I had a wonderful stay at Casa Os Manos! It's near many hiking trails. While it is easier with a rental car, you don't necessarily need one. There is a bus stop (about 15 minutes walking from the Casa ) which will also take you to the airport for 2.60 Euros. Most importantly, Grace and her family are super nice and kind hosts. They gave me a ride on their way to Funchal and offered me all kinds of assistance without me even having to ask for it. You wouldn't hug the receptionist at a hotel goodbye, but at Casa Os Manos you'll be sad to part with your kind and attentive hosts!
All aspects of this place are great! I would recommend it strongly to anyone. I have to add some text to fill the 200 caracters rule but sum it pretty clearly... The owner the food the cleanliness everything was great.
a quiet simple accommodation for a moderate price included breakfast. When it is wet and cold the owner to light the fireplace, A really nice place infront of it. Room is not to big, bathroom with shower, it is desired to put the toillet paper in the basket not in the toillet, but dont Worry about it, you survive it.
My girlfriend Alice and me stayed at Os Manos for three days during our holiday this summer; this place is a good option for visiting the northen part of the island. We found the place well organized. Room was clean and furniture was new, although the bathroom was quite small everithing worked well. There is a very nice wooden shared kitchen where you can prepare meal and a fridge to store everything you need. Hosts are friendly and nice, speak good English and are happy to spend some time with you for a chat. Breakfast is simple but rich, perhaps a bit repetitive. Cherry on top is the wonderful garden with plenty of fruit and flowers. We truely recommed this place, you will enjoy it!
I have stayed in a number of hotels on the island of Madeira, but this one truly surpassed them all. It is located in the countryside away from most of the houses and it is peaceful and tranquil. I was awoken by the sounds of birds every morning. Even though it is a little isolated it was incredibly easy to get to. No incrediblelyrics steep road and driveway to negotiate. Even though you are based in the countryside you are only a 8 minute drive to Santana and the shops. It is also the perfect location to onew of the best Levada in Madeira Caldeirao Verde, which only took us us 15 minutes to get to. This is an absolute must do, the views are spectacular, and there were some light showers but because of this there were rainbows everywhere, it was like you were in a fairytale. The roomstaff were immaculatelyrics clean and modern, and I slept very well. There was WiFi and TV in our rooms which was excellent. There is a communal balcony which everyone shared where you could watch the sun set. The reception lady Grace was an absolute star, super friendly, nothing was to much, she went went above and beyond. She obviously takes alot of pride in watch she does, and is one of the reasons i rate this place so highly. Her English was fluent and her advice was invaluable. You will struggle to find better accommodation than this. If you are going to visit Santana and Do the Levadas this is where you need to come.…
