This place was a dump!!! Tiny rooms en suite with no place to put anything! No place to sit except in a dark and dingy pub used as a disco, presumably, as the coloured strobes were up! Dinner was forgettable and no pudding was offered!...More

Management response 28 Jan 2016 710DAM, Mr, A TripAdvisor Member (Management representative ) Travelling along the road between Lesotho and the Wild Coast, it was late ... The northern region of the Eastern Cape is fairly isolated, especially during the winter. Night was falling when we arrived at Barkly East. This is where we saw a sign indicating the "Old Mill Inn". On the front door is a poster placed indicating the hotel phone number for those who arrive late. Lovely touch. The owners received us warmly. They managed to prepare a meal. The hotel has a warm feeling and it feels good in the dining room. This one has a huge fireplace, but unfortunately the area is not forested, a chimney fire has represented a luxury ... We had a family room with an electric heater. The next morning, a classic but excellent English breakfast was served. Barkly East is a small town that offers everything a traveler would expect. Gasoline, ATM, supermarket, "liquory" ... Again thank you to the owners of Old Mill Inn for their hospitality !! Less
