This is a great room for a single person, or if you're not planning on spending much time in your room. My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights to hike in Grand Canyon National Park in March, so we got a great deal because it was the off season. (This hotel is about a 30 minute drive from parking areas at the South Rim.) We stayed in a Queen room in the Motel across the street from the main building. It was very clean, and I actually really liked their shampoo. The area around this building is VERY dark at night. There were no outdoor lights on at all. I didn't feel threatened, but it might be uncomfortable for other people. Our room was VERY small. It had a queen bed in it, but we had to crawl into bed from the bottom because the walls were so close to the sides of the bed that you couldn't get in that way. The shower is not built for tall people. I am 5'7" and hit my head on the shower head! There was one kitchen-type chair in the room and a tv on the wall. The space on the floor was only large enough for one of us to stretch our sore legs at a time. (And we are not particularly large people.) The size of the room wasn't a huge deal to us since we were basically only using the room to shower and sleep, but if you wanted to hang out or spend any significant time in this room, it would have been a challenge.
They had great customer service! The people at the restaurant were happy to fill up our water bottles and give us ice. The little coffee maker in our room didn't work, so the front desk attendant gave me a new one! I liked the rustic decor, and our room had the Lone Ranger painted on the door. How fun! And like I said, we got a great deal!

I really appreciate your taking the time to share your feed back and being so open with us. Those little rooms at our motel across the street are a grand bargain when you just need a bed and shower. We have plans for the lighting situation, I know what you mean. The whole staff will enjoy your review and I hope you come back soon! Thanks, Becky

Found this place at the end of a long day of hiking and driving, attracted frankly by the thought that it was only about half an hour to the Grand Canyon. My expectations were not high, and the (relatively) low bar was easily cleared.

The staff (and if you have read any of my other reviews you will know staff is important to me) was well trained. The woman who checked me in easily managed to score me a small discount without making it seem an ordeal. Directions to the room were clear, the room itself (second floor, in the back) was clean, warm, and inviting.

There is a bar, and you can take drinks back to your room. Breakfast is not included, and frankly I thought the prices for breakfast the next day were high especially in light of the rather mediocre quality.

The substantive complaint I have is the Wi-Fi. Don't advertise you have Wi-Fi it you don't. Yes, if I wanted to sit in the bar I could get a signal, but not in my room. The desk clerk tried to get it fixed, but to no avail, and I heard from other guests that it had been a problem for their entire stay.

This would be a good place if you are traveling with kids, there is room to run around, a picnic area, and large rooms. You can do a lot worse, and if they fix the Wi-Fi you won't do much better for the price.

I really appreciate your taking the time to share your feed back and being so open with us. Usually, our WIFI is awesome for being in our remote area. I'm very sorry the service was not available to your room, we might have an access point out, thanks for letting us know. The staff will be happy to read your kind comments. Hope to see you again soon! Denise

We stayed two nights in December as this is the closest affordable hotel near the Grand Canyon. While the weather (snow and poor visibility) certainly is not the Inn's responsibility, the accommodation did not help improve our first experience of AZ. On registration, we were informed that due to COVID, there would limited service. Limited is the word. We received one key for the room which came with instructions: "guard it with your life, it's the only one we got". Despite the room being drab and dated, it was clean, the heating and black-out drapes worked a treat, and the bedding was colorful and adequate for the cool temperatures. The bathroom seems to have had a recent tile update - nice job. As there was no room service, coffee, towels etc. were not being replenished. The cable TV only had three stations without interference, none with news or movies. We had a room upstairs, so we did hear people walking along the corridor. But considering the hotel is near gas stations, we were not disturbed by traffic. The location is very rural and there are a restaurant and a bar onsite.

I spent a week in Vegas before coming here and it was spent in a hotel/casino that smelled of marijuana and had a loud air conditioner. Coming here was literally a breath of fresh air. The staff was friendly and the room was clean with a nice fresh smell. In the hotel in Vegas, I removed the air filter which was totally clogged and smelled terrible. I did the same at this hotel and the filter was clean! The air conditioner was super quiet and we had to turn it down several times because it was getting the room too cool. We had to fight the one on vegas to get it to cool down. I was most impressed with the furniture. Every bit of it was hand crafted natural wood! Very beautiful and whoever made it took a lot of care in crafting it. You could tell the owners have invested a lot of money and time in this hotel and you wouldn't think of it when you compare hotel prices. They were very reasonable! I would come back here again. Its not that far of a drive to the Grand Canyon and well worth the stay here. The prices of the hotels that are close to the Grand canyon are astronomical and corporate hotels. This hotel is locally owned and it shows that the owners and management care about their customers. I give it my highest recommendation!

Thank you for showing me the video you took of our property. My favorite part was your wife, she is a classic Mom. The whole staff will be tickled to read your comments as most of us have been to Vegas more than once. Hope the rest of your trip was awesome too. We'll see you next time! Becky

I am not trying to knock other people's reviews, but seems like people don't do research before they book motels in the middle of nowhere.

I booked this room because the room by the canyon were over 300 per night, and the hotels in Williams were over an hour away from the canyon. I found this motel was between Williams and the grand canyon and had an affordable price (119 for the night). This is a small motel in a very remote area between the canyon and williams. So food and restaurant options are scarce. I knew this when I booked. I tried to check in around noon but was told that due to staffing issues, rooms wouldnt be ready til after 3. That was fine since I decided to just go visit the canyon for a few hours. What a site to see!

Around 6 we came back and our room was ready. Our room was located in a seperate little area about 100 yards down the road. The room was pretty cool! Very rustic feel and decor. Was pretty cool! the room seemed clean and the beds were SUPER comfy. I REALLY liked the mattress in the room. I got an awesome sleep after a long day driving and walking around the canyon.

There are only a couple channels on the TV to watch. Most people dont come here to watch TV though. At least I didn't.

Trying to checkout was an issue as I was placed on hold and no one picked back up, and then no one would answer the phone for my second call so I just left the keys in the room and took off.

I ended up eating dinner in their restaurant attached to the motel. Its open from 5-9 for dinner. Nothing fancy here, burgers, sandwiches, an couple basic entrees. I got a burger that was good. Came with fries that were fresh and hot. Got the fried mac bites. I would pass on those. Inside the bread was almost empty.

Overall it was a good stay. Just remember youre in the desert near the grand canyon and this isnt some 5 star hotel. If youre looking for all the fancy amenities, you may want to either stay in Williams, or pay the 300 a night to stay in the grand canyon park itself.

After driving 6 hours away from home & having our prescheduled/prepaid Airbnb cancelled upon arrival, the staff of the Grand Canyon Inn gave the kindest welcome to our discouraged party. They were sympathetic to our franticness over having nowhere to stay for the night, and were sure to take care of us; discounting our room price and teaching us about the area. We got take-out from the Inn's restaurant for the following two nights and enjoyed it very much (the fries were our favorite). The facilities were clean and the outdoor seating was very accessible and enjoyable to use. Driving from the property to the South Rim entrance of the Grand Canyon took a mere 25 minutes. The staff, both behind the desk and working for the restaurant, were lovely and personable. The GCInn was a great find and we are so lucky to have found it!!!

The Inn and Motel is a quirky looking old style place. Checkin was simple and we were directed to our room 120 which was in another building so drove round to park nearer the room. We were ground floor room 120 which was nice and big although the lamps didn't work and the TV channel options weren't great. It was clean and had everything we needed and was quiet at night. There's an indoor corridor leading to the rooms where we could hear the cleaners quite early in the morning and we were aware that it seemed anyone could walk into the corridor area (ie. non guests could walk in off the street) as the key was only for the room.
We went to the onsite restaurant which was quiet but decent and had nice food (mozzarella sticks, chicken wings and Swiss burger and fries) we then took our drinks from dinner into the small hotel bar which is by the reception and stayed there for a short while.
It did the job for us to stay there but there wasn't really any other choice. I have stayed in Tusayan twice before which I do prefer but Valle got us slightly further on our journey and was cheaper.

No. I can’t recommend staying here. The property is run down. The air conditioners are old wall models and don’t work well. The windows can’t be opened unless there’s an emergency according to signage. The information sheet given hotel guests is sloppy and confusing. We didn’t get a “welcome” email until the day we checked out. The bathtub doesn’t drain. The shower head was old and corroded and didn’t function properly. Small specks of something were in the desk drawer. A bar soap packet was opened on a bed post when we entered the room. Don’t stay here. You’ll regret it.

It started out well. The room is large and pretty and the furniture adorable. The beds were comfortable. That was it. The pillows were flat and hard. The bathroom fixtures (faucet, handles, and showerhead) hanging loose from the wall. Water supply wasn't affected, but we were worried about leaks inside the wall. Maintenance said it was fine, he'd fix it after we checked out. The tv is attached to a cable that goes into the wall but it only gets 3 to 5 channels that are fuzzy. They are cable channels. The desk said signal is terrible out here. Again, they were cable channels! Discovery, Sci-fi, and HGTV, sometimes Teen Nick and Food. The remote was not only unable to set up channels, it wouldn't even set a sleep timer. The tiny a/c unit was way too small for that large a room. It never got to a comfortable temperature. Three times it entirely shut off in the middle of the night for no reason, not even a fan going. The restaurant was neglected. The upholstery on the benches was torn. We ate there 3 times and, while the food was good, every time I think they had to grow the food before making it. The servers were great, though. And the bar makes a great watermelon margarita.
We paid $121 per night per room for 2 rooms for 4 nights and I'm pretty sure any chain motel 30 miles away in Williams would have been a better deal.

The room on the second floor of GCI's newer building is spacious and clean. There is a large, lovely courtyard, between the new buildings and the office/restaurant. Restaurant offers standard American, and some Mexican, fare of good quality. This motel is about fifteen minutes' drive from Tusayan and the entrance gate to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
