We had the pleasure of staying in Karamea over Waitangi weekend. We had coffee each morning at the Last Resort. The cofffee was delicious and we also enjoyed vegetarian frittata and custard squares. We spent time enjoying our coffee on the deck with a gentle breeze moving through the Nikau palms. Ed came and said hi and we caught up...

Great spot to relax in Karamea at a reasonable cost. Rooms big and well appointed. Plenty of food options available and the meals excellent at again very reasonable cost. The staff and hosts are very accomodating and nothing is a problem. Fully recommend staying here as a gateway to stunning Karamea and/or a relaxing do nothing break.

Ideal spot for visiting all the places of interest around Karamea. The various walks and places of interest make Karamea well worth a visit. The walks around Oparara are tough but well worth the effort. Chasm Creek, Charming Creek, the Mokihinui river and of course the limestone arches (Maria and Oparara) are all worth seeing. All very tranquil and unspoiled.

Stayed in a three-bedroom cottage,so we had privacy and loads of space. It was very clean and had been recently renovated. It conveniently has a restaurant on site which serves meals all day. Close to the end/beginning of the Heaphy Track.

stopped off at 11.30 and waitress allowed us to order lunch even though we were supposed to wait until 12. Even gave us free WIFI access. Spent an hour there, really just escaping from the rain, but didn't feel rushed at all. Comfortable surroundings, good fish n chips and excellent Whitebait

We stayed 2 days at the Last Resort in Karamea as part of a bike tour. The hotel itself is fine, the restaurant is average. Our room was spacious enough. For dinner, we ordered chicken satay, which ended being fried cutlets with a peanut gravy. Our other entree was a vegetarian dish that was overcooked. For breakfast, we could tell...

We stayed 3 nights at the Last Resort, Karamea, in a studio ensuite rooms. There is a variety of accommodation options in this business. The studio ensuite rooms are basic wallpaper, and fittings (nothing fancy), it had all we wanted. The rooms were very large. When I had teething problems with the common washing machine, the host was very helpful...
