The Blue Lagoon is a must stay on your trip through Fiji. The facilities are lovely, the food is amazing and the staff are warm, inviting and go out of their way to make you feel at home and comfortable. The new yurts in the “lagoon” are particularly luxurious and comfortable. The outdoor showers are a real treat. The food is phenomenal – everything is fresh, homemade and creative. The meal plan includes a five course dinner every night! They also opened a new japanese restaurant at the resort which would hold its own in the New York or San Francisco food scene and is well worth a detour if you’re hopping along the islands.
The location is in the middle of great scuba diving and close to magical caves, incredible reefs, good surfing spots and a lovely hike up to the summit of the island, which is a great way to start the morning. I loved the dive shop – unlimited diving for six days is the best diving deal in Fiji! The dive crew is professional and friendly and know the reef.
But beyond a well run and affordable Fijian resort, the staff makes you feel like family. Over half the staff come from the local village and grew up on the Island, so you instantly feel like you’ve walked into a family. Everyone teases and jokes with each other and they preform the nightly activities including singing and dancing. I felt like I was returning to my favorite summer camp – all of the staff felt happy to be there, knew and loved each other and welcomed us in with open arms.
My trip was a scuba diving trip, so I wasn’t expecting much of a cultural connection, but I left feeling like I had a family. So if you want the comforts of a resort, the adventures of fiji and the warmth of visiting your favorite cousins, a week at the Blue Lagoon will not feel like enough.

Blue Lagoon Beach resort is a long but very scenic (up to 5 hours) boat ride from Denarau, so it's worth staying more than few nights. As a solo traveller I've stayed in the dorm many times, and it's great value. There's aircon, individual bedside lights, towels and sheets changed frequently. The meal plan is quite pricey, but the food is good, and there's lots of it. I especially loved the fresh tuna and walu fish options each day. The 2 highlights for me are the amazing huge Lagoon with sandy bottom where you can swim at all tides, and the fabulous staff who greet returning guests like family. In the restaurant there's too many to mention everyone, but Tima, Bill, Mari, Maria, Ana and Leci were so friendly, caring and helpful, that I didn't want to leave. Vinaka vaka levu, I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We stayed in a beach villa for 13 nights for the first 2 weeks of Sept and had an awesome time. The room and facilities were well kept throughout the stay (we loved chatting to Louisa and her crew) - especially when a grass fire ripped through the hills behind the resort. The reef for snorkelling just straight off the beach is absolutely spectacular with huge variety of fish and coral. We also did trips to the village and multiple snorkel trips to other parts of the surrounding reef which was also amazing! Big Shout Out to the team - especially Tima and Mike (musician, fire warden! and all around total nice guy.) Everyone is so welcoming and helpful which is why Fiji is the place we keep returning too. We will definitely be coming back. I loved interacting with the staff while I did some Plein Air oil painting!

The Good The beach was stunning, very swimmable and had an amazing reef for snorkeling. The oceanfront Bure we stayed in was also beautiful, well decorated and clean. The staff were friendly, particularly at the dive center, they went out of their way to help my son with snorkeling gear, etc.
The Bad The beachfront bure was right next to the pool which is right next to the restaurant and at night they have ‘entertainment’ which my family found rather cheeky and embarrassing so we skipped it but still heard it LOUDLY in our bure. Some of the dining staff seemed a bit afraid of their managers and we saw a lot of forced smiles. Not sure what that is about but definitely gave a disingenuous vibe.
The Ugly I’m not sure if I was at the same resort as some of the other reviewers but we felt the food was actually really really bad. Some nights it was actually inedible and we all went hungry. If you want to order something else you are out of luck and they also charge you extra. There is no store or really anything on the island other than the resort so there is nowhere else to get food so bring snacks. Definitely the worst food I’ve ever had at an All Inclusive anywhere but didn’t compare at all to the other resorts we stayed at during our Fiji trip. It was very expensive but we took a helicopter and glad we did as the boat ride is 4.5 hrs one way and I heard many people say they felt seasick.
The Verdict We wouldn’t go back due to the food and lack of activities other than snorkeling and diving, but mainly due to the food. I think it would be ok if you’re just staying a couple nights but we were ready to leave by night 2. For the cost of the resort and expense of time and money getting there I think there are much better resorts in the Yasawas.

We had a fantastic time at the Blue Lagoon. The resort is bucolic and was a relaxing getaway for us. We loved hanging out in the ocean and having lazy stretches in the lounge chairs with picturesque views. We haven't been to an all-inclusive (meal) resort before, but we thought the food was wonderful and well-presented. The evening festivities were accompanied with music after a late afternoon kava ceremony. The property's staff went out of their way to anticipate our needs and were very welcoming during our stay. There is an agenda of daily activities, but swimming in the ocean and snorkeling near the coral reef was enough for us on this trip. Our room was large enough for a family of four but not luxurious. With our outdoor bathroom, I loved the novelty of taking outdoor showers in the warm air. The resort is fairly small, so there weren't overwhelming crowds on the property. The resort does take at least three hours to arrive by boat, but the serenity is well worth it. There isn't a general store on site, so stock up on snacks before your visit.

Amazing hard/soft coral reef full of fish at the beachfront. Friendly engaging and helpful staff (Maria, Mel, Tima, Veniana, Bill, Pena, Josh, Aeki, Joe, Eli, Sala, Anna, Louise, Massa, Wally and many more). Comfortable beds/pillows, very clean, beloved outdoor garden shower and covered bathroom. There is a tv but we didn't use it. We watched the Drua play with the staff. The beachfront villa was excellent. The hiking and coastal tracks were many, varied and v enjoyable. We hiked to red flag and over the hill to safe landing and along the coastal tracks, you need good hiking shoes lots water for this. The food especially fish dishes was varied and yummy, and lots of it too. Yum deserts. Tuna was amazing. Soups were surprising highlight. Staff helped us celebrate our anniversary and my birthday with special table decorations and the band's and staff sang to us, for no extra cost. The resort caters for backpackers, to mid rangers and those willing to spend more on beachfront. Accommodation for all budgets. The food package also includes the room minibar drinks on arrival (beers, cola, Fanta, sprite and waters). You fill your bottles of water at the restaurant. The wifi is amazing, we could video call our kids while there. The watersports on offer, snorkeling and diving trips as well as cave trip are awesome. It's remote, rustic, with a band playing at night during dinner. The cocktails are strong. Great for couples, singles, families. It's a very special resort and we fell in love with the island and islanders. Thanks for having us. We boated in and helicoptered out. Wow. It's not lavish or bling, it's more down to earth paradise luxury x

The Yasawas are known for superb snorkeling right off the beach, and Blue Lagoon has one of the best beaches and a reef in good condition. Sitting next to the older Oarsman Resort, Blue Lagoon occupies prime spot in front of a marine reserve, since 2019. Just make sure you head out well past the white post marking the coral restoration site. The resort accommodations range from the exclusive Yerts, to a dorm room. Meals are on a plan, as everywhere, and the range and standard is ok for the most part. The ever-smiling staff do their best, but the Fiji feast night was a low point in service and food. Eleven courses, but after 40 minutes we were still waiting for number 1, and that was only a small cup of tea! Half an hour later a tiny dish of clams came out - an acquired taste! Two hours in and about half way there we broke out the cards for a game between courses, while people in tables around us variously slumped in despair, or broke and left for bed. Every course had its own lovely bowls and amazing cutlery, and maybe that was part of the problem. Drinks orders were never taken. We stuck it out and before 10am enjoyed the dessert.

Blue Lagoon was wonderful. We felt at home after a few days - there is something very comfortable and personal about this resort. Staff and guests are very friendly and everyone talks or smiles, yet you can also feel private. The lagoon is great for snorkeling whether the tide is high or low, with little current and a good variety of fish. We had a beachfront bure just the perfect distance from the water, we could hear the waves and had a great view. The air conditioning worked very well. Sitting outside on the veranda, or in the hammock, or on the beach loungers provided a variety of comfortable options. The music in the evenings is very enjoyable, with North American and Fijian songs. The food is very good. We especially liked the coffee and tea station that was open all day so that we could just wander over to the bar and fix ourselves a cup of tea! That's like home. Of course it is the people who made it like home too. In the restaurant, Mari is like a mother, efficiently taking orders or looking out for the young children. Mari and Maria and Pen and several other restaurant staff did become like family. Our housekeeper Louise was good. Chantel and her husband are the managers and are very approachable and truly working hard to make it a great resort. The dive shop: Johnny is a very good dive master, and Mike helped with a snorkel problem. Thank you all!

Our family of 5 was blown away from the friendly staff at this resort. It took us many hours to travel from central Illinois, USA to this piece of paradise. The connection at the airport to transfer us to a boat dock to take a boat 3.5 hours to the island of Nacula was seamless. From the minute our feet hit the sandy beach at Blue Lagoon resort until the time we left our family felt " the love" given to us from the entire staff.
The food surpassed our expectations. The presentation of the dishes as they were placed before us was a work of art. Our middle daughter celebrated a birthday while we were there, it will be one we will all remember. The thoughtful staff Mel, Mari and another creative man decorated the table with flowers and made a flower crown for the birthday girl. Truly they went above and beyond with the energy shown to our family.
Our family participated in the many activities offered. We were taught how to weave a basket and participated in the traditional kava ceremony. We took the village tour, hiked the trail behind the resort , did the boat tour to the cave and snorkeling trips. We explored the coral reefs multiple times in front of our room. The paddle board and sea canoe were also a fun activity as well as the water trampoline and slide.
Our family week went way too fast. We left with a small group singing to us and thanking us for visiting. Holding back the tears as we left the resort with our hearts full and dreams to return again. BULA to all of you. You know what customer service is all about. 💕

This resort has it all, great staff, mid-range price for the Yasawa group of islands, nightly fantastic sunsets, good food, great cocktails, daily excursions if you want to do anything other than relax, and fantastic snorkelling straight off the beach. We loved every minute. Jo’s cocktails were sensational, actually all the bar staff were, as were our servers. Louisa serviced our beachfront villa before she took a break, such a lovely lady, as was her son. Big ups to this resort, we would love to return one day. We would recommend 5-7 days if you can stretch it out, about the right amount of time. And take some of your own alcohol if you have a beachfront villa (we had a super cold room fridge), you can enjoy sunsets and wine from your deck. Only downside was the cost of wine once we ran out, was on the pricey side but to be expected. Nightly happy hour too helped.

As far as I know, your meal plan fees will be added into your overall booking fees and you will have to pay 10 % deposit upon your booking confirmation and the remaining balance in one lump sum 40 days before you check into the resort. As for your drinks at the resort, they will be charged to your room and you have to settle your bill upon checking out. You can settle your bill with cash or credit cards, however, the transaction is in Fijian dollars or New Zealand dollars, not U.S dollars.
Personally, I would holiday closer to the mainland with such a young child. Its a 4.5 hr one way trip on the boat to get there. We have stayed at BLBR twice, and both times there were not many children at all. More of an adults resort.

"Do it! So worth the visit and the resort/beach/reef snorkelling is fantastic! Go at low tide (often advised to go at high tide) as its much prettier (as reef shallower)"
"* Pack enough clothes because you will never miss a day swimming at the beautiful resort.
* Pack some snacks especially when u coming from denarau to the hotel
