Initially had booked Mae Nam Villas, however due to COVID they were shut down. Thus moved to Escpe Beach Resort, it was troublesome checking in, due to the room booking through Bookings.com was a 2 rooms instead of 1. Khun Jeab was kind enough to modify booking accordingly. Checked into the room, everything worked fine, however the wifi at the Restaurant was not turned on. For dine in guests to use. Stayed for 4 nights in July, for visa extension. Don't know why on the 1st day, there were 4 people required to clean a small room. Im assuming 1 person could get the job done. Looked sketchy. Nevertheless Khub Jeab was able to accommodate a discount on the bike and get me a rate of Bfast inclusive for 800 Baht a night. Though Bookings.com showed 600 Bt, inclusive of Bfast(If Im not mistaken). So that was a little off. On wanting to extend my room night, for a late check out by 1 Hour, I was asked to be charged 100-200 Bt for the hour, which on a 600 Bt night room, seemed quiet exorbitant, considering I checked in only much later than the normal check in time, I had to wait until 3-4 Pm for a check in arriving at the hotel around 1 Pm, so that wasted some time for me. Either way Khun Jeab was able to extend my room, and May from Reception and the filipino Receptionist was pretty helpful. Im surprised that the Bfast spread was so limited in terms of the offering, but I'm assuming due to COVID, they needed to portion control im imagining. However a Bfast buffet is never portioned in such a manner, coming from a hospitality background, im surprised at the Service level, the FO staff were polite, however the F&B staff were not quiet accommodating, upon having Bfast on the last day, I was told by an F&B Waitress, I can't take my coffee mug to the pool side, which was absurd. Considering I was having a morning coffee by the pool. All in all it was a decent experience, other than the fact the Housekeeping staff and Janitors were hovering around the room entrance through the day, which was not necessary/required, invaded private space. All in all the experience was relaxing, as can be, however it could have been a little calmer if there weren't so many staff hovering around the room through the day. All in all Khun Jeab, the Filipino Receptionist/May were all helpful and accommodating given the situation and circumstances of COVID. A little accommodation on a late check out, would be welcomed without an extra charge.

Nice place, friendly staff but need to learn basic customer service. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and went straight to pool area, perfect location, great views, great sunset the place was packed at sunset. I decided to buy all the guests a couple of cocktails as it was cheap as chips, great Happy Hour prices. I spent 7,000 baht in a few hours no big deal everyone had a great time all the guests enjoyed the banter, managed to get everyone interacting with one another.

Next day back down at the pool the staff decide to start charging me fir goddam ice, this is what I mean about learning customer service. Why in God’s name would you start charging a good customer for ruddy ice. Let s sour taste in the mouth complained to all the guests we had partied with night before and needless to say, their pool and bar/restaurant was empty on a Saturday night. Stupidity at its best in Thailand, greed gets the better of Thais and it just goes on and on.

Apart from that I may possibly go back but won’t be so generous again I’ll use the facilities and party elsewhere.

Disclaimer: I paid 290 THB per night for a economy room. That is amazing value for money! As long the price is 500 or less I will give this 3 stars, but more than 500 then it might loose half a star.

The reason for this is that the room have problems. The shower is probably the worse I ever had. No strength in the jets and the rain shower head shoots water everywhere.
Location for the hotel is also far away, even from the main road. You will need to rent a motorbike to survive out here.

There are good things also. The staff is really attentive and friendly.
The restaurant Thai food is nice(stay away from the burger), and the price for beer is the cheapest I ever seen on an ocean front restaurant.

If you want a hotel that you don’t plan to spend to much time in and you instead will explore the island with motorbike or car.
Than at this price this hotel is amazing value for money.

Booked Economy room. We arrived with 2yo baby one hour before checkin and we were suggested to upgrade to Standard room or wait for "official" checkin because ALL Economy rooms were not cleaned yet. BS! manager lied to us as we walked through Economy rooms which were empty and clean! Anyway we upgraded to Standard because it was naptime for a baby and were given room close to reception (and parking). Due to poor soundproofing it was very noisy. Stayed only one night there and ran away.

There are so many ways to say what I’m about to say, and so many examples to support. But, the only thing I will say is, absolutely terrible!

From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff, along with the “manager” who “assisted” were absolute racist girls - anyone who was not Thai did not receive good service...if any at all. We saw this with another poor girl who was asking for her current reservation, along with the treatment we received for ours. Completely ignoring and not willing to help/assist in any way if it was an inconvenience for them to get off their butts and actually do their jobs! When we saw a Thai person/group come in, requiring any help or assistance, the staff looked like they were ready to lock their boots if the Thais had asked them to.

Also, don’t get caught in their “special promotion” of a deal, because it’s an absolute scam. We were told we couldn’t have another room because everything was fully booked, meanwhile, they were showing new guests other rooms that are available for a much more expensive price than listed. Then, when we showed them we had a leak in our bathroom, they finally decided to give us a new room (magically) because they couldn’t fix the leak. Later, we found a bunch of cockroaches in our room (no food left anywhere), but decided to just leave the hotel instead of trying to talk to “management” about it because of their total rudeness and unprofessionalism.

Aside from good beachfront location, there’s absolutely nothing good about this place - trust me, you can get much better rooms for the price you pay here, maybe even cheaper.

It's close to the beach and watching the sunset from this place is very beautiful.
We stayed in a bungalow which was close to the beach and restaurant. The room was small businesses fine. Bathroom is very small and nothing special. Some of the staff are friendly but some of them made the impression they are very bored. It was a quiet season and as well because of Coronavirus at this time very quiet.
Breakfast was fine but everyday the same. Coffee was terrible. Fresh juice was as well not fresh (watermelon, pineapple, coconut and lime was made fesh) all rest are syrups which is very bad for a place where you can get all fresh fruit from the market. That was disappointed.
The facts that the hotel is very outside made our stay a little hard. We did rent a scooter for a few days for our convenience.
Of course it's depends on which type of Traveller you are but for us it was way to far away and to quiet. We never had the chance to use the pool or sunbeds for once because it were already blocked from other guest's. The management could do something. Bar close at 10pm. Never experienced something like that before.

First impressions great as we were greated by the lovely receptionist called day,her and the pool are the best part of this resort. Every day I would see the front office manger I think her name is jeab arguing with guests over being charged for losing things from there rooms, towels, bottle openers and cups etc,my friend was charged 400baht for 2 cups that had been taken by the cleaners.we had the same problem when leaving as apparently a washing bag was in the room but upon the leaving inspection was no longer there, as I was arguing the 500baht charge for this bag my girlfriend told me she had just seen the cleaner put the bag behind reception, I lent over grabbed the bag and told them they were scamming me, they had been cought out but put it down to a mistake, truly discussting scamming tactics.one night me and my friend ordered chicken cordon bleu, the breaded chicken breast contained no cheese or ham,we didn't eat any of it and explained that it was not what we ordered, you would expect an apology and offer to change the meals, this should e delt with very easily y the restaurant staff but first they had to call the manager jeab (I believe she is from the Philippines) she came down and dissected both chicken breast to find a small piece of pink in one she claimed to be ham so therefore no refund or offer to change the food, we were so shocked by her attitude throughout our stay and uch a huge contrast to the young lady who works beneath her called day, she really does let the place down.i will try to attach pictures of the chicken cordon bleu.
If you stay here please be aware of the towel scam, if u leave your towel by the pool to long it will get taken buy the cleaners and u will be charged for a new towel upon leaving, the same goes for leaving cups etc out front of your bungalow on the decking

My girlfriend and I stayed at this "resort" for 2 nights and it was overall a really disappointing experience.

Pros: nice breakfast and food at the restaurant.

Cons: be prepared to be locked far away from the city center with NO possibility of transportation after 22:00 p.m.(no taxi service or scooter service, available till 21:00 p.m.). Also no bar service or restaurant service after the same time (so you are basically starving and no way to even go to the city center by yourself since the road is really dangerous and really black with high pendance). Even if you want to use the taxi the fee will be really expensive since neither the taxi wants to drive to this crazy road.
Stuff really unpolite especially the big guy and girl at the reception and they even talked bad about us when we were leaving even in front of our face!!)

I would never come back and highly not reccomend this place to anyone!!!

Enter the property down a very steep hill on the service side of the W. Once you are in the gulley then this is the only way out! You don’t want to walk. The beach is very thin and the sand is not Sandy but rocky. The bungalows are stacked in there like Lego blocks. The pool and restaurant are small. The breakfast buffet is poor. The orange juice machine kept pouring out juice but all they did was say “ don’t press so hard”. Even thought the units to the left and right worked properly. Then I rented a motorbike. What a POS, then they tried to say that I scratched it! BS! I had a video so no charge! But really pissed me off. The unit itself had separate pavers into the front door that makes it difficult to pull your roller luggage into the room. Also the hedges were poorly trimmed so that only half of the walkway was available! I did not put any tissue in the toilet and it still took three tries to get everything down! Why no English TV channels. None. The pet cats ran me off the restaurant bench seating the first night. The waitress thought that was “ cute”. I would not go back for half the price.

The worst place we ever sleep at! The biggest mistake I made is that I book for 12 nights. Those pictures on listing and booking are not even close to how the beach front bungalow looks for 120€ per night! Room has no even closet so you need keep your things in suitcase and jump over it all the time as the room is so small and dirty!

Just look at my real pictures you will never pay 120€ per night for this. Rooms are so close you can hear people talking and to not talk about the stuff who dont care about anything. People are making party till 4am and they just dont care. Whole resort dont sleep but they dont care and then tomorro "sorry".

I just cant beleive they dont care about the whole resort which was full while others making party. I cant believe that they cant even paint the windows and walls for the money they rent this filthy room for. Its like I paid 1600€ to sleep in some hostel and even worst as you can see on my pictures.

Of course you cant cancel but you cant even sleep on vacation! I can find one good thing about this resort just the fake images on their listings. There is also no beach as on images, the pool bads are also so so bad...

I never left bad review like this I rearly in general write reviews but this ruined our days on Koh Samui so...

The beach is easily accessible, as the resort is on the beach itself. As for other landmarks, such as fisherman’s village and walking street is a bit of distance away, so public transportation is required, if you do not have motorbike/car of your own - they charge a hefty price because the resort is very secluded.

Oops! Wrong hotel!! My bad. This resort would be quite out of the way for many things you want. There is a small store on the property, and they will probably sell cigarettes and possibly alcohol (not sure as we did not go into the store while we were at Escape). Koh Samui may have delivery options from different restaurants. I'd ask the reception employees when you get there or just go a tripadvisor/google search for delivery options. Koh Samui has a lot more options as far as food and they have taxi services to take you to places around the island but it is expensive. Good luck!!

Hi Charlotte, I’m not sure about the distance because I rent a car to travel around Samui island. Its cost was approximately the same as traveling by public transportation (van) as l traveled alone. Further to the road through the hotel was not well lit by lighting yet quite steep ramp at the end part down to the hotel so it’s so challenging. If you plan to go to Samui and just would like to hang around the beach, this hotel can be one of the list ( they have a private beach), while, if you would like to travel around Samui, Bophut beach area might be a better option.
