Our department had an off-site at Karlaby Kro 10 days ago. The place is beautiful and the environment is charming. Although it was not very cold outside (around 0 deg C), the common areas such as the dining room and the conference room were very cold. I am personally not disturbed by that, but most of my colleagues had to...

This hotel is a large old property with stylish thatched roof buildings in an old farm style. There is a beautiful pool semi indoors with plants and objects. There is a sauna and massage. The front desk is remarkably unfriendly however. The restaurant prepares sophisticated cooking, very good, but small portions and with wine so out of line, price wise,...

Executive summary: slow service, no wine knowledge, a bit cold main course and too many flies. I have visited Karlaby Kro many times before where I have stayed at the hotel and also enjoyed the restaurant so of course I had high expectations also this time. Unfortunately I was rather dissapointed and I will tell you my full story. This...

Although difficult to find, a little off the beaten track, well worth the trip. Very romantic setting-the rooms were beautifully decorated, staff very hospitable. We had been on the road for several days and the first thing my husband and I did was take a nap in the outdoor bed-swings. Heavenly. The pool, sauna, and spa were all lovely. We...

lovely room, lots of space (and we sleept in one of the small rooms), but beds to soft. The tv selection is not great, primarily swedish channel, and the tv is places on a food only abouth ½m high. So the view from either the sofa or the bed isnt good. Large bathroom with showergel, moisturiser, conditioner and so on,...

Karlaby inn is a very beautiful inn - in no man's land. Magnificent park. The rooms are great - bright and tastefully decorated. The staff is smiling and very service minded. We ate a 6 course meal in the restaurant. Definitely very good - especially the main course was elegant.og tasteful. But wine prices are very high - and too...

Nothing in this hotel is shabby or cheap, this is a real gem in the countryside of Sweden. Having stayed in its impressive sister hotel, Hackeberga Slot, we prefer this lovely little hotel. The rooms are very large indeed, and well equiped, with beautiful bathrooms. The communal spaces are beautiful and the food is FANTASTIC! If I had one criticism,...

Almost everything in this place feels luxury, even though it is right out in the middle of the countryside with not much happening around! Your mind & body could easily stay here for a week and feel totally at ease - but not your wallet! This is the top of the range in Österlen and they are not shy in...

We have stayed here 4-5 times in the past and enjoyed it. But last time was maybe 3-4 years ago. This time, in July 2011, we see that prices have increased remarkably. Wine especially, but also food, was way out of line as far as prices. Cheapest bottle of wine, nothing special at all, was SEK 730 or USD 110....

This is a nice little hotel set on the swedish country side (Österlen but not by the sea, the small villages by the sea are well worth a visit if you stay here) The restaurant is very good, a little bit on the edge with combinations of fish, caviar and meat and some interesting local suppliers. Rooms are nice and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Karlaby Kro is a small hotel and restaurant located in Osterlen. We are open all year and the restaurant welcomes everyone, not only guests of the hotel. On your way here, you pass through villages with names such as Baskemolla and Gladsax. You turn onto a dirt road and there, amid rape fields and farmland, lies our whitewashed Skane farm. Karlaby Kro is a place for peace and tranquility. The nature and surroundings make Karlaby Kro a place that exudes peace and tranquility. You'll find the bar and reception in the main building, while the hotel rooms are located in what was one the farm stables. Here you'll also find the guest living room with fireplace. The former stables also house the poolroom with a 12 x 4 meter indoor pool and sauna. With light streaming in through the glass roof, the poolroom is a warm and lovely room to sit in, even if you don't wish to swim or take a sauna. You may also enjoy a spa treatment in this room. During summer you can sit on the terrace outside or rest in the hanging beds in the pergola just next to it. ... more   less
