Overall the selection of La Corte was perfect for our family reunion; 16 family members including young children and infants. The cost was reasonable compared to other locations. The facility was perfect for our stay of one week. It provided adequate rooms, play areas, beautiful swimming pool, marvelous views of the rolling vineyard hills of Asti, meeting room for our...

The negative points: We booked a stay including a wine tasting. The wine tasting was more like an aperitive with some wines and snacks: no proper explanations and no way to get rid of the tasted wine. Fortunately, we did not have to drive, because it was at the hotel, not at the cave. The hotel accepts guest with very...

Very nice building (old winery) in a quiet environment.Very good starting point for day trips in Piemonte. The hotel offered a perfect breakfast and the restaurant had good food and wines. The pool was also good with a nice view over the hills. We had a nice and spacy suite with a big balcony but with a very small and...

The hotel is nicely laid out on a hill, containing of 2 separate buildings each on one side of the courtyard. It used to be a winery but (unfortunately) no longer is. We stayed in 2 double rooms that were okay for a 3 star hotel. Kind out out of fashion here and there, the bathroom especially. This had the...

Everything started already before reservation, I booked online a nice package and looked forward for a great weekend in Piemonte. Well, I got a phone call where I was accused to have booked a room while the hotel was full!!! Sorry to come to your place.Next time I will make sure not to disturb you. Anyway, this was a pre-paid...

This is our director's reply: Dear Guest, We cannot be absolutely sure of your identity by your nickname, but we had a single episode of overbooking on a web-portal of a big brand of pre-paid vacations, so we think that our replica can be referred with certainty to a particular stay experienced in November and not in October. We can...

Rooms OK, better than average breakfast, good help from receptionist, too many absurd rules and silly policies. $3 towel rental for pool, "it is forbidden" to hang laundry in the room, extra charge is you polish shoes or clean up baby with bath towel (who does that??!!), etc. Grouchy old owner wanders all over with scowl on his face to...

Management response:

Dear Sir, we are really sorry that you did not enjoy your stay here. Unfortunately we have to say that all what we write in the rooms is written because we had bad surprices in the past. Even for the towels, the sign at the reception, stating "Pool towel hire € 2,00 per person" was put for the same reason.

We (my wife, 2 kids and myself) travelled together with 2 other families in Italy, and we stayed for 4 nights in La Corte, on half board bases. I would describe La Corte as an honest hotel, and a good place to go out and discover the Alba & Asti region. We stayed in 3 suites, each with 1 bedroom,...

We found this place in an agriturismo web site and stayed recently (August 10, 2010) for a night. The treatment we received, from beginning to end, was as impersonal as in a bad, big hotel chain. The place is rather large for a typical B&B or agriturismo. The employee at the front desk was more interested in attending people who...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Relais "La Corte" is located in Calamandrana on the hills which are World Heritage Site since 2014 for the beauty of their vineyards and historic wineries. The hotel is located in a farmhouse built at the end of the eighteenth century, completely restored to reflect the style of the era, and has 22 rooms including double classic, superior and family suites. "La Corte" was born as a small holiday farm and in the years turned into a hotel with restaurant, offering all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay, whether for pleasure or business: a restaurant with a traditional menu enriched by vegetarian and gluten-free proposals, an outdoor pool, a large air-conditioned veranda overlooking the hills and two halls available for tastings of local products, courses and corporate events. Buffet breakfast is sweet and salty, with homemade cakes, local cheeses and salamis, jams, chocolate, eggs, croissants and freshly baked bread, biscuits, juices and hot drinks. Pets are welcome, even in common areas. ... more   less
