We arrived here after a few days at Little Vumbura. I am glad it was this way round. Little Vumbura was great but this camp is in a different league. The tented rooms are fabulous but they need to be careful to continually update. Our cupboard was rather falling apart and you couldn't open the drawers. However this was a...

Kings Pool's tents are amazing and huge.. each tent has a private plunge pool on a private deck overlooking the Linyati River.. the animal viewing and the staff is fantastic.. this Camp is a must ! Even though it may seem expensive, the price you pay will seem worth it when you finish your trip.. I promise..

Natural ambience on the riverside with great antique feel rooms. Great staff and service too. Located just across the Namibian border and overlooking a small Hippo river. Right from airport pickup and gaming drive through to the cap, everything was excellent. We were lucky to see Elephants and wild dogs hunting. Great experience overall

The location of this place is just unbelievable...You're overlooking the river, can watch hippos, elephants crossing, alligators...At night you are part of nature with amazing noises...We had some spectacular wild life experience, especially thanks to our guide who turned out to be the most knowledgable we ever had. You may argue that kings pool is a bit outworn meanwhile-however it...

Dear Klaus, Thank you so much for your personal recommendation of Kings Pool...highlighting the location, the wildlife, the guiding, the staff, the food and the accommodation - it is greatly appreciated! Operating in these sometimes harsh environments (rain, heat, etc.) does result in some wear and tear of the camp, so we are pleased to advise that there are plans...

Our first experience with Wilderness Safaris, and it was an excellent one. Management at the camp is outstanding, with food and accommodation the highlights. Staff was friendly and competent. Family friendly without lowering the style. The views over the river when the sun was setting is one for the memory box! We will for sure go again!

We had a great holiday here. The rooms, layout, guides, food, bar, service, wildlife viewing were all of a very high standard. The camp is highly recommended. One only realises the quality of the place when one visits other camps of a similar profile.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Named for Scandinavian royalty, Kings Pool looks out over a sparkling oxbow-shaped lagoon framed with reeds and punctuated by the occasional elephant moving through the water. Expansive decks in the main area echo the natural spaces, and an open-air 'kgotla' (boma) is the perfect setting for fine dining under the stars. Two hides - one with the water (and wildlife!) literally at eye-level - are perfect places to spend your siesta: elephant feet and trunks are almost within touching distance. End the day with sundowners on the elegant, colonial-style Queen Sylvia barge as she cruises down the Linyanti River. • 9 tents • 100% solar • game drives • guided walks • sunken hide • barge cruises • catch-and-release fishing ... more   less
