This unmanned Chateau(the only staff you see are at check-in and breakfast)is set within a working vineyard. The bedrooms are spacious, ours was on the ground floor and it had a lovely large bathroom, and it had a bath! There is no air conditioning and it did become rather warm in the night,we would have liked to have kept the windows...

Stayed in this peaceful location for a week. Stylish accommodation and a wonderful welcome from each very friendly and smiling member of staff . Fabulous breakfasts ,very clean and fresh rooms ,interesting architectural features abounding. Relaxing walks amidst extensive vineyards in the evenings ,to rejoice in the quiet ,rural atmosphere. A tonic for anyone wanting to 'get away from it...

Stayed here while visiting Libourne and the Chateau has very spacious rooms well furnished , bathroom also very stylish. Fronsac is really very quite with not even a coffee house so there is nowhere to even have a coffee in village. Breakfast is quite good with nice selection. We opted for evening meal at 25 euro to a chef who...

Great location, wonderful staff who made our stay so memorable, the breakfast was excellent and the Chateau wine was superb. We really should of stayed longer to explore Fronsac and the region. ...............................................

Lovely people, very quiet spot, we stayed just two days. Local restaurants OK. This is an ideal rural stay for those looking around St Emilion region. Do hope the harvest went well! We hope to return one day. Delicious wine.

We had high hopes for the pretty Chateau Richelieu property and received an initial friendly welcome after rushing to arrive by a strict 5:30pm check in time, but were then very disappointed by our stay there due to many factors: 1. It is not locally owned therefore it lacks intimacy, passion and a true 'vineyard experience'. 2. Sadly, you are...

We stayed one night here with friends after arriving in Bordeaux. It's a beautiful chateau, quite small but perfectly formed. Lovely hosts, lovely pool (we didn't use it but it was clean). Only downside is that it was too far to walk to any restaurants, but we drove to la Ginguette and it was worth the short drive. We had...

I would give this place 3.5 stars. It has a lot of potential, but there are a few things that make it a not quite. The good: Amazing building, rooms with fantastic old-world charm but also spotlessly clean. Our room was huge, with a wonderful bathroom and fantastic shower. The common spaces are impressive when the sunshine is streaming through...

Having read a TripAdvisor review of Château Richelieu we took steps not to arrive early and in the end accidentally arrived late! No problem whatsoever! Sylvie Perez, the charming woman who co-manages the Château rang us, left instructions for finding the keys and said she's see us in the morning after breakfast. Now I accept that some people may find...

We stayed 3 nights in chateau richelieu. The rooms are big, comfortable and charmingly furnished. When we arrived on a saturday afternoon a lady shouted at us from an upstairs window. She was cleaning the rooms and the only person present. Apparently we had arrived too early. When we explained to her in our best french that we didn't know...

“The best room is the first floor called "Athos". It's one of the biggest and the only room with windows on both sides allowing a draft through on hot summer evenings. There is one other room on the first floor, the others are either on the ground floor (and therefore could lack a bit of privacy) or the second floor, i.e. in the roof (and therefore could be hot in the summer). That said, I'd be surprised if you didn't like any of the rooms.”
