We stayed only one night at this property, precisely in the Iris room, and I must say that we enjoyed it! Original room organized on several levels and clean, a little 'cold as you enter but once you turn on the air conditioners on the hot air was fine! I did not particularly appreciate the stained chair cushions, a sort of tapestry hanging on the single bed that gave idea of very dusty and the boards on the bedside tables of the double bed, also the curtain of the master bedroom was not blackout so in the morning a very strong beam of light at 7.30 prevented rest. For the rest I must say that the spa is small but really well done, there was also the herbal tea and we really enjoyed it! The versatile and hearty breakfast, you could even ask for eggs and express omelets! Note really of merit to the gluten free corner of breakfast!! In conclusion it is definitely a place where I would return, the Recommendation is to “refresh” a little the decor of the rooms

Lovely convent-converted-to-residential home. Lovely large room furnished with antiques but without a comfortable sitting area. Breakfast unremarkable.
NOTE!! You will be charged 40 Euros to use the spa room. The staff did not inform us about this charge. On the day we visited the only thing that worked in the spa was a small hot tub. We could find no mention of the charge listed on their website. We traveled in Italy for 17 days and this was 1 of 2 hotels that charged for use of spa.
We reached out to the hotel staff to request a refund for our 30 minutes in their spa, but they refused our request.
Better value to be found in the area. Would not stay there on return visit.

Excellent choice if you are looking for genuine but charming accommodation in the heart of Monferrato. Plus the SPA offer and the excellent breakfast. Particular and large rooms with period furnishings combined with well-balanced modernities. Possible charging of an electric vehicle which is still a nice plus in Italy. Certainly excellent even in the hot season with the proximity of cultural centers and historical monuments. Friendly and welcoming staff which never hurts!

I report my very unpleasant experience of a few days ago regarding a bad service and lack of absolute cooperation.
The property in question has collected payment without ever sending the Confirmation of My Reservation.
This happened: 1- I book on booking the hotel in question (use booking for years) 2- booking does not send me the confirmation but charges me the amount of two nights - euro 280 3- I write to booking to ask for confirmation but never responds 4- I then book another structure nearby for the same period assuming that this structure in question had not confirmed availability - usually expects confirmation from booking (unfortunately I could not remember the name of the structure, I had seen many, otherwise I would have contacted her in person) 4- the day of what would have been the check in call me (only in the evening) the property in question (why do they have my phone?) saying that they were waiting for me 5- I explain to them that booking, nor the structure, NEVER sent me the Reservation Confirmation 6- the structure says to have sent me the confirmation to an email generated by booking that I discover after a long phone call that is wrong! 7- I ask the structure to send me the proof where it shows that booking has issued a wrong email so as to make me on booking to ask for a refund 8- Mrs. roberta who works in the structure and its director refuse to forward me the booking message where the wrong email is reported but send me (this time to my correct email address provided by me live) a generic online check in email and a Reservation number that is not correct!!!!

Wonderful place and super attentive and kind staff. We stayed in the I Girasoli room, a clean and very bright room. There is the possibility of booking the private spa for two hours of absolute relaxation with a beautiful view, in the company of a good herbal tea or hot tea. Breakfast with a rich sweet and savory buffet, the cakes are made by them, the apple juice is the best I have ever tasted! The girl at the reception recommended us some excellent places to dine in the evening, a few km away there is a wide choice of restaurants all with 4/5 stars in the reviews. Very pleasant stay. We have booked a room for three. The place has a lot of charm, with its pretty interior spaces and old furniture, old photographs and trinkets. Our bathroom was however very comfortable and modern, while keeping its charm. The beds are also very comfortable. The garden is splendid and so is the view around the Pension, especially from the pool. Very friendly and professional welcome. Breakfast is varied with the possibility to make orange juice and fresh fruit or vegetables. Cons: if you are very tall, you may be cramped in the beds (especially the third bed of our room), it is imperative to protect yourself from mosquitoes outside (mosquito nets in the rooms fortunately) and the air conditioning was a little noisy. No restaurant on site but there are several in the area and we recommend and make the Reservation at the reception. Overall I really recommend this Inn, it was very nice.

It is a prefect location for exploring the local countryside and all it has to offer, from top notch restaurants to lovely wineries. Located amidst the hills in Piedmont, with superb landscape view. Owners welcome you personally, explaining the history ripe building and the collection of objects and artifacts they have carefully selected for furnishing this very very nice place. Castagnoni is full of history, dating back to Savoia Kingdom: heaven for a history fan like me. The rooms: each one different, with its own character. My colleague was delighted getting one with canopy bed! The place: walking in the park, looking at surrounding landscape: peace for mind and soul, even if we were on business trip! The surrounding: owners are very helpful advising you best place for dining (Castagnoni is a B&B), you won't be disappointed. The Beb is very nice, it seems to be in a dwelling of another time. You sleep well, comfortable bed and excellent cleanliness! The spa is cute, too bad about the cold water of the whirlpool, smelly .. We did the massage but it was disappointing, it was not relaxing both because the cabin is open above and you can hear the voices of those who are in both, and because there was no music or massage oil just used, nor good spa scents.
