Disinterested reception staff. Nice cheerful cleaning staff. The room is quite dark but large with a kitchen that has minimum amount of cutlery and crockery. OK bed(s). Air con only just copes if left on all the time. Archaic TV that should go to the tip due to the inaudible sound quality. Poor shower that is impossible to regulate with lots of scalding water. The bathroom needs a good deep clean, lots of mould in the corners and dirty taps/shower. Good wifi and fridge/kettle/microwave. Best bit is the location. Around 2km from Central Festival area (20 mins stroll). Great beach, lots of restaurants and supermarkets in the area. Overall OKish value but with a little bit of effort it could be excellent.
My two kids (3 and 1 years old) loved being so close to the ocean and pool. Staff members hang out by the pool ready to set up a table, beach umbrella, and lawn chairs for you. We usually had ours set up right on the beach. Hotel restaurant had decent food, but on some days, I packed my own snacks and drinks since our place did have a kitchen. Samui Beach Apartments is a part of Seascape beach resort. Breakfast is served, but it isn't included if you are staying in Samui Beach Apartments. They are only for guests staying at Seascape. With that being said, you can purchase breakfast for I believe 200 baht. But we always went across the street to the left to Pott's Guesthouse restaurant (upstairs). A breakfast set menu cost 120 baht which included eggs, bacon, toast, fruit, coffee or tea, and a juice. Can't beat the price. We also loved their banana pancakes with chocolate syrup (zero calories, right? :0) Our server Me-Ann was very friendly. Gave lollipops to my girls. As for the room, well, my only concern was with the bathroom. The water ran yellow sometimes, hubby said it is probably because of rust. But still, yellow water? Yikes. Also the shower head handle was peeling so I had to be careful when holding it as I didn't want to get a cut on my hand. This accommodation is not in the heart of Chaweng, more on the quieter side.…
We stayed in the apartments - located away from the pool, up 3 flights of stairs, with no lift which made it difficult to carry our luggage. The rooms were basic but very spacious and if refurbished had potential. However, during our stay we experienced several problems including the a/c leaking and yellow water flowing from all the taps. The bath tub and sinks were also stained yellow. If we had not stayed in 10 other hotels, all of which did not have this problem, we would have assumed this was due to Thailand sewage systems. The lady on reception was extremely rude and cared more about what was happening on her phone and socialising with other staff then talking to paying customers. She eventually sent the maintenance guy to our room who could not speak any English. He checked all the taps then left the room and never returned. I went back to reception to ask what was happening and the lady on reception gave a rude response and the problem was never solved, neither was the a/c. We also had to ask for some light bulbs as many were not working, luckily they did put some in for us. Have never been to a hotel with such a miserable and unfriendly receptionist. However, the lady located opposite reception selling trips was very friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend using her if you want to book any activities - we went on the safari park and had a great time. The location is nice on the beach but is at least a 20 minute walk to the main center, so there's not a great choice of restaurants nearby as it is more in the quieter area. The pool area was clean, the beach was nice and the cleaners were always smiling. The rooms near to the pool looked nice and more modern. But because of our experience I wouldn't recommend staying in the apartments.…
We spent one night at samui beach apartments in a standard fan room. It is in a great location, right on the beach and only a 10 minute walk to any bar and restaurant. The room itself was very clean and the staff were very friendly. Would go back again.
We were downgraded from the apartments to the family room for no reason. Of course they charged us less for the downgrade. No lifts so you have to carry your heavy baggage to the top floor. Our room had excellent WiFi connection. The room had a bedroom and a kitchen comprising of a sink, small fridge, microwave, kettle and microwave proof plates, bowls, glass, cups and saucers. The pool and the beach in front of the hotel was an added advantage. Good discounts were offered by the in-house travel desk for tours. The location is a bonus as located in the night market street of Chaewang beach and there are plenty of travel agents. spas, restaurants, shopping, seven eleven and medical shops around. No regrets staying here.
