Visited February 2017 and stayed in the annexe. Positives: very good food and wine; delightful staff - many of them family members (although the rather sepulchral character on the front desk could use a few days at charm school). Bedrooms are large. Access to the pistes and ski ships could not be better. Decor in the main building is great...

Fantastic team who look after your every need and make everyone feel so welcome. Wonderful food complemented by a well stocked bar. Location is unbeatable next to the ski lift and slopes. I would be back in a heartbeat.

This is a great ski hotel - comfortable, good food, pleasant helpful staff. I was worried that we had not told them that we were vegetarians - they were not disturbed at all and produced delicious veggie alternatives to the main menu. The spa area is lovely and clean and a great way to relax after a hard days skiing....

Great ski hotel on adjacent to the St Christoph lift in St Anton. It's location is perfect for families as there is both the ski lift as well as the ski school located there. The hotel itself, is a traditional Austrian design, offering a very comfortable stay for all guests. The staff are very friendly and are very accommodating to...

Lovely hotel, great location, clean, and we ate here after a glowing reference..... That's the positives out of the way. Dreadful menu, with a choice of pizza, sausage, and a few local dishes. No starters to speak of. After being presented with a pizza that Lidl would be proud of, I changed it for a local grostol, and a pan...

Each year I return to the Hotel Maiensee and I see the same familiar faces among both the other guests and the hotel staff. The fact that I and so many others return year after year is a reflection of the value for money offered. It also speaks a great deal for the Traxl family who somehow manage to combine...

The Maiensee offers a perfect location for fabulous skiing, with great food and unbeatable family focussed hospitality. Situated just next to the St Cristoph chairlift, the Traxl family make you feel at home from the minute you arrive, with a welcoming glass of bubbly. The food is excellent and the staff are both friendly and efficient, making you feel at...

There is very little negative I can say about Hotel Maiensee. From the moment we arrived we were treated with welcoming Austrian hospitality and a glass of fizz which is always good after a long journey! The hotel is a mixture of traditional Austrian charm and new contemporary look which is being seen more in new modern hotels. I was...

This hotel has a lot of potential. Its location is extremely good, the decor in the public areas is good and the service in the bar and restaurant is good. Unfortunately this potential is wasted due to some things being so, so wrong. The service at the front desk is simply awful. Requests before arrival to book ski instructor or...

This jewel in Europe for winter sports is still a well kept secret. It's regular guest list don't advertise their "find" but return every season - some several times. Super rooms, delicious food & a wine list that will amaze you. The spa has world class therapists. Location is ski in & out with chairlift 2 minutes from front door....

“Make sure to get a room with working window blinds as the curtains are very thin. Also the back -facing rooms are probably quieter - but there were huge (a bit unseasonal for April!) dumps of snow so the piste machines and road clearers were working overtime!”
