This is a decent, if not great, bungalow area on the north side of Ko Samui. It has A/C and fan-only options. I was first there in '04 and was back in '11. It has neither improved nor deteriorated with age-another family was running the place in '11. Certainly, prices have changed. Back in '04, I got a basic non-A/C bungalow for about 350 B a night. Last year, it was 550.

There's a basic outdoor restaurant & bar patio that shuts down around ten. In fact, the whole place rolls up the sidewalk at about 1030 every night, including weekends. For those looking for some peace & quiet, especially those with kids, that's a plus. One will hear scooters, tuk-tuks & taxis coming near the village late at night-mostly because of intoxicated passengers coming to sleep after partying on the party side of the island.

By far the greatest part of staying here is Maenam Beach. Hardly the greatest beach in Thailand but pleasant enough and no bungalow is more than a three minute walk to the beach. It seems especially "kid friendly" that way.

Be aware of a few things: the service is not bad, but not great. Recyclable garbage tends to pile up while noone seems interested in picking it up. There's little in the way of phone, internet, post, or groceries immediately at hand. The road from the main road into Palm Point is shabby at the best of times; during downpours it can turn into a dismal swamp.

All in all, though, Palm Point is not a bad option for budget/mid-range visitors to Ko Samui.

I have only ever eaten at Palm Point Village (bungalows) over many years and not yet staid there. The staff are wonderfully happy and helpful. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The dining area is raised above the ground level giving great views day and night of the beach and the waterway between Koh Samui and Koh Phangan.

Small bungalow complex on the beach in a secluded location - that's about it for positive features! The bungalow was old and in need of renovation (see pictures), partly moldy, when we arrived the fridge was out and another bottle of water from the previous tenant in it. Bedding was also not provided, instead an oversized towel was provided 🙄 I can't understand the current good reviews, it's not all good just because the location is great 🤔

Stayed for 3 nights in the 'near the beach' bungalow for slightly more. We were certainly very close to the beach which was nice to wake up to. The bungalow was fairly basic but nothing less than we were expecting for the price.

The location was good with a quiet beach. A taxi to the louder Chaweng beach will set you back 300-400B though so don't come here if you're looking for a party.

Only downside were the staff, although friendly, didn't give us a map of the island or explain what we could do during our stay which we have appreciated at other places. There is also a limited number of restaurants and other facilities in walking distance, fine if you're staying for a few nights like us but may be an issue if staying for longer.

Overall a pleasant stay away from the busier parts of Samui.

Very nice place to stay within half a minute walk to the beach, located a bit far from the main road and shops. Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Shared bungalow with two entrances, though it didn1t bother at all. Friendly staff. Many dogs.

We stayed at Palm Point over Christmas in a bungalow with a bedroom, bathroom, living room and balcony. We were situated only 30 second walk from the amazing beach which is very clean and quiet. The water is so nice and we spent several days relaxing on the beach here.
The location is good with easy access to a tourist information vendor, moped hire, bars and some amazing places to eat!
We hired a moped for the week to get around the island.
Staff were friendly, and the restaurant has good views of the sea.

The taxi from the airport was 500 baht which is good, at the reception you are greeted by 3 generations of a lovely family ran business, the room was 100ft from the beach with palm trees clean sand and a perfect sea for swimming, snorkelling is best done on the other side of the island on the reefs, the room was adequately sized with good working air conditioning, clean and tidy, ensuite shower and toilet with a nice outdoor seating area.
The restaurant is overlooking the beach, the menu has a full range of Thai dishes along with a selection of European options for the stubborn children lol.
All being said and done we could not of picked a better place to spend 2 weeks and will endeavour to return.
