The Bandara Resort and Spa Samui is celebrated for its vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, complete with engaging activities and spacious accommodations that are complemented by thoughtful touches. While the hotel's friendly and professional staff have garnered acclaim, occasional service delays have been noted. Its prime location is a stone's throw from Fisherman's Village and the beach, adding to its allure. Although the rooms are generally appreciated for their size and cleanliness, some guests find the decor outdated and the noise levels bothersome. The hotel's amenities, particularly the variety of pools and the relaxing spa, are frequently lauded, as is the exceptional cleanliness maintained throughout the property. When it comes to value, guests recognize the reasonable pricing, despite some elements being considered overpriced.

We spent our honeymoon here and would do it again, the price-performance ratio is top :)

When we arrived, the bed was beautifully decorated with a swan made of towels and rose petals, the Plunge Pool Villa offers plenty of space, a large bed and the best thing is the outdoor area - small private pool, covered lounge area, as well as table and chairs with a parasol on one side and an outdoor shower and bathtub on the other side.

The hotel is not brand new, but everything is well-kept and clean, the complex is beautiful, there are enough loungers with parasols by the pool and also on the beach.

The breakfast offers a lot of choice, there is something for every taste.

In the evenings we often went to the nearby market, where you can eat cheaply and well, or to the Fisherman's Village.

There is a daily shuttle service to Central Lamai, which we used, but we also rented a scooter twice from the hotel, which worked well.

The staff is always friendly and helpful, you are warmly welcomed with a mango juice. Kitti deserves special mention, as he speaks great German and was always there for us.

If we ever travel to Koh Samui again, we'd love to go back to the Bandara :)

Here you quickly feel very comfortable.

A great atmosphere, great, helpful and friendly staff.

Pom from the Beach Bar literally reads the wishes from your eyes, and is always attentive!

The German-speaking Kitty will help with any problems and questions.

There are happy hours at both bars where you can get two drinks for the price of one.

The whole hotel complex is clean and well maintained. The pools are heavenly, and the beach is also enchanting in good weather.

We are staying for three weeks in a plunge pool villa, thus have a small heavenly realm just for us with private pool, a small gazebo to lie down on as well as an outdoor shower and bathtub.

The breakfast buffet is rich and there is something for everyone. Fresh fruits, cereals, steamed and Asian as well as for children pancakes and other small treats. There is also an egg station where you can get eggs freshly prepared in all the desired preparation methods.
Again, the service is perfect. Used dishes are cleared immediately and everything is clean.

The location is central, walking distance to Fisherman's Village and the night market there, and there are supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies and massage parlors in the immediate vicinity.

We spent 12 nights at the Bandara Resort and Spa on Koh Samui, in a family suite (417) and we had a fantastic time at the resort. We were collected from the airport by the hotel which was a plus after flying from Australia.

All of the resort staff were super friendly providing great service. We used room service a few times and the food arrived hot and fresh. Diamond & Pom, the gents who manage the main pool area, were fantastic looking after us, providing us with food and poolside cocktails with A1 service.
We saw reviews about pool chairs being blocked with towels - we did not see any of this, in fact it was quite easy to get chairs around the pool.

We used the spa a few times having Swedish massages - wow, 10 out of 10 for those treatments. The breakfast was great each morning and generally the food in the resort was fresh and of good quality. The hotel's location is excellent with many restaurants close by to chose from if you decide not to eat at the hotel. The street markets 3 nights a week was also a great experience with fantastic quality food.

The reception staff arranged tours for us, including a private tour for just us which was great. We will definitely come back and stay at Bandara resort & Spa. Thank you for making our stay a pleasure.

The Bandara is a great hotel right on the sandy beach in Bophut. Very tidy, clean and always very friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and everything you need is there. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. The hotel is in a perfect location for excursions or for walking to the night market (the night market takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays). There are also small local restaurants, a pharmacy, a laundry and supermarkets in the immediate vicinity. We would also like to thank the tour guide Kitti again, who organized a fantastic trip for us on a private long thai boat. It is worth booking excursions through the hotel as it is often cheaper here than elsewhere and you don't experience any nasty surprises as everything is perfectly organized. It was definitely not the last time we were there.

What a great resort. It's not the most exclusive resort but its a real resort. The resort itself was fantastic, from the lush vast gardens, rooms, facilities, restaurant on the beach and the warm lovely staff. The Pool area was great with its cabanas and the beach area was a delight to laze around for the day being so close to the bar for drinks and food. The resort was extremely clean and workers always clearing up the gardens or cleaning common areas. I would highly recommend this resort if you are a family, a couple or even just a mum and daughter team as we were. The resorts location was very close to the Fisherman's Village and its markets so quiet its enough to relax and close enough to walk to fisherman's village for massages, fun and lots of food.

First of all I would like to say thank you for the warm "welcome home" we got at arrival. This was our third time visiting, last time was in 2018.
The family room with the bunk beds are perfect for families, with more than enough space, and even had 2 showers. Ours was situated right by the garden pool, which was just perfect for the kids. The room was cleaned very well every day, and bottles of drinking water was given every day.
By the big garden pool there is a pool bar, where you can order nice food and drinks all day. There is also a pool with 0,50m deep for smaller children.
Down at the beach there are 2 more pools, one for adults only.
The beach bar has beautiful ocean views, very nice foods and drinks. We enjoyed lunch here every day, and drinks some nights. Diamond, who is working down at the beach bar, is such a nice, warm and funny guy, who always made us laugh. I must say all the employees at Bandara are so nice, helpful and always smiling.
Breakfast is very good, with lots to choose from, and just so nice sitting almost right on the beach with beautiful ocean view.
Now, there were a couple of things that made this stay not as perfect as the other two times. The resort was packed. The big garden pool was so noisy and full of kids screaming and playing, that is was actually stressful laying there. There was one dominating family, of at least 12 adults, young children and teens, occupying one end of the pool every day, with heavy playing and screaming and just being very noisy. They were there for our entire stay, so they might have contributed to the chaos up in the garden pool.
Unless you had breakfast at 7 am, the breakfast was a stressful event, with way too many guests, way too noisy and not the relaxing start of the day I prefer. This is not the fault of the hotel, this is what we as a family prefer. We prefer lesser people, more calm, and no screaming and heavy playing in the pool. That being said, this place is perfect for families with kids.
Another thing that disappointed me is the reservation of sunbeds from early on. One day almost 80% of the sunbeds by the big pool where reserved with towels already by 8:30 am, and for most of them no one came until 10. Some even at noon.
This is absolutely not okay, and I wish the employees would remove those towels.
We actually removed towels from two sunbeds that had been reserved, and not used, for 4 hours, so a family with 2 small kids could use them.
I would recommend to have this behavior stopped immediately by consistently removing towels on sunbeds that clearly has been reserved. This made us get up early every morning, getting to breakfast quickly so we could get to the pool by 8:30 am (which is way too early) just so we could get at least two sunbeds, although we are 4 people. Such a shame.
The grounds and gardens are very well kept, and our son played football at the designated grass area almost every day. You can also rent or borrow kayaks, which we enjoy very much, but didn`t do this time.
It is a 5 minute walk along the beach to the walking street of Fishermans Villlage, which makes it so easy to walk to and from.
There is also a lovely spa at Bandara, which I highly recommend.
Thank you Bandara, for welcoming us back once again.

My husband and I stayed for ten nights at Bandara in a "deluxe" room facing the main pool on the 2nd floor in building 3. The room was of a good size, with two comfortable queen size beds and a big balcony with a daybed, two chairs and a table. My sister and her family had a family-room on the ground floor in building 4. I would prefer building 3 (or 5) if were to return.

The main restaurant is right on the beach, with the beach bar next to it. Both breakfast and the a la carte menu had a broad and varied selection. We had breakfast included, but also had all our lunches at the resort's restaurant. The staff is patient og friendly and there's a really nice informal and relaxed atmosphere at the resort, but not at the cost of profesionalism.

There are plenty of sunbeds both by the pools and on the beach. And the main pool has a good size. With two other pools (one for adults only), and one kiddie-pool, it never feels overcrowded in and around the pool.

Two bottles of water (if you leave tip on the bed, they give you three), and bath towels are provided free of charge every day.

The resort has a perfect location on Bo Phut Beach, and is within walking distance to Fisherman's Village. Outside the resort there's a busy street with massage parlours, laundrys, grocery stores, different shops, cafés and restaurants - and a go cart track.

The only reason why the resort is not getting "excellent" from me is because of what we experienced as a somewhat random housekeeping service. The first couple of days were ok, but then there were some days where housekeeping wasn't done with our room until late in the afternoon (5.30 p.m. at the latest). During these days we also experienced that all the towels weren't replaced, even though we put them on the floor as instructed by a message in the room on arrival. The last few days there was nothing to complain about though. My sister and her family had a similar experience.

All in all a very pleasant experience, and a place we gladly will return to.

PS! The seabed is quite muddy once you get a few metres out in the water which can make the water quite murky some days.

The Bandara is a beautiful, comfortable and well maintained Resort. The swimming pools and gardens are immaculate, however, similarly with many resorts, the rules regarding sun beds are ignored. Staff should remove towels from “reserved” Sun beds that are unattended for at least an hour.

The breakfast is quite good with lots of variety and the food served at lunch in the evening offers a large menu with plenty of choice.

The Beach Bar is my main source of complaint, although the drinks and snacks are varied and well presented, the Staff really need more training in Customer Service. We were there for 10 days and had lunch at the Beach Bar almost every day. Not once, during that time, were we ever offered a Menu, not once were we approached to take our order, not once were we asked what we would like to drink and once we finished a drink, not once did a waiter ask us if we would like to re-order. Every time we had to try to catch the eye of one of the waiters, who would avoid eye contact and appeared to totally ignore customers.

New customers would sit and wait patiently for service, and others, (who knew there would be no service) would say things like “It’s no good waiting mate, you need to call out or go to the bar”. We saw so many dissatisfied customers. The staff acted as though they couldn’t see you, however as soon as you went to leave, they would rush after you to sign the food receipt, sometimes chasing customers onto the beach or up the path - so they were watching you after all.

If the Beach Bar do not want to supply table service, there should be a sign on each table, such as “Please order from the Bar”, otherwise the Staff need urgent training in Customer Service.

This resort has been delightful to stay in. Comfortable, spacious and clean rooms. A wide selection of food at the breakfast buffet daily. The pool has been a highlight to refresh in every day.
But the biggest assets to this hotel are the staff.
Kitti is a wonderful host and always made an effort to check we were having a wonderful time. He helped us to organise day trips for a reasonable price and always checked in about how our experience was. He made us feel welcomed and cared about throughout our stay.
We also took a sightseeing trip run through the hotel. John was our driver and he did a wonderful job showing us the important sights, taking our photos, and always providing fresh cold water throughout the trip. Would 100% recommend this tour.
This has been a delightful place to stay. So central to many things you want to see and do. I will be back again!

The best decision we made to stay here for our first visit to Koh Samui. The location is amazing and the sea view is superb! We are only a few minutes walk to the Fisherman’s Village and you can get there from the beach side or the front side of the hotel where there are also shops, laundry service and restaurant-yes! 7 Elevens!

The Plunge Pool Room is a dream room. The room is cleaned everyday and we get fresh and ample supplies of towels, toiletries- shampoo, conditioner, body wash. Water! Potato Chips and M&Ms!

Food is amazing at the hotel itself. Beachfront Chao Don. There is a Fire Show on Saturdays and our own little night market and special events buffets. The pools are marvelous!

Heads up, look out for Kitti Rattanarat. He is super amazing! He took care of us and helped plan and book our sight seeing, book our massages, and activity tours. We call him Waldo because he pops up everywhere to make sure everyone is taken care of and everything is running smoothly. Ton ( make sure you find him too) took us on the tour of places of interest on the island. He is very kind, informative, patient and took good care of us. And then there is little Cleo who kept an eye on these two ‘ old people’.:) We love the Bandara Community!

We had a great stay here and will be leaving on November 2nd. We are going to miss you Bandara and Koh Samui! This is a great place to stay if you are traveling alone, as a couple or family with kids!

You don’t need all inclusive in Thailand bed and breakfast is enough.. there are too many wonderful places to eat and drink .. this isn’t a place where you stay in the hotel 24/7
