Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The room was comfy and clean. The only fault we could find was the pillows. Way too hard. Other then that I would recommend this place. If you are used to complete silence you may have trouble sleeping but if you like hearing the crashing of waves you will love this place. You wont need an alarm clock as you will hear the car go past on the main road right out the front of your hotel room.

Booked one of the budget rooms which provided us a magnificent view of Casey’s Beach from our balcony. Was fantastic to sit out there and soak in the sun and the sounds of the beach. Room itself was spacious and provided everything we needed. It is a bit old but we were told about that when we booked so no surprises there and again for the price, location and views we loved it. Room was tidy and clean with a comfortable bed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Didn’t use the pool or bbq facilities but they seemed nice. Would recommend to others and would stay there again.

We took some Canadian friends to the area. The room was very clean and the grounds were very well kept. The owners are very friendly and only too happy to help. The hotel is located opposite Caseys Beach, just across the road and is within easy driving distance to shops and attractions. There is lots of attractions and beaches in the area. They have a solar heated swimming pool which is kept very clean and an electric barbeque area with utensils supplied. There is also a coin operated laundry. The cost of the room includes bed linen, towels etc and has a well equipped kitchen with utensils and cooking equipment.

My family and i stayed overnight in Edgewater Gardens. I paid $150 for a beachfront apartment but ended up with a nightmare. There is a queen sized bed located in the living room, and two single beds in another room. There is only one bathroom attached to the living room right next to the queen bed. So every time for those who are staying in another room have too come out to use the bathrrom and toilet. It was very inconvenient. The apartment is old, small, and right next to the highway. At night, it was really noisy and we couldn't get into sleep. We paid extra money to enjoy the beachfront apartment but ended up with paid extra to suffer from the traffic noise!

Belligerent father and daughter hosts. Used my card details to withdraw double the quoted tariff, plus a further $40 for disputed late checkout fee. Resentfully refunded overcharge only after several requests. Anecdotal evidence of regular abusive behaviour. An elderly couple from Yass told me of being charged double last summer.

I stayed at the Edgewater Gardens for one night in a two bedroom property during Australia Day long weekend. We had two cars but only got one car space, other car parked on busy Beach Road overnight. The manager had an argument with my friend regarding the parking, they left early the next day, I was at the room with my wife. The manager's husband knocked at my door and angrily asked me to leave in 5 minutes thinking I was the one who had the argument with his wife. I was insulted in front of my newly married wife. I am never gonna go there again, the service sucks, linen was dirty, no fan in the bedrooms!

It was my worst ever holiday experience!!!! I will never go to this hotel again!!!!!!

Dear Murad....it is unfortunate that it has taken over 1 month to conjure up this series of untruths to discredit our property. This is the 2nd time that you stayed with us, and actually moved from your first hotel on the Australia Day weekend to our property as you had stayed with us previously and loved our property. As this was the Australia Day weekend, all the extra car spaces we have, had all been allocated, if you had advised us earlier. You were quite aware that we only have one car spot per unit from your previous stay and whilst I didn’t argue with your friend, I had to ask him to move his car 3 times as he was blocking access for all the other guests staying in the property. We are not on a busy road and he made the decision as to where to park his car, if you had advised on booking the previous day we may have been able to accommodate you, as you had requested a earlier check-in which we accommodated moving from one property to the next and then didn’t arrive until after the office had closed. You were rude to me on arrival and on several occasions whilst I was speaking with other guests. My husband knocked on your door after 11.30am to ask when you were leaving as checkout is 10am, and the unit needed to be cleaned for the next arrival. The pedestal fan we acquired for you at 10pm at night added to the ceiling fan and airconditioning in the main lounge/dining area and small portable fans in each bedroom, not to mention the lovely sea breeze outside. The linen is changed after each and every departure.

Myself and various relatives have stayed here a few times over the past decade and I am very happy with the new, current owners, they couldn't do enough for you, they were warm and professional and gave that extra added value. The whole place has improved since they've taken over.

My husband and I stayed at Edgewater Gardens for the weekend in a top floor studio apartment. The new owners were great - friendly & helpful. The unit was clean and tidy. The views were fantastic of Caseys beach across the road and the islands in front. Very relaxing, close to amenities, good parking, away from crowds yet only 5 mins to Batemans bay. Owners dealt swiftly and politely with a group of 20somethings playing cricket out front for their safety as much as the peace of the other guests. Would highly recommend Edgewater to anyone wanting a great getaway at a reasonable price. Am definitely looking forward to staying there again. Kind Regards - Virginia & Nick

This is a terrific little apartment complex in Batehaven, directly facing Casey’s beach and the bay . It is modestly priced, brilliant location, staff are helpful and friendly . Some of these apartments have been recently refurbished . It is close to all facilities, restaurants, fish and chip shop, IGA grocery just down road, and about a 7-8 minute drive to Bateman’s Bay , where there are shopping malls, shops, restaurants, everything you could possibly need .

Although it’s been renovated , there are a couple of tiny things that could be improved. A new soap dish in the shower would be good, the present one is a bit rusty . A receptacle for tooth brushes would be good (couple of plain tumblers would be adequate) . Bedside tables at BOTH sides of the bed would be helpful . A major improvement would be a more comfortable lounge , the present one is very uncomfortable, probably past the use-by date . Some crockery was a bit chipped , and some crockery in the cupboard hadn’t been washed properly. These are all very minor things, and would cost very little to fix, making a very good apartment even better . Thanks !

We absolutely loved staying here, the staff are so wonderful and kind and are always willing to assist us and point out new things to do in the area, location is amazing - right across the road from the beach and it is also so close to the shops & the cinema. We will be back for sure :)
