We have stayed here a few times & it really is a home away from home. We have annual passes for nearby Monkeyworld so pop here for a few days at a time and use it as a base as its only a few miles away from the zoo. The rooms are clean & a good size, the wifi in...

Arriving at the Inn at 8.30 after a 6 hour drive I asked if I could get some food. I was informed the kitchen was closed, yet a person who appeared to be a chef was in the bar playing pool. I was surprised as I've never experienced a kitchen close before 9.00 pm before. As I was an expected...

Food was awful had to send the fish dish back as it smelt and tasted off. Young staff spent a lot of time messing around and were not managed at all. Won't be going back. Service very poor. Table had initials etc carved into it and the bottled mineral water I ordered I don't believe was bottled.

I booked this for a birthday and was asked to pre-order the food. I was told we could change orders if people wanted the specials instead but was then told they couldn't. They didn't have enough of the food that we had pre-ordered, it took forever to come and the tables weren't set up for us when we got there....

Went for a meal with a large party. We arrived and they showed us to where we were sitting. They hadn't even arranged the tables. They were scattered all over the place and they told us to arrange them. They hadn't got enough food for the pre-orders we had placed prior to arrival, so some went without. The pasta was...

Having frequented this pub years ago we decided to meet some old friends here as a midway location. The pub was very different and surprisingly busy for an October evening. The food was pleasant but nothing exceptional, however the menu was marked with allergy information if a little confusing to start with. However when the desert menu came the only...

What a shame. This place is a missed opportunity, great location and facilities with poor menu choices, poor food and overpriced. My steak and ale pie was delicious, but served with instant mash, overcooked carrots and frozen peas. No seasonal vegetables, very disappointing indeed. Husbands fish and chips had soggy batter and the chips were overcooked. Service was inattentive and...

We met friends here last Monday evening for dinner. It is a large pub but was pretty empty, which may be a sign of something. Our food was very good; one of our friends had the mixed grill which was excellent. Service was slow & intermittent.

Firstly the food is ok- average pub grub. It was a fairly quiet afternoon when we visited. We walked into the bar area, no greeting, no hello, no nothing. There were 3 members of staff at the bar. One chewing her nails, the other busy on his phone, and the third casually leant on the bar. It just doesn't fill...

Location not great as need car to go anywhere, but pub is nice with very good food at reasonable prices. Rooms a bit small and WiFi works well in the bar but not so good elsewhere. Breakfast is fantastic..................
