Had an amazing stay with the family that were the nicest and most welcoming people I have experienced on a holiday, my friends and I felt like part of the family. The open spaces and the delicious homemade fijian food was definitely one of the best parts along with the hectic coral reef just 50 metres from shore of the main beach. Loved it here and definitely will be coming back asap.

Horrible experience. Arrived there by boat only to be told that the homestay is overbooked. Only 10 guests can stay there. So I'm asking myself how can this happen? They took us to a different homestay telling us that price will be same. They dropped us off, they left with the boat and we got told from the lady at the new homestay that the price is double. They just all ripped is off and they weren't keen to help afterwards in sorting it out.

The only way to avoid problems is to never book a room here. We arrive at 3 pm , and before seeing room , we were asked to make the payment, ( 610 dollars for 4 night). I was feeling that something was wrong but l trust the owners and l pay. 5 minutes after seeing the room , l have changed my mine and told them we can not stay in this kind of room. ( verry small, no air, windows dirty, a lot of sand on the carpet, walls not finished, the room it about 10 square meters, in a kind of warehouse ). We decide to stay for 2 nights, ( only for the beach), and we tell that to the owner. But as l trust them, l haven't ask for the money for the 2 nights that we don't stay. Of course before leaving, the owner was not there, so we loose the money. I write more than 100 reviews on my trip arround the world, but it is the first time that we are in this situation. The food (20 dollars each meal) was the smallest and poorest food we ever eat. The cost of ingredients is no more than 1,50 -2,00 dollars.Example: breakfast , homemade bread, margarine,cheap fruit jeam and a banana, dinner , fried rice ( only fried rice with some traces of vegetables and egg ). The toilet and the shower has no light. We were before at Nabua lodge, and the food was 20 times better.
