Mario and Gemma are the most delightful hosts! There beautiful house is exquisite, homely and welcoming. The pool is the place to float in while gazing out at the mountain ranges sipping wine, with donkey's (cheeky ones!) braying gently in the paddock below. The rooms are divine with lovely attention to detail with own ensuites. Beautifully decorated. Meals are provided...

Fantastic place although up a winding, winding road! Wonderful couple Mario and Gemma. Very, very good food, both breakfast and dinner if wanted. They couldn't do enough for us. I did some washing and went out for the day. When we got back, Mario had bought it in and folded it ready. The swimming pool and area was spotless. Their...

A beautiful escape in the mountains of Tuscany. Mario and Gemma were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The house was beautifully renovated and the rooms were very comfortable. The pool overlooked the mountains and was very well kept. Even at relatively short notice we were able to order an evening meal and it was perfect home cooked...

Il Giardino di Rosmarino is a wonderfully peaceful, relaxed place to stay. In stunning surroundings, the house has been beautifully restored and furnished throughout. Evidence of Gemma's amazing sewing and artistic talents adorn all corners. Set in woodland, tracks and small roads take you on fabulous local hikes. There is a lovely pool to cool off in on the hotter...

Pontremoli itself is thankfully still charming, authentic and slightly off track in spite of its reputation for book lovers and an annual literary award. This agriturism is itself even more off the beaten track up a winding hillside road but worth finding and being welcomed on a misty, slightly chilly evening by the owners in a bright, comfortable house that...

This is the third time that I have stayed with Gemma & Mario, and each time it just gets better! My seven students and I were able to practice yoga in the beautiful garden & by the outdoor swimming pool. To be able to practice yoga and be surrounded by mountains and forests is an absolute joy. The only sound...

This was our second stay at Il giardino di Rosmarino. In the peace and tranquility of this beautiful house and garden, we were able to practice yoga and meditation. Gemma and Mario are wonderful hosts, and catered for our every needs. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The quality of the freshly prepared food and wine is outstanding.

No amount of words would ever be enough to describe the sheer beauty of this restored farmhouse and its wonderful Italian owners, Mario and Gemma. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Just a few kilometers from the historic center of Pontremoli, with its intact medieval mark, there is a particularly congenial place to hear the pulsating soul of these places, a house to meditate before and after the "wanderings" that we want to take off and within us. It's called "The Garden of Rosemary", an old farmhouse, renovated with materials typical of the Lunigiana. All rooms (with bathroom, and finely furnished), provide maximum privacy in a context where, in the type of stay, also generous opportunity to enjoy the large common areas (TV room, dining room and a large garden with swimming pool).A charming place where you'll be greeted with kindness by the owners of the house, with whom you can talk nicely and that will provide a quality facility. The return from a day trip will'' come home'', and in the morning to wait for the awakening of the guests, there will be a hearty breakfast with local produce sweet and savory (from jams, to the fresh rolls, croissants and biscuits freshly baked). And yet you can taste the pecorino cheese and other local products. The B & B'''' Rosemary's Garden is happy, then, to accommodate all travelers'' for'' a holiday that combines a visit to Pontremoli, Lerici (40 Km) in Sarzana (38 km) Marina di Carrara (47 km) Cinque Terre (60 km) all reachable in half an hour), using the same time the possibility of enjoying the immeasurable beauty of unspoiled nature and discovering aspects of daily life in the territory.'Rosemary's Garden "is also the'' ideal'' way station to take daily excursions to Pisa (90 Km) Florence (140 Km), Volterra (150 km) Genoa (110 km), Lucca (80Km.) Viareggio (78Km.) to name just some of the most popular tourist destinations), a distance of a few tens to a little over a hundred miles at most. ... more   less
