We stayed for 10 days in January as part of a Luxury Escapes package. We were accommodated in a verandah room which was very comfortable and decorated In a traditional Thai style. The bed was very comfortable, the air conditioning worked efficiently, the verandah was spacious and comfortable and the quality of the toiletries was very good. More lighting would have beneficial as far as applying makeup etc,but only a minor point. We were fortunate to have our stay when the tide was high and swimming was good. It was nice to have the choice of cooling off in the pool or the sea. We found all the pool and restaurant staff to be lovely and they went out of their way to chat with us each day and always tried to cater for our needs. Restaurant and bar prices were of western standards, but there were always happy hours or 2 for 1 offers, that made prices competitive. There are a number of very cheap restaurants within walking distance and otherwise it was a short taxi drive into Lamai for lots of varying cuisines. You can also book the hotel car which is the same price as local taxis. We enjoyed staying at Le Meridien, with its Thai style buildings, gardens and welcoming staff.

All the staff, regardless of position in this hotel, are very friendly and welcoming all the time.

They deserve credit for 1) happy in their jobs , 2) always professional & take pride to make guests feel so happy.

We had beautiful weather & sun shining into our pool villa. This resort is an intimate one, more of a couples retreat type with tranquility and relaxation. Small resort with a personal touch.

Villas & suites are done with care & designed by owners’ preference, thus the “old paint look”.

Even the evening Celebration @ 7+pm has a storyline (Stairs to Heaven). Make a wish before you swish the coconut away......

As I’m prone to mosquito bites, i can bring a natural or a deet spray along.

Single hour massage type are mid-priced & packages range to over US$100, depending on your preference & time. The rooms are clean & therapists are trained.

Enjoy your drinks &/or dinner at pier bar is a must. It was breezy & cool this time. Even at Latest Recipe, it was very cool.

Housekeeping does it’s best to clean up villas daily. There are many beautiful frangipani trees & plants all around the resort.

I was there in October 2019 with my sister. Property itself is nice, quiet and easy to be reached. Hotel in located on Koh Samui main road in Lamai area.

The outdoor car park is enough for hotel guest but not convenience when raining bellman not really helpful.

Front office , Housekeeper and especially F&B are really provided great service. They so attentive, Polite and welcome you with a real smile everyday. Even new staff was tried his best to provide hotel information and didn't hesitate to help me upon check in.

Villa is nice and clean. It is big enough for 2 person stay. i love the fluffy bed and pillows. unfortunately it was rain during my 2 days stay so i did not experience beach area. There's lots of mosquito at evening time. I do understand this because you can easily find it in tropical country especially when room is surrounding with plants and trees. So no complaint about this but just "DO NOT LEAVE DOOR OPEN"

Bathroom is very big and functional. Aircon is great. Lighting is dim and not much day light. Wifi is not stable and low signal, you'd better use mobile signal.

Overall, It was a nice stay and i may return to this property again in Summer time.

Second visit. From the check in with Lann to seeing all the employees we met last year our experience was excellent. This time a bottom floor room consisting of an ante room complete with couch and furnishings for relaxing, bedroom, adjoining open air dipping pool with water jets, and the sprawling enclosed outdoor bathroom. . Pool/ Bar personnel of Om,Nook and a new arrival Benz provided excellent cocktails/food service. (The afternoon grilled kebabs are my fave.) Double Day Beds are excellent. Now the breakfast buffet was again graciously and professionally manned by Pla, Nuning and Palm. Good to know that the staff is consistent.. We ventured next door for dinner one night and again very pleased with the offerings. 5 minute walk down the beach we found a great Happy Hour place with a DJ called Beach Republic. That was from 4-7 pm. Our last evening we dined on the upper deck of Latest Recipe and were pleased that there was a Happy Hour not only during the day but also from 8-9 pm. The mango mojitos as well as all other options were well constructed. At drink end I spooned the chunks of mango out that were infused with rum by then. Yummy. The plate presentations were creative along with the taste and style of the dishes. Kudos to all of the Kitchen Prep. & Chefs.Wonderful ending to a wonderful stay at Le Meridien. May return next year.

Every March I escape to a destination where the climate is hot and the beaches are beautiful. This year, I sought after Koh Samui.

This tiny island is a perfect getaway if you are seeking a relaxing time away. Beaches are beautiful, and the Samuians are very polite and warm individuals.

I stayed at Le Meridien Koh Samui ...this hotel is very peaceful with grounds that are immaculate. The staff goes beyond expectations to facilitate your requests. Even if it is the impossible, they will try their utmost to make it possible for you.

Please expect a level of service that one would not receive elsewhere. It is utterly professional !! I cannot praise the front desk staff - Funnie and Boo for taking such an interest to my needs ! I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The Restaurant staff were equally as professional and engaging ! The cuisine is both local Thai and Western. For those who have a difficult time consuming spicy dishes, there is an options available. If you have a yen for something that is not on the menu, the Chef would be delighted to prepare your request(s).

We generally forget to salute the ground staff. At Le Meridien, they were diligent every morning to ascertain that the pool(s) were skimmed, and the pathways were tidy.

The poolside staff went above and beyond to prepare my morning chair at the beach with towels. He took note that I enjoyed laying on the beach as opposed to poolside. I thank you Om for being so polite and pampering .

The room service staff were very good in making sure that amenities used were replenished. There was never a need to ask for a missing item. Attention to detail was high on the ratings.

Lastly ...if you stay at this resort, I implore you to consider having a spa treatment. I experienced a few treatments with Mariam and “oh my” - amazing !!!

I highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the island of Koh Samui.

Thank you all at Le Meridien 😘. I hope to see you all soon - perhaps next year.

Room 5103 😉😉

While in general we enjoyed our stay here, I was disappointed with this hotel not being to the standard expected. Our room was upgraded to a plunge pool suite which has a spa pool. While that was appreciated, the room itself though nice was very dark which was a bit depressing after a while. The spa / toilet /shower areas are open and were over run with mosquitoes. We ended up buying and using 2 tins of mosquito spray during our stay just to deal with them and were still badly bitten . It was not pleasant.

The dining facilities are limited with really just one restaurant Latest Recipe. During an 9 day stay the limited choice certainly pushes you towards looking to dine out. Breakfast was OK and the a la carte was good. That said we enjoyed dining at Latest Recipe and the Ocean Pier and Plunge Bar were good. We thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas BBQ.

One saving grace is that in typical Thai style the staff service all round was excellent. Staff are very well trained and anticipate your needs. You really couldn't fault them during our stay.

Such a beautiful hotel great for a relaxing part of the trip.

The pool area is beautiful and looks out to the beach. Note the beach is a hard beach not soft sand so we didn't really use this.

One of the best parts of the hotel is the staff. Both Tree and Dream on the breakfast team were absolutely amazing. They remembered our names and provided the best service at breakfast every morning. The breakfast was great, it involved a help yourself section with bread, fruit and cereal and additionally each day you were given a checklist where you would tick as much hot food as possible (continental, pancakes, Thai food) and it would all come fresh.

The restaurant food is very nice but is more pricey because the hotel is more upmarket. We intended to dine on the Ocean Pier restaurant but to be honest it was never busy and so looked like there was no atmosphere.

Our room (the terrace room) was lovely. Very spacious, gorgeous bathroom and a nice large balcony area. Only negative on the room is there was not much space for storing clothes and other personal belongings.

Finally - location. The location of the hotel is not great. From doing 5 nights in Koh Samui I would recommend staying closer to the airport in the Bo Phut area as we found ourselves travelling there daily and taxis on the island are so expensive (around 600 each way!).

The hotel is nice but nothing memorable, rooms have an original layout, clean and spacious bathroom but lack of natural light and privacy (and only the Villas have ocean views).
Has several pools, it's a very relaxing and quiet hotel.

However the staff could be more polite and make guest feel more welcome, I've got a couple rude answers from them for no reason.
Food is average, breakfast was mediocre, nothing special or memorable, it feels like they are not trying very hard (No mango or Thai dishes).

Bonvoy should reconsider lowering the Category of this hotel, it shouldn't be considered a Category 5.

Overall and comparing with other hotels from Marriott and other's Le Meridien I have stayed before, I was expecting a better and more luxurious experience, I wouldn't go back.

Very cozy over Christmas a little more full over New Year’s Eve. Offered great Dinners on both evenings the Christmas one was one of the best I had really enjoyed it. The pricing was alright even kind cheap for the service provided. The Staff is amazing you are able to contact them via what’s App and tell your needs or pre book activities.
The kajaking was a fun and free activity also the ocean pier an amazing view at sun set an night time. The staff made it relaxing and kept my mood up.
Besides the location is not very central the hotel offers transportation and you even have a Family Markt in walking distance (300m). A few restaurants are also close to the Hotel but the cuisine offered at the Hotel is very good. If you tell them your specific preferences they will notice them and you won’t especially ask for Thai milk tea on breakfast.
The Covid Situation was managed quiet well I fell secure and safe. I will come back for Birthday or Christmas for sure if you use the offers and services the hotel provides you can have a very relaxing and enjoyable time.
The resort is mostly visited by families and lovers but you also feel welcome as a solo traveler thanks to the caring staff.
The Mai Thai is very good as well as most cocktails also recommend the Green curry beef

Only critique I have:
- a Small Beach (no ability to have a subbed there)
- when it became a little more busy over New Years the relaxing chilling atmosphere changed a little (but if I needed to wait to long for drinks they were paid by the hotel)
- it’s romantic so if you travel alone may look for some company :)

Formerly the Le Meridien, the hotel has a very oriental design and a grand looking lobby area with a water feature courtyard in the middle. Rooms are scattered around within lush foliage, some with plunge pool access and some beach view villas. We stayed at the upper terrace rooms which were spacious and well maintained with solid fittings. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a shower and a large soak tub. The breakfast area faces a lovely view of the main pool and the sea. There was a great spread for breakfast with quite a few choices of fresh juices and fruits, eggs and pancakes are cooked to order. Bacon however was a little cold. Had a great oil massage at the spa. Kayaks are available for an hour’s use. I previously read some comments on concerns about mosquitoes but the hotel provided insect repellant lotion and conducted fogging in the evening of one of the days of our stay there. We also kept our windows and doors shut most of the time so we didn’t really feel that it was an issue for us.

What really made our stay were the amazing team of staff whom were all warm, welcoming and helpful - from the reception, to the spa, to the gardeners and housekeeping and waitstaff at the restaurant. Every one of them would greet you on their way around the property.

I didn’t like was the dampness of the bathroom as it was the rainy season when we were there and the bathroom has an open type ventilation system. The TV was also blurry/fuzzy and as it was probably provided by satellite, the signal would be lost when it rained heavily but the problem is that you would hide in the room to watch TV when it is raining.

Hi We did not swim in the beach at the front of the hotel nor did we see anyone else swimming there. It is very shallow for about 1km then there is a reef. You could definitely wade out or kayak. All the best

Agree that both food and beverage are reasonably priced (and apologies, I don't have a photo of the menu on hand). And the happy hours are great value for drinks. We always did the breakfast buffet at the hotel (absolutely fantastic) and the occasional lunch / dinner by the pool. But we would also often wander down the beach to the Starbay restaurant (great curries and other dishes at good prices) for dinner. And there are plenty of other local options also.
