I was looking for something to do 1st w/e after Christmas, and as I was travelling from UK by motorcycle, I couldn't book anything til the last minute until I had a reasonable idea of the weather. Avril was able to accomodate me at short notice and warned I would be the only guest. I was a lone traveller in...

The service and welcome were first-class, Avril looked after me with amazing kindness, and the other guests were very friendly. Avril's knowledge of the area and its WWI history was a big help to me. My room was a darling attic room, with wedge-shaped ceiling and exposed beams - and a very comfortable bed. The location is convenient for visiting...

I needed a reasonably priced, unpretentious B and B / Guest House on the Somme for a small group of my students. I knew about "Ocean Villas" and hoped that Avril and her family wouldn't mind us descending on her establishment! We arrived later than expected, but received a warm welcome - and Avril rearranged our planned accommodation to better...

We never stayed anywhere like here. Loved every moment of it. Great hospitality from Avril and Mark. Great fun bringing Rose to the ram and having a chat with the cows next dooe. We had a most relaxing and enjoyable evening with new friends from UK and Canada. We will be back! Thanks Avril.

Comfortable B&B Avril and her family were so accommodating. Collection from Albert. Breakfast was hearty and evening meals although optional we're good home cooked meals eaten with other guests which was great for my parents and I . Regular guests took us under their wing and gave a full day visit to the battlefields and thiepval which was the reason...

The setting is rural (including free-roaming farmyard stock), tranquil and ideally placed to visit all the nooks and crannies of the Somme Battlefield. However, if you're in search of a 5* experience, haute cuisine and all the associated frills go elsewhere. Notwithstanding, the accommodation is clean, the food good and plentiful and the proprietors welcoming, homely, attentive and knowledgeable. Over...

We stopped by for lunch and look in the museum. The museum was closed, which was a shame as there were plenty of people eating in thr restaurant. If you dont like cats or chickens eat inside as they will come and join you for lunch which i guess isnt the most hygienic. Didnt bother us too much. Food was...

A comfortable but basic B&B. Avril and family were nice and welcoming. It's really a place for WW1 enthusiasts and there are books aplenty in the lounge area. Breakfast was fine. My room although smallish was comfortable enough and I wasn't looking for 5* accommodation. Breakfast was good enough and although evening meals are taken together it's not compulsory. I...

If you're looking for some peace and quiet after the busyness of cities this place is it. I loved the chickens wandering around, sheep grazing. Avril is a friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable hostess. A very relaxing experience. If you are looking for something upmarket this is not the place for you.
