I was there 20 years ago and loved it then. I still love it now. Even though a lot has changed in the surroundings the Villa Kapasa is still what it used to be: A home for travellers. Andreas and his wife are very nice and affectionnate hosts, sitting and talking with their guests in the evening. Dinner is offered...

This place is really the best ever. Owners are great people! The view is really beautiful, the service excellent. The cooking is perfect, we always have breakfast and evening dinner there, we can't miss the delicious food :)

What makes this place is the people who own and run it - Andreas, Argirou and their son Spiros. They rebuilt it, they have an interesting background, they engage with their guests and they do everything they can to encourage a convivial atmosphere (with a bit of edge!) We booked bed and breakfast only, not wanting to be trapped into...

Great view, good - not great - food, simple clean rooms. Villa Kapasa has a lot going for it. Our only complaint is the prices. 6 euros for half a liter of not-very-good homemade wine. 8 euros for a 5 euro breakfast. 17 euros/pp for unspectacular meal. We have a lot of experience with Crete and this was below average.

Staying with Andreas and his family at Villa Kapasa in Mathes is a genuinely authentic experience that not many people have been lucky enough to enjoy. Don't be put off by th efact that it is up in a hillside village away form the coast, this is Crete for real. The views from the rooms down to the coast are...

Wonderful stay! The owners were the best we have met in Crete, and in any other guest house outside Greece. The food eaten was delicious (amazing rabbit and lamb, home cooked). Tasty starters. If you stay for breakfast, definitely go for yoghurt with honey. Good location to also visit the south.

What a wonderful beginning and end to our Cretian experience. We found the place by accident and so returned on our way back to Heraklion for our flight home. Andreas and his wife are most hospitable, and have a beautifully located b&b with wonderful views. The home made meals both breakfast & dinner were amazingly delicious, using home grown produce...

We stayed for 5 days and I can honestly say in all my travels around the world never have I enjoyed a stay as much as this one. The Villa is family owned and operated, they are so courteous and friendly. By...

We really enjoy our stay in villa Kapasa. Nice family business, with products from the farm and food prepared in a traditional way by lovely Agyros. Very generous breakfast. Very quiet place, beautiful well kept garden, nice clean room with a great view on the Georgioupolis bay. I will recommend this place to who want to be away from the...
