feel outrageous for what appeared to be a fine looking and well-reviewed resort. Somewhere to enjoy for a few days at the end of a long work trip in Asia. Initial doubts over it not being directly adjacent to the main Lamai beach were quickly banished. In fact, after my one visit to Lamai beach, the southern end of which is about a 15 minute walk from Rocky’s, I was only too pleased to return to the peace and tranquillity of the hotel. I stayed in one of the rooms overlooking the garden pool. The room was amazing: huge, beautifully appointed with great balcony/terrace, and a huge bathroom. Within 30 seconds you are swimming in the garden pool, or within a leisurely couple of minutes, can be swimming in the sea or the hotel pool next the beach. The beach itself is small, yes, but it’s right next the hotel pool, and feels safer and less steeply-shelving than nearby Lamai, and is pretty much for the exclusive use of Rocky’s residents. There is a great beach-bar by the pool and the whole place feels just the right size. There is an old offshore reef you can kayak to at low tide, and have a swim off there. The water is a little clearer and stays waist to chest deep for some way. But if you go out there, make sure you wear some sort of footwear as the coral is sharp at that spot. The headland makes the cove calmer during higher winds than at Lamai. The water at all the beaches the week I was there was not so clear but there were a lot of storms so that tends to churn things up a bit. Brilliant, attentive and helpful staff throughout. Food was excellent, even if some dishes and drinks seem a little overpriced. The setting, location and high quality accommodation more than compensated. Plus, you could order food up to quite late, and always someone at the bar to serve you a drink well into the night. For a change of dining scene there are a number of really good restaurants very nearby. Scooter hire is pricier than in town (relatively speaking) but there’s a certain peace of mind knowing you’re booking through the hotel. Even with its Lonely Planet approval, Rocky’s is an understated gem of a hotel/resort on this island. …

My husband and I stayed at Rockys for 7 nights on October...we had the best experience. The resort is beautiful and the staff so obliging and friendly. We had a few meals in the restaurant and the daily breakfast - the food was amazing and of such a high quality. We enjoyed a complimentary cocktail evening and a fire show. Our unit had everything we could desire - comfortable bed and large bathroom. The pools were both great and the beach was beautiful and the ocean good to swim in - we also used the kayak and there are paddleboards and sand shoes available to use. Arianna the front Manager was so helpful. We would highly recommend.
