Great hotel right on the beach.Most rooms have a great view of the sea and sunset. Staff in general were friendly but with limited English.Check in was quick with a simple welcome drink. The music from the beach bar does get quite noisy at night until after midnight sometimes.They have a live DJ every night playing all upbeat dance music,which gives a club feel rather than a restaurant.They also provide live music performance every evening, but the choice of their music is still rather upbeat,which is a shame as they could just provide some soft jazz music for the beautiful sunset. The free fire show at 10pm is definitely a crowd pleaser and many people would gather around the restaurant area.The show is excellent, but stay a bit further if you don't want the fire to be too close to you as the performers would go around tables with their fire tools which could be quite scary for some. There isn't a beach bar per se,the restaurant serves food and drinks for the people in the restaurant and on the beach.So if your sunbed is not close to the restaurant, it's difficult to get their attention as they have limited staff there. They don't have a regular guard on the beach,(I do see a staff or 2 near the swimming pool and he would come over to have a look occasionally.) I could see non hotels guests using the hotel's sunbeds as they don't have the hotel towels with them.I once pointed this out to the pool guy,but he didn't seem to be bothered. Overall,it is a very good hotel if you don't mind the pulsating beat of the music from the restaurant during night time. If you could stay in the centre block where the reception is,it should be quieter as it is further away from the restaurant. The location is great,there are many restaurants, bars,massage salons etc nearby. The night market is about 10 min by Grab/taxi. Finally I want to thank their staff Maity specially for arranging everything I requested specifically.Her response is always quick and is ever helpful. I am sure we will be back again next year and hope Maity is still there to help !!

We stayed three nights at this resort at the end of our Vietnam tour.
The resort is situated close enough to the town centre but far enough away that you’re not surrounded by people. The grounds are very well maintained and they appear to take pride in the greenery around the premises. The beachfront location is spectacular at sunset.
We stayed in a panorama room with the circle bed which was an absolute delight. The room was oversized and the fittings were gorgeous. The bed was super comfortable and the pillows were the best we’ve experienced in Vietnam.
We found the check in process to be a little odd, as the resort requested to keep our physical passports.. to which we declined as these are our identity documents. We provided a 1,000,000 VND security deposit instead, however would have appreciated being advised of this prior to arrival.
We were dissapointed to learn that the poolside bar was closed the entire time of our stay and a lot of the offers advertised via social medical e.g floating meals in the pool, aren’t easily organised in the hotel.
If you like a quiet night’s sleep, this hotel may not be for you as the beach bar played music until midnight on our first night and on our final night, there were children screaming and adults yelling throughout the premises until about the same time… the rooms are definitely not soundproof.
Overall, we adored the room and the premises and would likely stay again.

Sadly I would not feel happy to recommend Sunset Beach. I was extremely excited about our up coming trip and so looking forward to it after a month of travelling around Vietnam. It did not live up to my expectations in the slightest.
The good points, room was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom and the hotel is in a great location for capturing the sunset. Other than that everything else was extremely disappointing.
The breakfast was chaotic, I have never been to a hotel where I have had to share a table with other residents. But there are not enough tables.
Same applies for the sun beds around the pool and on the beach, also towels. Not enough to service 117 rooms.
Sunset beach do not offer the option of charging to your room so you have to carry cash or a card with you all the time. We were also made to settle each round after they were delivered and could not run up a tab.
Bar staff were incredibly slow at delivering drinks and orders were forgotten or wrong.
Whilst our room had a sea view it was somewhat marred by the view of the roof of the restaurant.
The fireshow that was put on as entertainment was extremely concerning as audience members were encouraged to take part at spitting methylated spirit out. I also witnessed a near accident when one of the performers tripped over a hose that hadn’t been buried deeply enough in the sand.
All in all our stay wasn’t the experience we had hoped for and we would not recommend this hotel to friends or family.
What I would like to recommend is the beach restaurant next door. The food is delicious and half the price.

Great location and good vibes with private beach and chilled beach bar. Plenty of food and drinks on offer in the beach bar. The hotel is nice too and the rooms are very spacious with good quality bathrooms to relax in after a day at the private beach

The hotel is in the city center, located close to the sea, near restaurants, bars, and convenient transportation. The buffet is delicious, diverse and changes every day, especially the pepper-flavored drink when checking in made an impression on me. The attitude of staff A is too good. If you are looking for a hotel that has everything, this is the place. Location is close to the main street of Phu Quoc, lots of stores, massages, restaurants, laundry and other shops in a close walking distance. The sea is on the backyard, just a few meters from the pool and the hotels restaurant. The gym and the second pool next to it was also great! Gym was spacious and had everything you need for a good workout. Breakfast was delicious!
The rooms was clean and big, and staff was very friendly!
Cant think of a better hotel than this, worth every penny and we strongly recommend this to anyone visiting Phu Quoc.

The hotel in itself was amazing, the location was great, it was really clean, the food was good as well.
However, I must say that the receptionist staff was terrible. In particular, a member named yen Nhi. She was incredibly rude and disrespectful as she blamed us for not only her own mishaps but also misunderstandings caused by unfavourable weather that was out of our control.
Our stay extended from the 18th of December to the 21st, and we were unfortunately met with bad weather which caused our arrival to be delayed, all flights that day were delayed except for 2 international flights in the morning. When we finally arrived at the airport at around 9pm we could not find the escort from the hotel. When we called the reception desk miss yen Nhi said that there would be no car for us as the last car left at 4 pm. She then proceeded to say that she will not send a car out for us as the last lot of passengers have already arrived, blaming us for the fact that we did not call to inform that our flight was delayed even though ALL DOMESTIC flights to Phu Quoc that day were delayed due to bad weather. This was naturally something that all hotels and resorts should have been aware of as all the flights that day were delayed, other hotel and resorts’ escorts we talked to at the airport said that they had to wait there for the whole day as the flights were delayed. Because of this we had go and catch a taxi. This fiasco doesn’t stop here though as we ran into another problem with miss yen Nhi again. On the day of our departure we were told yet again that there will be no escort for us to the airport as we were supposed to book it in advance 24 hours, something that we were never informed of. She said she told us this when we first checked in, which she did not, the night we checked we didn’t even get a bell boy to help us push our luggage up to our rooms. We basically just got our rooms and left our identification at the front desk. We could only get an escort when we proceeded to talk to her manager. In short, she was incredibly rude and disrespectful, only further escalating the situation by denying her faults in not doing her job properly when we would’ve honestly been satisfied with a sincere apology as some situations are out of expectations.
