Positives large room with good amenities although a little dated, kept immaculately clean by friendly staff, Breakfast service started fairly good for first 2 days when we were offered an a la carte menu to order from, fruit and pastries/rolls delivered to our table and a hot buffet, this was then replaced by a buffet and although food satisfactory the service at the tables for coffee, fresh orange juice became non existent and Crookery, cutlery just left to pile up on the tables. Tried asking at reception re buses to Valetta informed there were road works by the hotel and did not know where bus stop was. Courtesy bus to Valetta, only one daily leaving at 9am and returning at 4pm and limited places. Lovely pool area with plenty of loungers and towels provided but visiting one afternoon found used towels scattered all over the sun loungers making the area look very untidy. The menu from the summer kitchen pool side was also replaced part way through the week with a very reduced menu. On our last evening decided to eat at hotel as had pick up at 20.30hrs, arrived in restaurant at 7pm, placed order which had not been served by nearly 8pm when we asked what was happening, eventually served but sorry to say my meal of pork chap was inedible, meat tough, dry and tasteless, husbands chicken ok but to be fair not quite what we were expecting. From reading previous reviews we had high expectations for our stay but did not find that these were met.

Our first visit to this hotel and from the moment we arrived everyone was polite always greeted us and ask if we needed any help. Martin the concierge was a lovely guy and he gave us the sole use of a wheelchair which turned out to be a god send. The reception staff where also very helpful and polite they would open the main doors for us if they saw us going out. Breakfast was a bit of a car crash some days not enough staff and some didn’t seem to know what to do. The food however was good and it’s the first place I’ve had a decent cup of tea nice and hot and strong. The pool area was sizeable plenty of loungers and again the staff were very helpful. The rooms were kept very clean and again the staff were very friendly. All in all a very good time was had thank you everyone.

I would have given this hotel 5 stars except for their breakfast which was a bit of a shambles. They had still not recommenced their buffet service (although I believe it was about to start the following week). There were insufficient staff to cope with the amount of guests and many of us were left waiting ages to be served or for our meal to be served. It was a real shame because the staff were trying their best, but many guests were complaining. Apart from that the pool area was lovely, although I did have to draw reception's attention to the fact that there were swarms of ants in places, but these were then dealt with. However, they were beginning to come back by the time we were leaving. Although I do not doubt that we had an executive room on the third floor, it was described as a 'garden executive room'. This description needs to be changed. The 'garden' part of it was a slight view of some trees from over several asphalt roof tops containing air conditioning units. Many others who had booked this room were also surprised at their view. One would have expected a 'garden' room to be on the ground floor or at the very least have an unrestricted view of gardens. The hotel tried their best to rectify the fact that the executive lounge was only open for about 2 hours a day in the early evening. Our mini bar was kept stocked with free drinks (although obviously with a very limited selection and not what was available in the lounge). We were also able to have a free afternoon tea every afternoon which was delicious. We had this a couple of times instead of lunch. All the staff were delightful and went out of their way to be helpful. There was only one restaurant open in the evenings but they had split it in two and you could choose either the Rickshaw (which was an Asian fusion) or the Mediterranean. We had a meal in both whilst we were there and they were excellent. The hotel is well located within easy walking distance of several restaurants. I'm sure we will return to the Corinthia Palace next time we visit Malta.

We stayed for 2 weeks in the Corinthia Palace. The best thing about this hotel is the staff who ranged from above average to superb. We were always greeted by every member of staff, who always seemed concerned for our happiness and happy to give advice on the Island. If any help was required you got it quickly. The pool is amazing with plenty of loungers. There is a but however there were not enough staff in the restaurants this meant some customers waiting an hour and a half for their evening meal. Breakfast could be a car crash with a room and terrace full of uncleared tables. We therefore eat out more than we usually do. However do try the Rickshaw where the food is amazing. I would probably avoid the breakfast omelette which was the only truly terrible dish. Despite the problems I still highly recommend this hotel and some friends even got married there.
