This was my 5th visit to Coconut Beach Resort. I was here for week with my son. It was pure bliss and relaxation along with action, at times, when we felt like it - a snorkeling boat trip to a local reef, a hike up to the top of the island, a leisurely game of chess, sipping cocktails at the bar, snorkeling at the reef right out front, and the stars, oh my - the stars at night..

If you are looking for a unique Fiji holiday away from any crowds, one that is immersive and genuine, small and intimate, relaxing yet plenty to do, with a beautiful setting on the Blue Lagoon then please do yourself a favour and spend a special week here in paradise.

I havn't mentioned the staff by name but all you should be very proud of the friendship and care you offer from the moment one steps onto the island, from the beautiful singing at breakfast and then same at dinner, the beautiful smiles, the food and everything inbetween. Thank you for making our week very special.

- btw, if you enjoy photography bring your camera...The sunrises and sunsets are something to behold.

From the moment we were greeted on the beach with singing, introductions to the entire staff, a fresh coconut to drink and a “welcome home”, we were treated to a tropical experience like none other. After a brief questionnaire we were served the first of many gourmet meals. Each and every meal was a fine dining experience, with no chance of ever going hungry! The calls to meal times and events were drummed on the Fijian “lali” to announce to guests that it was time to gather under the peaked breezeway of the main building with the exception of tea time at 4:00 p.m. Coffee and tea was available throughout the day but was especially good at tea time when it was accompanied by freshly baked coconut muffins and brownies, just to name a few. The extensive library on site with games and books was also a great way to enjoy the warm afternoons on lounges and chairs surrounded by a slight breeze. Staff were detail orientated from the booking of excursions to the fresh flowers throughout the room each day. The long white sandy beach (raked by staff daily), allows for swimming and snorkelling mere steps from the shoreline. The individual bungalows included a small fridge supplied with water. The open air bathrooms were a delight with small plants and shells lining the path to the shower and Pure Fijian products, such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The intimate feel to the entire resort gave us the opportunity to meet people from all over the world as we enjoyed nightly entertainment and shared excursions. Staff and the owners are very attentive and refer to each guest by name, which creates a feeling of familiarity and really does make one feel at ‘home’. We truly appreciated the day to day conversations with Sheung and Alex and felt like we were leaving family when it was time to go. Special thanks to Philip, Vata, Api, Beta, Mila, Manu, Mas, Josh, Joe, Molly, Abbo, Loga, Eliki, Becky and Mereisi. Vinaka vaka levu…Nadine & Brian

We’ve just returned from five utterly fabulous days at CBR and I would head right back there this very minute if I could.

I do tend to waffle a bit in reviews so will do my best to keep this simple.

1. The Resort
CBR is set at the top of the beautiful Yasawa Islands. It’s a lovely small resort that used to be a copra plantation. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with a unique bathroom featuring an outside shower which we loved using.
The main building at the resort is fabulous with a large dining room that looks out over the palms trees and beautiful beach. There is a central bar and lots of lovely comfy seating from which to enjoy happy hour and after dinner entertainment from. The main feature is the incredible tree that takes centre place at the end building…it needs to be seen to be believed
A dive centre is also located in this building.

2. The food
CBR operates a compulsory meal plan and every single meal was 5 star. You’ll need a big appetite as the meals are generous and utterly delicious. We couldn’t wait to see what was on the meal board every day, such was the excitement surrounding each days offerings. Half portions are recommended for those who like me, can’t eat quite as much. The seared tuna salad was the best I’ve had in the islands!

3. The real superstars…the staff
CBR’s wonderful staff are the real superstars of the island. Every single one of them was wonderful but there are always going to be extra special ones who make a stay memorable for years to come. We knew two from visits to a resort they previously worked at…Vata and Josh. These guys are fantastic, they sing most evenings at happy hour and during dinner. Josh does plenty in the marine transport side of things and Vata is the resort activities guy…he’s been made a member of our family due to his fun and attention shown us. Both are so caring and took wonderful of care of my parents who are in their late 70’s.
Beta, Api and Sulu looked after our group of six each day in the dining room and bar and put up with our antics and laughter whilst adding their own, which gave us even more to laugh about.
Philip who looked after all things office is a darling and nothing is ever a problem for him to solve.

We missed Sheung, whom is one of the co-owners this time round but we got to know Alex the other co-owner during our stay and had a
great time with him.

All in all, our group of six had the best time ever at CBR and can’t wait to return! Thank you all so much for making our stay so utterly fabulous…we’ll be back for sure!

🏖 The island of #tawava is probably the embodiment of the perfection in the Yasawa Islands group. And you will feel that from your first step here. I know that preparing a holiday comes with many questions, but allow me to make this easy for you, go for Coconut Beach resort and you will never regret it!
Located at the intersection of 4 islands, I expected the inter-insular water to be special and full of life as in a lagoon. It is actually many times above expectations and on a huge scale, as you can see in the pictures.
The beach stretches on the entire southeast and south parts of the island and is kilometric, populated by endless coconuts, some of them gently touching the water.
The sand is fine as flour and water full of multicolored corals. Beyond the palm trees, there is a huge garden, beautifully decorated and very welcoming, part of the Coconut Beach Resort Fiji resort.
We did a long tour of all islands in the Yasawas, and this is easily one of the best places, probably the most relaxing experience in Fiji. Hugs and greetings to the wonderful people there, starting with Sheung, Mike, Fosteen, Filip, Beta, Mr. Sulu, Api, Matthew, Mili and of course the unforgettable Watta. Take care of you guys, I wish you the best, and hope we will meet again someday. Thank you for everything!
Now the technical details for those that are interested: they run a limited number of bungalows that make the entire resort very pleasant. Everything is built in a beautiful tropical garden. The bungalows are spacious with open air showers and high quality bathroom products that smell divine. The central piece is a large open=space hall, with an ancient tree at one of the ends and facing the sea at the other. There you will have the meals and a 5 o'clock coffee with delicious pastry. Everything is delicious and during dinners there is live music from very talented singers! It was soooo good. The food is amazing and it shows the amount of care in making the guests feel just perfect. Every evening they announce the activities planned for the next day. They even helped us preparing a village trip and it was a very good experience for us as we had the chance to visit one of their remote villages.
There is a diving center handled by Mike and Fosteen . They were the best instructors! I already had some scuba experience, but the way they did it here was very professional . All technical details were covered and thanks to them I had a very good control over the equipment while in water and plenty of air for a very long dive.
When we left they sang the farewell song. A piece of us is still there.

Very special! There are no words! My husband and I stayed for 6 nights in Bure 6 and loved every moment here. In terms of style of resort, it is traditional, not luxury, though the bures are equipped with everything you need. Ours was in front of the water with windows facing the ocean. Some people mentioned the wind here being a challenge, but we loved it. The wind was not cold and it made for natural air conditioner in the room, which has no AC. We were surprised that we never felt hot when sleeping compared to other places that we stayed in Fiji, which were very hot. The activities varied daily and were very well organized and affordable. Though we were a couple, this resort also works for families with older children. It only has around 11 bures so it is a small resort, making the experience very personal. All staff members were beyond lovely (they are more like friends now!).

The food was delicious and they worked very hard to accommodate my husband's and my dietary limitations (on GF the other pescatarian). They have really, really lovely singing and music that sets a great ambiance. They were also extremely responsive and helpful when making reservations and even helped us connect with our mainland hotel when we were delayed arriving at the Port! Organizing this trip was so much easier simply because they went above and beyond before, during, and after.

We cannot say enough about this place. The cherry on top is the exceptional natural beauty that is everywhere you look. The staff go through great effort to show guests experiences that hughlight nature and culture and it exceeded our expectations in every way. If you are looking for a resort in this area, book Coconut. If you are anything like us, you won't want to leave and will cry when you go! Absolutely spectacular.

I am a bit tardy in writing this review, but we had a fabulous time at Coconut Beach resort. From the minute we arrived, all the staff seemed to know your name and remember it. I had some food allergies and they were always on top of that, offering me a substitute. The bures were roomy with ventilation on all sides so you could enjoy the night breeze, or close them all up if you wanted. I loved the bathroom, also very large, outside, but the sink and toilet area had a roof to protect it from any rain. It was lovely to take a shower with the palm trees and sky above you. There is a combination of free and fee based activities. It was hard to choose as I wanted to do it all. You can snorkel right off the resort at their reserve, but have other spots close by to snorkel. The staff sang at most meals, and when anyone arrived or departed. The resort only has 11 bures, so it was fun to get to know the other guests. There were so many cultural activities that really gave you the flavor of the Fijian culture. (Saturday evening performance, kava ceremony, visiting a village and school.) We enjoyed the cave excursion. (If you do that one, take some cash to buy handicrafts. They had a great variety and very reasonable prices there.) I was so busy doing other stuff I never had a chance to take out the kayaks or paddle boards.
The food was plentiful and a variety. (My favorite was the Fijian fish ceviche called Kokoda, could have eaten that every day.) There weren't a lot of salads, but being 4 hours away from the mainland by ferry probably has something to do with it. The staff is quite willing to alter something for your tastes, if you only ask. They also recognized birthdays and anniversaries with a cake and a serenade by the staff.
The only downside to the resort is the wind, as others have mentioned. (But it makes for great sleeping temperatures.) We had a couple very windy days where you would not have wanted to lounge by the front of the resort, but they would move some of the lounge chairs to another side of the beach out of the wind. They also arranged to take a boat to a more sheltered reef on a windy day for people that wanted it. It was supposed to be rainy season, but we only had a light sprinkle for a very short time on one day.
Also, Sheung, the manager or owner, was super responsive before our trip answering every question, and arranging all our transportation. We opted for a helicopter transport one way, as the timing of our flights didn't work with the ferry. It was a bit more expensive, but worked out really well and was a cool way to see the islands from above. We took the ferry back, and enjoyed seeing other islands. The resort was great, but the staff is exceptional, and we will cherish our memories from Coconut beach forever.

We have had the most wonderful couple of days at CBR. Although it was a short stay as we were island hopping we felt so relaxed from the minute we set foot on the island. We arrived by boat to the most amazing welcome from the staff and that continued the whole of our stay. The staff remember your names and you are always greeted with a big smile.
The beach and grounds will blow your mind. We couldn’t get enough of the beauty of our surroundings. The white sand beach, turquoise waters and luscious green palm
trees and plants. The temperature was gorgeous when we were there and the ocean had the clearest water I think I’ve ever seen.
We took out the free kayaks and paddle boards and were paddling out in the ocean just taking in the beauty of our surroundings.
The snorkelling from the shore is fantastic and you are given snorkels and fins for your duration.
The fact that the resort only hosts around 20 guests makes you feel like you are on a deserted island. Some guests will go off on a trip or diving or relaxing so you can be the only ones walking along the beach. It is truly idyllic. There are lots of excursions available and we thoroughly enjoyed the cultural activities. We have come away learning so much more about Fiji and Island life.
The food was delicious. As pescatarians we were well catered for. The compulsory food plan offers a set menu each day with generous portions.
If you want an authentic Fijian experience this is your place. We were sad to leave and wished we had longer. It’s a long way from the UK but we really hope to visit again. Fiji has captured our hearts. ❤️

Thank you everyone at Coconut Beach - Vinaka

Although the boat trip is around four hours we found the journey on the Yasawa flyer to be enjoyable. Stopping at the islands makes the time pass quickly and it’s lovely to see all the islands along the way. It runs like clockwork.

We really loved the 5 days we stayed at Coconut Beach Resort and hope to return someday to this super-friendly resort in such a wonderful country. The location is beautiful, the entire facility is welcoming and most of all, the host and staff are absolutely fantastic, ensuring you have a great time. The small size and isolated location of the resort is what makes it special. During the various activities, at mealtimes, and throughout the day at the property, you get to know the entire crew as well as most of the other guests staying there concurrently. Our beachfront room was very nice. We liked the large bathroom with its outdoor shower. The restaurant and bar were casual and friendly and the food was all very good.

We spent a lot of time snorkeling on the excellent house reef, a marine sanctuary not very far off the beach. It is in great condition with a multitude of corals in every color of the rainbow and plenty of marine life. We greatly enjoyed all of the daily activities/excursions. Visiting the village schoolchildren and church, snorkeling in the cave and at other reefs, and hiking to the top of the island were all fantastic. The guides/boat drivers were all well-skilled and very familiar with navigating the reefs around the islands. It was easy to be as social as you might want, both at the afternoon tea and the nightly happy hour when some of the guides and restaurant staff entertained guests with guitars, ukes, an upright single-string bass and amazing singing.

Visiting the Yasawa Islands and Coconut Beach was a wonderful part of our monthlong holiday in Fiji. The resort was exactly what we envisioned a remote island resort should be – small size, great scenic location, friendly staff, nice accommodations, wonderful food, and enough optional activities to keep you as busy as you want, or not. Our only concern at all, and not just here but on the mainland coral coast, was mother nature delivering intense winds blowing continuously for too many days.

This was the most magical accomodation we’ve ever stayed at! Coconut Beach Resort is well worth the trip on the ferry. We loved seeing sunrise and sunset from the same island - what a unique experience. There are only a small number of bures here and so it’s like you have your own private beach. There are a wide variety of reasonably priced activities running everyday and a number of free of charge ones. We made great use of the complimentary snorkelling gear and stand-up paddle boards. The coral and fish around Tavewa island are stunning and the guides are very informative. The staff at this resort went above and beyond for us and we were blessed several times a day by their idyllic singing. The food was also great and we loved having a delicious set menu picked out for us everyday. Complimentary yoga with Mela in the mornings was a great way to start our days! WE WILL BE VISITING AGAIN!

Bula! Everything can be posted to your room and your final bill can be settled by credit card upon check-out. It's always useful to have a little cash with you in case you want to visit the Caves or the Village and you wish to purchase some local souvenirs from the ladies in the Shell Market. But if you don't have time to change any cash, no worries as we can always work something out. Vinaka!

Hi there. Was wondering if the rooms have a private bathroom/ en-suite or is it a shared facility? Thank you!

Bula! All our rooms have private en-suite bathrooms. Our bathrooms are indoor/outdoor but very private so you can enjoy a revitalising shower looking up at the moon and the stars at night. Vinaka!

Bula Melissa, we have 5 standalone units: 2 Beachfront Villas, 2 Garden Villas, and 1 Seaview Villa. Guests can request standalone villas but we cannot guarantee a standalone unit. They are allocated subject to availability according to check-in and check-out schedules. Vinaka!

We have some great dive sites in the vicinity and we often see reef sharks, turtles, sometimes big schools of bumphead wrasse and other schooling fish, sometimes majestic spotted eagle rays. The corals are lovely and in good condition and there's an abundance of colourful tropical marine life. Visibility is good, there's not usually any current, and we generally dive between 12-18 metres for OW divers, although AOW divers can dive a little deeper. The cost for a one-tank dive is FJD165, and for two tanks is FJD320 which includes all equipment. We have a new dedicated diving and fishing boat, Fish n Sips, and our dive sites aren't too far from the resort. Please feel free to contact us direct for further information.

Bula! The Captain's Lounge is an air-conditioned cabin with comfy sofa-type seats, complimentary WiFi, snacks (potato chips) and beverages (wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee). You can come and go as you please, to enjoy the scenery on the upper outer decks, and retreat back into the Captain's Lounge if it gets too hot outside. If you choose the standard seating, you can still sit inside on the lower deck, and there are shady areas outside where you can enjoy the sea breezes without getting frazzled. The cost is FJD185 pp in standard class and FJD230 in the Captain's Lounge. We will pick you up in our boat from the Yasawa Flyer when it arrives in the lagoon to bring you over to Coconut Beach. This shuttle is free of charge. Turtle Airways is located at Wailoaloa Beach and they will pick you up from the airport and drop you off again. Cost is FJD400 per person each way. They have smaller planes that can accommodate up to 5-6 passengers. Pacific Island Air is located at the airport. The cost is FJD455 per person each way. They have larger planes that can accommodate up to 10 passengers. Hope this helps!
