We have been to Koh Samui several times and stayed in different 5 star hotels round the island The Santburi is a Luxury beautiful place to stay. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe pool villa which are a new addition to the hotel and it was perfect in every way. We had agood size pool and a very private area outside to relax with sunloungers and bean bags.
The inside was immaculate with a good size sofa and TV the bedroom was really big with a large bed with luxury sheets and a huge TV a seperate shower and free standing bathtub with plenty of lovely products to use. We ate at the Beach House restaurant where the food was extremely good especialy the Beef Tenderloin you can sit on the terrace or the beach with a view of the sea. All the staff were friendly and helpful.Looking at some of the original villas there are alot of trees which looked like the villas might be more in the shade We feel it was worth paying more for the newer viias. There is also a very large swimming pool and a Thai restaurant as well as beautiful gardens

Dear Beach lovers,

It has now been two days since I checked out from the Santiburi Resort and I must say that I already miss the place. Everything that I wished for in a perfect beach holiday came true. Relaxation, nice beach, huge pool, water activities free of charge, complimentary afternoon tea and perhaps the best of all, the sumptuous breakfast buffet. The Duplex Suite stayed in was perfect. From the towel elephants that waited for me on the bed to the numerous lighting options available in the room. The bed and the pillow menu provided me with one of the best hotel sleeps ever. I was surely impressed by the selection of 6 different kinds of pillows. The Wifi was strong all over the resort, even around the beach area. Very unexpected, but a welcoming feature. The staff was very friendly and everyone greeted me as if I was a VIP. Well, words can’t describe enough how lucky I was for choosing to spend my holiday at this resort. A jackpot indeed!

For me, every little details matter. Especially for a 5-star resort. The nighttime preparation in my room where the staff put out slippers on the small carpet beside my bed, lighting a scented candle underneath the sink, and pull the curtains (both on the first and the second floor in my Duplex room) making my room into a cozy cave for the night’s sleep. The small details just didn’t stop inside the room. No, I recall at the breakfast buffet, I was ordering a freshly made juice at the juice bar. When my juice was done, the staff at the juice bar picked up a glass and he carefully looked at the glass to see if the glass was completely clean before pouring my juice into the glass (even though the glass was placed upside down in the first place). Nicely executed and again exceeded my expectations. All these small details. Noticed by me. Really appreciated. At the end of my stay, after checking out the hotel MD himself came out and waved good bye to me and my family. A gesture very rare these days. But again, I took note of it and I felt important. I have stayed in many beach resorts around the world (many of them 5 stars), and for the Santiburi Resort, it stands out among the 5 stars club. After my three night stay this time, I can confidently say that I would definitely coming back to Santiburi next time I visit Koh Samui.

The Santiburi had a great travel deal with the Thai governments We Travel Together. Our family of four stayed in a beachfront villa w plunge pool. Could not ask for a more relaxing spot, doors opening directly onto the beach. The resorts pool is the largest single pool I’ve ever swam in, easily 100M long and 50M wide. The spa had very good massages, the breakfast buffet had build your own omelettes and crepes, and best of all the Kids Club was open. Kids Club had a dedicated minder who played with our five and four year olds doing painting and crafts and reading and general play. There was a big indoor room and a small natural playground outside...we could leave them there free whilst we took a sailboat along the beach or a couples massage at the spa.

Highly recommend for future visits; even when all the Europeans etc are allowed back in Thailand, my feeling is this resort will still feel calm and relaxing with lots of privacy. A tell - we never left the resort all four days here.

The resort entrance is very elegant, and once we arrived at the reception area the receptionist gave us very heartfelt service and escorted us to the lounge to check – in. Our room was upgraded to Grand Reserve Pool Villa which is modern, luxurous and private. The villa is designed to provide unique functionality of the TV, bathroom, private swimming pool and other amenities. My mom and my dad enjoyed swimming and floating on the beanbag in the pool. The bed is incredibly comfy. The breakfast buffet line had numerous Thai and international food choices. We ordered fresh fruit juice from the juice bar to refresh ourselves. All staff are nice, friendly, very helpful and hospitality minded. My dad and I also enjoyed sailing the Hobie Cat with Khun Bird, the watersport expert. Besides the Hobie Cat, the resort also provides kayak, standing board, paddle board and other activities for free. We couldn’t expect more. Everything was just perfect! Santiburi is the best choice for your vacation on Samui Island.

Once you arrive to the hotel you feel like you are in very well cared exotic botanical garden. We stayed in the private villa which was very spacious and clean. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good but standard for this kind of resorts. Beach was quite and clean with plenty of hammock available.

The only real downside was quite expensive hotel restaurants. Probably 2-3 times higher from what you will pay in the nearest non-hotel restaurant.

I would definitely recommend this place for those who are looking for quite and relaxed kind of holiday.

Dear Oleksandr Y, Greetings from sunny Koh Samui. It is great to hear that you enjoyed a great stay with us and we indeed have a wonderful team to ensure that our guests have a stay that is as memorable as possible! Thank you for your kind words about our team, they are the true stars, they make the difference. We appreciate your feedback regarding the pricing of some of the food and beverage, we will continue to ensure that the excellent quality provides value to our guests. I would just note that the import tax and duty on quality imported goods is significant here in Thailand, which can sometimes be overlooked, however, this does not discount your feedback in any way and I can assure we will continue to assess all our pricing across the resort. Thank you again and we do hope to welcome you back to paradise very soon. Warmest regards, Regina Guest Relations & Quality Assurance

We stayed for 7 days in July. We had a two bed duplex apartment in the main building. There was plenty space and the kids liked that they had an interconnected room. It was good to still have a living space.
The room was spotlessly clean and very authentically decorated. Not dated! Just very in keeping with the hotel. We loved the style and liked that it was Thai inspired.
We were very near the pool, reception and breakfast area. The beach is only a 3 min walk away too.
The kids loved the pool. We had it almost to ourselves most days.
We loved that the towels and water was given out at the beach and poolside so there were always fresh towels and cold water.
The staff throughout the resort were all fabulous. Extremely friendly and happy. They made us feel very welcome and always made the kids smile and laugh.
My kids enjoyed the daily football, sailing, paddle boarding and Thai boxing.
My youngest used the kids club. She is 9. We left the kids at kids club and played golf one afternoon. It was great as the older two (aged 12) could go to the pool and knew the kids club was there for them too.
The food was very very tasty at breakfast. A huge selection. We all loved our morning smoothie!
The Beach House had themed buffet nights where we sat at a table with our feet in the sand.
We only wish the hotel had more of an atmosphere at night. Maybe some music or live shows. Everyone seemed to eat then go back to their own villas. We could have sat out and chatted to people and the kids might have made friends if there was more entertainment.
We took taxis 3/4 times along to Fisherman’s Village for the markets and other restaurants.
We also went Go Karting and visited the Big Bhuddha.
We loved Santiburi. The Thai people made this a place we will love and most definitely hope to return to one day in the future. Thank you!!

Dear Jenny B, Thank you so much for taking the time to write this comprehensive review which I have just read loud to my colleagues earlier today. We are really happy to read to that you had an enjoyable family holiday with us at Santiburi Koh Samui and enjoyed the Duplex suites and their location above our Children's Camp and close to our swimming-pool. I am glad to read that you took advantage of the proposed activities as well. In regards to the entertainment we have introduced live music on rotation in the evening at the beach house since the beginning of August. So we appreciate the recommendation. It would also be a pleasure to welcoming you back to our Village of Peace and Tranquility. Sincerely, Alexandre Frenkel General Manager alexandre.f@santiburisamui.com

We had a wonderful stay at Santiburi with our two teens. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The Grand Reserve Pool Villa was extremely comfortable and luxurious with a great outlook over our own very private garden and pool. This villa we highly recommend to others (couples or families). The beds were very comfortable. We loved the fresh fruit delivered to our room each day and the breakfast buffet's variety and taste was amazing. The fresh squeezed juices, pastries and freshly made omelettes and crepes were a hit. My boys ate about 5 plates of food each morning. The two restaurants had a good selection of tasty dishes and it was nice to eat right on the sand at the beachfront one. We also walked to various restaurants (Thai, Korean BBQ and Indian) all very close-by (and cheaper). Unfortunately we had a lot of storms and rain so we didn't go to the beach as much as we would have liked to, though we appreciated the staffs efforts to keep the beach very clean. The tiles around the main pool and on the way to the breakfast were a bit slippery after the rain so we had to tread carefully in places. Loved the lush gardens and tropical flowers everywhere. 2 for 1 cocktail hour was great as was the free welcome cocktail on the first evening. Appreciated the hotels efforts to be sustainable. The day spa is beautiful and the Thai massage was amazing. One tip - don't book your airport transfers through Santiburi or travel with their drivers around the island. Get a taxi or hire your own taxi/driver for the day as it will cost you half as much. Highly recommend the Samui Zipline nearby too - a great way to spend a few hours!

Dear KaznoDazmo, Thank you for your detailed and very nice review. We are glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay in one of our Grand Reserve Pool Villas and the stay with us in general. There was indeed an unexpected rough weather in southern Thailand during your visit but the sun is now back. Your note about the beach cleaning is also appreciated and has been shared with the team. Your point about the pricing of the limousine is noted for consideration and your recommendation about the zipline is also useful for the readers as one of the various activities that are available on Koh Samui. First time in Kho Samui, this was the perfect place to be. The resort is huge, with winding paths through lush vegetation, leading to luxury villas, some with private pools. I stayed in a duplex with a large bedroom and balcony overlooking the huge oval pool and a living room on the next floor. A great buffet breakfast is served on the beach with some tables in the sand. The dinner menu is impressive. I ordered a sashimi plate that was delicious and enough for dinner, but i forged ahead and ordered shrimp and scallops and savored every morsel. 3 large flavorful scallops and 3 jumbo shrimp made me smile. Usually I just take a couple stabs at the surrounding veggies, but they were so flavorful I cleaned my plate. It was so good I ordered the exact same meal 2 days later. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Signed up for a one hour Thai massage. The staff suggested 90 minutes so we left the time open. After an hour, I wanted one more hour. At the end of 2 hours I was very relaxed. Sanitburi was an amazing experience. Well worth the price. I look forward to a return visit.

Santiburi is a great - but not show off - 5 star hotel. The service is impeccable. There is a answer to every question, and the staff is very nice and responsive. We had a beach / no pool villa - perfect when you have a small child who does not know how to swim. It was litterally off the beach and amazing. Very well designed. The hotel offers a ton of free and some paying activities for guests so we had options everyday, including playing tennis every day, going sailing or windsurfing, giving the kids Muay thai boxing lessons. Last but not least, one of the truly amazing qualities or value proposition of Santiburi is their offer of services from kid, from an amazing kids club that takes your kids almost for the whole day and kids truly enjoy, to countless lessons with amazing staff members who enjoy so much working with kids. We stayed for 8 days, had a connection with everyone, and were sad to leave. we will be back.
