Do NOT recommend this hotel, or at least AVOID the suites. I am both a Hyatt globalist and a Marriott Platinum for a few years - rarely do I have to log into trip advisor to give negative comments. The suite was too far from most facilities (pool, breakfast, beach, spa etc). Buggie (golf car) service was required to go everywhere and it took VERY LONG ! Stayed four days, so unbearable we had to complain to the hotel on day 3. Real case for us: called buggie at 7.43am on Feb 28th and sat down at breakfast at 8.12am - almost half an hour ! The most ridiculous thing was both my friend and I got overheated 37-37.5C) while waiting for the buggie, two days in a row, and were rejected at the breakfast (covid concern - this I understood). We had to wait for a 5-10 min to cool ourselves down to get into restaurant - and that added up to the 29 min. You can imagine how hot / long it was to get to the beach or restaurant. You can also imagine how embarrassing it was to be pulled out from breakfast entry. The unpleasant experience did not end there. The resort manager proposed to meet personally upon check-out and we agreed on a time. And... she did not show up as her team did not inform her!(?) I was speechless. (Later, she did rush to the airport to apologise though) ———————————— To disclose fully, the hotel did upgrade us to the villa on the last day and, given it was so much more convenient, we took it. (but given the low occupancy during covid, that is what most Marriott, or Hyatt, will do for the platinum members - but upon check-ins not on the last day). The hotel also offered wine and in-room breakfast to us but we rejected these as I was very upset with the experience. …
Thank you to the Ritz Carlton team for such a great stay at the resort! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with the facilities and the best service ever. Special thanks to Mariia who received us warmly at check in and was such a great help throughout our stay. We will most definitely be back!
My husband and I came to Thailand this year for a less-than-happy reason: my mother’s funeral. For the end of the trip, we planned a little “getaway time” for us, to escape all the world’s turmoil and (hopefully) find a little slice of Peace on Earth before heading back to the chaotic U.S. of A. We decided to stay at the Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui, and we are very happy that we did. From the moment we arrived until the time when we checked out, our experience was far beyond what our imaginations had predicted. This place is hospitality at its best, and we would like to offer some personal thanks. Beginning each day was breakfast: well-prepared by a gracious kitchen staff and served by the amazing and friendly Sunny. Thank you, Sunny, for your genuine hospitality. We looked forward to chatting with you every morning. Your personality shines — and the mango & sticky rice that you and the rest of the in-room dining team gave us was a heart-warming surprise! Thank you. And, with him, was the amazing Ohm. Thank you, Ohm, for your sweetness and attention. We are glad to have met you and hope all your wishes will be granted. Next, to Amy and Aey in the Spa for your magic hands. Thank you thank you. Your massage was one of the best ever. And a big “thanks,” too, to you, Mint, for your smiles (under your mask), for the refreshing frozen margaritas by the pool, and for a chance to have some conversation together. And a big “thanks” to you, Mali, for your amazing attention to detail, especially remembering exactly what we wanted for drinks in the evening. Impressive! Right from the beginning — thank you, Fah, for all your assistance during our stay. Your recommendation to Khao Hom (an amazing southern-style restaurant) was more than on point. We loved our dinner there that evening — as well as the *mango and sticky rice* you, Aui, Mint, and Baiteoy brought to our room. Marvelous. Most of all, we would like to thank you, Maria (the resort manager) and, you, Preeya for your acts of kindness. After learning that we had arrived in Samui in part for me to cherish childhood memories of sharing time with my late mother here, you kindly (and to our great surprise) upgraded our stay. The villa was beyond amazing, and we appreciate your generosity more than we can say. We know that this is a difficult time for all hospitality workers right now. One day, when this world is back to where it should be, we will definitely return to this heaven-on-earth. Please know that we see you and appreciate what a talented group of professionals you are. You excel at what you’re doing, and are some pretty amazing human beings, as well. We sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Best of luck in 2021.…
We had only a short trip stay on the on Island. Of course, we finely selected "The Ritz Carlton" How Many ⭐ can add on to this Hotel ? -wonderful stay -great atmosphere -exceptionally clean and clear -coconut juice for welcome drinks -highly SOP to comply with local authorities with Covid Regulations Khun Fah was very pleasant and helpful showing us around and did the full-on in room orientation (I was mesmerized by the viewssssss) Turn down was on point and flawless. We were at the Main Pool for A drink or Two after long long drive, met with young lady - K.Mint who gave us so many tips what to do in Koh Samui and giving more tips how to enjoy The Ritz-Carlton Experiences. So we had to run to the lobby to experience the sunset of the Day. (THE View was Impressive) kudos to K.Mint We cannot believe that behind this professionalism to all staffs is a great Management Team looking into every detail...................................................... Keep it up & Congrats for the great work and big 😊 to Khun Mariia who makes things outstanding & with a great sense of customer service. Excellent Full Experience that would definitely come back 🔜 …
This was our first time going to Koh Samui and the team at Ritz Carlton took great care of us. Outstanding Service. This was the hallmark of our entire experience with Ritz Carlton Samui. Every single person we interacted with at the hotel, whether it was the hotel manager or room service / pool / restaurant / house-keeping staff – they all treated us like we were royalty. Everywhere, we were treated with smiles, a “can-do” attitude and a personal touch. And here the little things matter and go a long way – whether it’s the hand written personalized notes from the housekeeping ladies, handing out delicious coconut candy at check-in, moving us to the open tables at breakfast where my kids can eat and play around or remembering our seating / drink preferences at the pool. The “can-do” attitude was what got us here in the first place – when we met Mohannad Shaweesh at the Emquartier hotel event. We visited many hotel booths and most hotel reps said you’re a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 small kids) – sorry we cannot accommodate you in 1 room. Mohannad was different– He said no problem my friend! Let’s find a solution. And after a couple of meetings with him, we signed up for a 5 night stay. But the stand-out person for me is the hotel manager Mariia T – who leads the service philosophy by example. She was in constant touch with us before we got there to ensure everything was on track (sharing sizes of the beds so we can ensure the kids can fit, sending meal menus to accommodate for special requests, booking hotel transport etc). At the hotel, she was in constant touch – checking up on us during breakfast or at the pool. And not just with us, with all the other guests also. Mid-way during our stay, we wanted to check what the pool villas look like. She arranged it, drove us there, gave us a personal tour and then when we requested it, got us a paid upgrade to that room! There was no request from us that was too small to not attend to personally. She’s a great case of leadership by example! Outstanding Hotel The hotel is only 3 years old – so everything is still new. We were lucky to experience both the sea view Select suite as well the Ultimate pool villa in the same trip. Both were excellent in their own right. The suite is very spacious and has 4 distinct areas seperated by sliding doors (Bed area, bathroom, lounge and balcony). Our kids had enough personal space to hang out and play in the room. The villa is even bigger ofcourse, it has all this plus the pool (easily big enough for a family of 5), a huge balcony with 2 pool lounge chairs and an outdoor 4 seater table. And the break-taking views of the entire resort as well as the sea. The hotel is huge! (Almost 60 acres) – so you need golf buggies to move around from the room to the common areas like pool or restaurants. But there are plenty of them around and we didn’t have to wait long to get them. Outstanding Family Experience: While this hotel was probably built to target high-end couples, families can still have a great time here. We sure did! There is enough to do in the hotel that we didn’t need to go outside more than once in the entire week. Our kids loved their time in the pool. It is right on the beach and has a kiddy side to it also. There are various pool toys availabe to use for the kids. Fish feeding at the swim-reef was a fun and unique experience. The hotel provides snorkling equipment for you to go underwater and experience the fish feeding first hand. We got some great underwater videos of the fish in a feeding frenzy. There is a mini-golf area also which needs to be booked in advance. We had a great time competing there. Next to the breakfast restaurant “The Shook”, there are some table games – Pool, Foosball and Air hockey. All are free to use. Our kids played there everyday after breakfast. The food was a mixed-bag for me, and the one area that the hotel needs to look at. The breakfast spread was amazing! Many different choices and the food was great. We also ate at Sea Salt. The ice cream there is outstanding! Must try it – especially the coconut one! Room service food needs some improvement – The first night we ordered a lot of food. The airline chicken was dry, the wagyu burger was not cooked well. The food is fairly expensive – you expect that in a 5 star resort but the quality needs to match the pricing also especially in-room dining. All in all – we had an AMAZING time in Ritz Carlton Samui and would love to return soon! Thank you to the Ritz Carlton team for taking such amazing care of us! 😊…
