Upon arrival it was a bit chaotic due to a strike (I think of the housekeeping staff). We were told to enjoy the parks and be back by 7 pm to get our room number. In the evening there was indeed a long queue as a lot of guests wanted to get their room numbers. The staff was really nice, smiling and helpful even though the pressure must have been really high. We had a room with Lakeview and it was clean and quietly located. The rooms indeed weren't cleaned during our stay (due to the strike), for us this wasn't really an issue as it was just us in the room and making up the beds, cleaning after yourself really isn't a thing as this is what we do at home, too. We did receive some presents from the hotel as an excuse, which was very nice and brought a big smile to the kids face. The hotel handled the situation really good and the staff made us feel welcome at all times. We enjoyed our stay very much and will be coming back. BTW I read in another review below that there were issues with table reservations. Please be aware that reservations should be made 2-3 month in advance, either via the App or by phone. This worked great for us and we enjoyed the restaurants we visited.

Night 3 of 5,we arrived in a chaotic Monday with employees I (guess) wanting more rights, had to go to the park because rooms were not available until 7pm. To be honest I read some recent reviews the day of departure from Copenhagen and felt a bit unsure what to expect, reality is that the park is indeed having some issues ( demonstrations, delays, demotivation) BUT as much as I would like to be treated as a princess and have paid for this lovely stay with my 5y daughter , the same I would like to thank the Disney staff to be here and make the magic somehow happen after the pandemic, lovely to see the friendly bond between staff in cape cod restaurant , had some hiccups but everyone is really very nice, and thanks for the staff for a free Mickey Mouse and biscuits for the lack of room cleaning! It’s not replacing the service but making the come back from the park a bit different! Again, the park is facing some storms but the people working there is just amazing! A special thank you to Salvator,Djbril and Felix from the restaurant dinner shift today at Cape Cod! Thank you so much !

We arrived yesterday morning at the Newport bay hotel around 11:40 and never could I have imagined the utter nightmare that awaited us! Firstly there was a strike protest directly outside the front of the hotel on arrival, a lot of security staff and armed police didn’t really give a welcome first impression. When we checked in around 11:45 we where informed that our room wasn’t ready yet and that we would be sent a txt msg as soon as it was ready. Whilst this is not ideal with a 6 year old, a 3 year old and an 11 month old baby, we where understanding and agreed to go to the parks and await the txt message. Hours later we returned after never receiving any txt message only to be told that we still didn’t have a room. By this time the reception area was chaotic with a long line of people all waiting to check in. While we waited for our room our children fell asleep on the floor! They had been waiting for 7 hours for the room at this point. Eventually at 9pm, over 9 hours after our arrival we got a room! But that wasn’t the end of the disaster for us. On arrival at the room there was no cot for our 11 month old, so I found a member of staff and asked if they could resolve this and bring a kettle to make up her formula milk. 30 minutes later we still hadn’t received anything, so we found another staff member and asked again. 30 minutes went by again and still nothing! I went back to reception and asked again (I did try to call but no one was answering) this time I asked 2 members of staff and my husband also spoke to staff about the cot and kettle and still we received nothing. Eventually I came across a blue bag on a shelf in the sink area, to my delight there was a pop up cot in it! Still no bedding so we put a bath towel down on the base and the exhausted baby fell asleep with no milk as we still didn’t have the kettle. I waited up for hours hoping eventually that someone would bring the kettle and by 2:40am I’d definitely had enough. Our baby had woken from her makeshift bed and was screaming hysterically for her bottle. I marched to reception and finally the staff member there got me the baby equipment that I needed. On top of all of that, the room was not cleaned properly at all when we got it. There was a used soap bar in the bathroom and toys from previous guests under the bed and the surfaces definitely hadn’t been wiped down. We also have a full board plus meal plan and where told by the concierge that there was next to no availability for any restaurant s for our entire stay. She booked us in to anywhere with a slot, not one was our choice with completely unsuitable times like 22:30 yesterday evening for dinner. Now I know pre booking is advised but guests should be told this is mandatory if there is such a shortage! We ended up just paying again for lunch today at the rainforest cafe, so the meal plan has been a complete waste of money. We also had a letter put in our room today stating that it hadn’t been cleaned and wishing us a nice day, really!! Frankly I’m completely disgusted with the service that we have received here at what is a 4 star Disney hotel. We payed a lot of money for our 4 night stay and we would definitely be happy to go home instead of staying here in this situation. I did ask to change hotels but needless to say not really an option! We are regular visitors to Disneyland Paris and usually stay at the Disneyland hotel. I am very reasonable but this experience has completely ruined our Disney trip this time and even a full refund wouldn’t make up for what our family has been put through!

I booked a three-night stay as a getaway for me and my wife, and we chose a Compass Club room to enjoy the extra perks. What we got was a small, cramped room with broken air conditioning whose size was no better than standard. No one came to clean up and service the room during our stay. We had to walk to the conciergerie to get a sewing kit, which was supposed to be standard equipment. Even the Compass Club Lounge was hit and miss, as the afternoon staff more or less blatantly ignored me and my wife and let us wait after we sat down - all while cheerfully serving any other customer around that arrived later than us. Our experience was well below expectations and not up to any Disney standard. The morning staff saved the day as they were always nice, and made breakfast a truly enjoyable moment. Based on our experience, the Compass Club is overpriced and overrated and definitely not worth the extra money. If you want a real upscale experience then book an Empire State Club room at the New York Marvel hotel.

Well I have finally got to bed in our first day in this hotel. It is now 9pm and we arrived at the hotel at 2 pm when we were told our room wasn’t available and we should (myself and my granddaughter) ‘go to the park and our room will be ready when we get back’. I wasn’t happy with that as had flown in and would liked to get my bags in and get changed before we went to the park. Anyway we left our luggage and dutifully went to the park. On our return at 7pm we were met with pandemonium. There was a queue to check in of I estimated 2 hours long. I refused to join this and went to a free desk and after persuading a cast member to speak to me I was told they had moved me to Hotel Cheyenne in a tone that they thought I should be grateful!! This was not going to happen. I had booked the Newport Bay because it has a pool for my Granddaughter. I was told I could still travel over and use the pool. What a cheek!!I had to refuse to move as the cast member repeatedly told me there was no room for us. When she finally realised I truly wasn’t going to move to the Cheyenne she remarkably found a room. Too little too late for me I’m afraid. Disgusting way to treat guests. The most unDisney welcome I have ever had in a Disney hotel. If I didn’t have my Granddaughter with me I would check out and leave. I am honestly livid and will never return here again.
