Great place in every regard except for the coffee and perhaps the length of the journey to Lech. Center of most historic ski area. Modern hotel built on top of traditional building. Internet good(not amazing) . Wonderfull " tea" in traditional room greet skiers returning( sausages and fresh horseradish, hearty breads, cakes; tea and local beer...) . Hotel was full,...

My very first time to Austria & first hotel experience here. The Mondschein could not be more charming, authentic & romantic. Top notch service, gorgeous food and truly memorable experience. Owner Markus is a gem & do take the time to meet him! Afternoon Apres treats should be a priority too. Well needed after a big day on the slopes....

Staying in quality Austrian Hotels with 4* awards is always a pleasure as the bedrooms and bedding can always be relied upon to ensure a really good night’s sleep, and this is certainly the case at the Hotel Mondschein. This is a small cosy family run hotel with great history and traditions. The cuisine is superb and the hotel offers...

Not easy to find, but located in the basement of the hotel Mondschein. Probably the best bar in Stuben, the excellent barkeeper Sandro mixes perfect drinks and takes care of you. He has also good advices and is a good host. If you come to Stuben, it is worth to visit that bar. Thank you!

Just returned from a 4 nights stay at hotel Mondschein which would rank as one of the more disappointing and bizarre hotel experiences we ever had. When arriving to the hotel we were requested to hand over our car key to the reception as the car park was apparently very tight and the hotel management required that guest cars will...

I've been staying at the Mondschein for over twenty years, so I guess I really like it! Over that time, the staff has continued to reinvest in improvements to the property. Hats off to Markus! I note that some reviewers complain about the room size, but one has to remember that the hotel was established in 1739 and the foundations...

Consistently excellent 5 course dinners served during the week . Nicely furnished rooms which were clean and quiet. Lovely selection of breakfast foods- excellent quality, personable staff. Ski boots had a heated room for storing after a day's skiing. Hotel sommelier presented interesting discussion on food - wine pairing technique followed by tour of the hotel's wine cellar. We bought...

rooms are very small, location is ok and 200 meters from lift. Dinner was not high quality, service is quite slow. Charging around 4 Euro to a bottle of tap water is of course completely unacceptable. Breakfast is ok. We can't enter the bar because they can still smoke. I'll never consider to go to Hotel mondschein again.

After reading all the good reviews we arrived to hotel Mondshein with really high hopes but we were disappointed. The rooms were too small, there was no real wardrobe, some wardrobe like thing in the corner with a curtain, it was hard to find a place for our luggages. The food; nothing amazing, creamy soups, canned vegetables, choice between pork...

We found this by far the best place to eat in Stuben. The service is much better than at the large Hotel Zur Post nearby. Walk uphill past Hotel Zur Post and you'll see it on your right. (It is signposted as sun terrace). The hotel looks like it has genuine atmosphere (although we didn't stay there). The sunny outdoor...
