The Sol Sun Beach Apartments by Melia receive commendations for their spotless rooms and prime location near beaches and attractions, which guests find ideal for relaxation. Staff at the hotel is often lauded for their friendliness, but there are occasional mentions of slow service, particularly at the pool bar.
While the rooms are spacious and cleanliness is consistently praised, some travelers point out that noise can be an issue and the decor is a mix of modern and dated. The amenities satisfy most guests, although opinions on value are mixed, citing additional charges and room quality as concerns.

We had booked a studio room for 3 adults with Jet2, on booking I requested a higher floor but unfortunately didn't get it.
Check in was quick and the staff member was friendly. He gave us a sheet with hotel information on it, including the WIFI password then directed us to our room. The reception area was extremely clean.
The hotel is like a maze with corridors and stairs everywhere, not great for people with walking problems.
Our room was on the ground floor with a balcony overlooking a footpath but we could see the sea if we stood on tiptoes. It seemed quite a dark room but we were only there for a week so wasn't worth making a fuss. The room seemed very clean with twin beds and then a sofa bed made up in the lounge/kitchen area. There was an oven, fridge, kettle and toaster. Unfortunately the cupboards were so high that I wasn't able to reach many items including plates and cups and the cutlery draw was just a case of stick your hand in and see what you get. There were 4 small glasses but no wine glasses, perhaps a couple of these would have been nice for the adults. There was also a small pack by the sink with washing up liquid, a sponge and tea-towel which was a nice touch. There were English TV channels avaiable.
Unfortunately our towels weren't changed regularly - Reception had made a point of saying they didn't change towels on Wednesdays or Sundays but it appeared to be Thursday, Fridays and Mondays as well. I ended up leaving the towels on the floor so they had to change them. The maid was also very eager wanting to come in at 9am, we are on holiday and don't want to get up early!
The pool area was great with plenty of sunbeds available at any time throughout the day. Unlike other hotels nearby, they were spaced out so you weren't all squashed together. There is a lifeguard on duty every day and yes, he does take his job seriously and doesn't allow inflatables or food/drink in the pool but he is very friendly and does an excellent job. He even walks around the terrace collecting empty glasses.
The pool bar was a let down at the beginning of our week. The girl running it didn't know what she was doing leading to long queues. However this was rectified and more experienced staff were put in her place which was great.
We were on B&B and on our first morning went down about 9.30 and it was chaos, the room isn't big enough for the hotel and we had to wait for tables to become available. After this we went at 10 and were able to get a table straight away. The selection is the normal ie sausage, streaky bacon, 3 different eggs etc along with fruits, yoghurts, small cakes and a variety of bread. We were certainly happy with the choice.
Would I return to this hotel? The staff at this hotel are all friendly and work extremely hard, the sunbeds available is a big plus and the location by the beach with bars and restaurants nearby is great, however wasn't a fan of the area its quite spread out and the amount of cockroaches we saw has put me off, both in our room and out and about so possibly not but would recommend it to others if they don't mind the bugs!

My husband and I stayed here for 10 nights B&B with our 5 year old in a two bedroom apartment.
The 2 bedroom apartment was massive! There were two bathrooms plus two full height wardrobes in both bedrooms and a good size balcony. We were a couple of floors up and had a street/side view of the sea.
The breakfast was great - they did something for everyone. Not even a picky eater could complain.
The pool area was nice and there were tones of sunbeds!! The whole top floor of the hotel is full of sunbeds. You can watch the sunset from there too.
The location of this hotel is brilliant. There are some fantastic restaurants nearby selling good spanish tapas and paella.
You can walk to Plaza Del Duque from the hotel plus Fanabe Plaza where all the main buses go from, including the Siam Mall bus and Siam Park bus (which are both free).
Our only suggestion to the hotel management is that it would have nice to have wine glasses in the apartment and would have been good if the pool bar sold iced coffee.
We wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel and we'd highly recommend staying in Costa Adeje. It has a really good vibe, brilliant restaurants and the beaches are lovely. We went on a boat trip from the harbour, called the Diamant, which was brilliant. During our stay we chose to visit both Los Christianos and Playa de las Américas both of which we felt were very old fashioned and tacky. So if you're struggling to pick a resort I'd say Costa Adeje is by far the best.

I was a little worried about these apartments as some reviews mention cockroaches, dated rooms and noise but we were pleasantly surprised. We stayed in a studio, A1-15, I think it’s luck of the draw where you are located, it’s a big place, our terrace faced the beach side and was busy outside during the day but no problem at night with noise. Breakfast was really nice, I ate toast, fruit and yogurt everyday, there’s a good variety of food and drinks that are replenished quickly, it’s served from 8-10:30. Sun beds are available at any time during the day and the roof terrace has amazing sea views. Beach towels are available to hire €10 and €1 to change them. Hotel was spotless and reception smelt amazing, rooms were cleaned daily (kitchen area isn’t cleaned but that wasn’t a problem for us) I never really stay at the same hotel twice but would definitely go back. Nice little touches like water in the room upon arrival, washing up liquid, cloth and tea towel supplied. Shampoo, shower gel and hand wash in the bathroom. Pool bar is very cheap and the toasties were delicious. This location is the best I have stayed in Tenerife. Only one negative; pool is missing a fair few tiles.

Had a great time at the Sol Sun Beach in Tenerife, the drop off was a bit confusing as the bus couldn’t get near hotel and the bus driver just dropped us off waved a hand to the right and then left us, it was late at night so we couldn’t see the signage so that could have been better especially when you have children with you. on finding the hotel it was very clean and modern and reception was friendly, we stayed in a two bedroom family room which was huge with a massive wrap around terrace with sun beds and table and chairs, the room was dated but included everything you would need, the bathroom was modern and well equipped one of the best we have had as we usually go the Greece, the beds were very comfortable and we had a sea view from our bedroom, the terrace had a sea view also and a view of the restaurants, there was a great sports bar under the hotel which had the cheapest beer, cocktails and smoothies we found €1.50 for a pint cocktails €5 and smoothies €4.50 had a great atmosphere with pool tables, and gaming tables and arcade games do great for kids and adults, the breakfast was really nice everything you could want all self service great time to go was between 8.30 to 9 as otherwise it got busy if you were a family, only a few seats outside so get there early if you want those, the pool was great a lovely size and there was always plenty of sun beds around the hotel so no need to rush out to put your towels down early. There was work going on around the hotel and sometimes I was quiet noisy around the pool area, we had the room next to us under renovation but luckily they were at the finishing stage would not have wanted it to be at the knocking off tiles stage or digging up floors as this was causing problems for a few guests that had to change rooms because of the noise, the internet was very slow and patchy around the hotel, the pool bar only accepted cards no cash so we didn’t use it as we tend to boycott no cash places, overall would definitely recommend staying here we had a great time and would definitely return.

On arrival the taxi dropped us at the top of a tiled hill. We (2 x 72YO's and a 10YO grandson) had to make our way down the hill with our luggage and then up a slight incline to the main entrance. Felt like 100 yards.
The friendly and attentive reception staff placed us in a 1 bed apartment overlooking the pool. To get to it we had to exit the main entrance walk down the slight incline, up another ramp then up a flight of steps; with all our luggage! Fortunately for us a holiday-making stranger saw our difficulty and came to our assistance. The reception team were able to change our room to a more easily accessible room after 3 nights.
The 1 bed apartments were more than adequate if less than luxurious. kitchen with necessary equipment and fridge. TV with no working English channels ( the majority of residents were English) and no HDMI ports for a fire stick. Comfortable beds and good bathroom and shower. Ceiling fans in all rooms and great air conditioning in lounge room.
Wifi was provided free but we used our mobile phones 5G.
We were half board. The food was such that the picky would complain but we found it typical of 3 star Spanish hotels. My only grumble was it was a bit short on vegetables.
We were there in low season but the fun for all activities and entertainment for all ages that their website implied and that we have experienced at other Sol hotels did not exist. Our 10 YO grandson spent a lot of time on his tablet connected via our 5G.
In general the apartments are in a great location close to the beach and "strip" and would be an excellent base for most guests. Not for 70 YO's though; IMO.

We stayed in room 4-16 … The good news is … The pool area was very spacious and clean .. with lovely views of the sea . The bathroom in our studio apartment was new and spotless , shampoo, shower gel and hand wash was provided and the towels looked brand new … the bedroom area has a ceiling fan ( it really could have done with a wipe down ) but it worked … bed side lights and plug sockets at both sides of bed. The bedside cabinet was small ( short of space ) with only one very small drawer . The kitchen area had an oven ( spotless ) … hob , sink , kettle and toaster .. the fridge didn’t have a freezer box so ice was out of the question and the door was rusty at the bottom . That needed replacing … the unit in the living room was an eye sore , marked and scruffy looking … so was the sofa bed … the flooring looked old and again the ceiling fan in the living room was dirty … the curtains needed a wash and curtain pole was thick in dust … the aircon unit cooled the whole area of the apartment , and as per it knocked off when patio doors to balcony was opened … however … if we closed the door when on the balcony there was no door handle outside so it was difficult to reopen the door …. There was a clothes dryer hanging on wall but when it was pulled out it was over the Aircon unit … so couldn’t hang beach towel on there .. the balcony wasn’t swept or mopped the whole time we were there … so I borrowed the cleaners brush and did it myself , long human hairs on the floor .. eeek! but the outside furniture was clean and pretty new … a small renovation would have this place a number one accommodation… as it’s in a perfect area …. Breakfast was included but having tried it once we didn’t bother again we had breakfast across the street at Lily’s … I don’t think I would stay there again and regret not asking to see the one bedroom apartments in the hope they be more comfortable .

Firstly this hotel is in an amazing location and we had a great holiday. However, there are some important things to note before booking. The pool is a fun-free zone. No balls; no floats; no jumping in etc etc. This was very disappointing for a family hotel, my children are 7 and 2 and there’s only so long they can swim laps in the pool. I spoke to the general manager regarding this and he claimed it is a rule in Tenerife regarding no lilos in pools. This is categorically untrue. Also please be aware that on check out day, if it is not possible to keep you room on ( as I have young children I would’ve thought this could be possible) the staff did offer access to a “shower room”. This is literally a shower in a public restroom with no access to hairdryer or anything else. You would think a family hotel would appreciate the need to have one room available to shower for those on night flights etc. The general manager was rather rude and patronising, talking over me to the point he was nearly shouting. We stayed bed and breakfast which was very good with a good range of options.

Dear RubyR86, Thank you for choosing SOL Sun Beach for your holiday at Tenerife and for writing a review about your stay with us. We regret if your stay at our resort did not meet your expectations. We always do our best to provide our guests with unique experiences and we are sorry that in your case we did not succeed in this proposal. Regarding to your comments about the pool's rules. Even though they were not good for you, the security, the wellbeing and the good coexistence of our guests and staff is our top priority. We regret any misunderstanding or inconvenience for this. The late check out is always subject to availability, during this season the occupancy is very high and it does not allow to offer this extra service to our guests. With the aim to help our guest to stay enjoying the hotel's facilities until later, we offer the shower cabin as courtesy. It must be reserved during the morning at the reception and with a maximum time of 30 minutes of use per room. Following this procedure, all the guest can enjoy this service. We regret any inconvenience due to this. I regret not agreeing with your words about my assistance, because they don’t correspond to my standards when it comes to serving the customer. In fact, I had to intervene due to the way you were talking to the receptionist. I always try to provide solutions and the best service to all my lovely customers. I am truly sorry for your perception but you can rest sure that it was never my intention to bother you. Beside this, we are glad to read that you have enjoyed our location and our breakfast. Kind regards, Yeray Díaz Guest Experience Manager.

5 stars based on a 3 star hotel, we felt it was better...... Just returned from a week here. Wanted a 2-bedroom apartment and although this fitted the needs we usually wouldn’t book less than 4 star but the reviews seemed good and other choices were limited so took a chance and so very glad we did. Arriving at the property is not the most impressive but once we did the facilities beyond were good and covered everything we needed. The staff throughout the hotel were brilliant from pre-arrival email enquiries to checking out and i can’t thank them enough. The sunbed areas are vast and always some available in good spots which seemed to prevent any towel hoggers. The pool was nice and all areas generally clean and tidy. We were half board, breakfast was good and evening meal generally okay but very limited options for vegetarians (not adding chicken meat to the main dishes (noodles, paella etc would have at least offered more choice for Pescatarians).. Meat eaters fine, limited choice as not a huge hotel but was varied and food quality was good, we did eat out a few times to take in the local atmosphere which we do prefer. Ants in the room were a bit of a nuisance and came from nowhere if you left anything out but not a major problem to overcome and just need to be tidier. (could do with a dust pan and brush in the rooms). We’ve stayed in the area a few times now and love it, usually 4 stars but I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again in the future as there is not much between this and those we have stayed previously, except perhaps a more dramatic entrance and a few more modern fixtures…. Well done the staff at Melia Sol Sun and thanks again.

What a difference the renovated apartments make ….( we’ve stayed here before and said we wouldn’t come back , despite the location &friendly staff) we are staying in newly renovated pool view 1 bed apartment and I can hardly fault it …. Sun on terrace all day … bathroom very clean with a powerful shower, handwash, shower gel and shampoo in full size bottles , a large flat screen tv that supports our fire stick , the beds are comfy, plenty of hanging and drawer space , two mirrors … with a ceiling fan that is ever so quiet and cools the room down, aircon is in the living room. The small kitchenette if you want to cook … two electric rings , microwave …. I personally would have installed a microwave with a grill and oven … there’s a full size fridge , again I would have preferred a freezer box inside the fridge for making ice … breakfast is breakfast in Tenerife …There are plenty of sunbeds scattered over large areas and pool towels can be hired from reception . There is a laundry room with large washing machines 5 € and a large dryer 4€……

I want to say that for me it is the first time I came, but my relatives were repeaters. For me cleanliness is super important and here it is conspicuous by its absence, the apartment full of dust (lint) I took a cloth that they give you for the kitchen and I cleaned the headboard, the pictures, the bedside table and the lamps, which even had a spider web. And in the kitchen, bread from other clients. The next day they only changed towels, made beds and mopped the floor. The bathroom didn't even notice it. they cleaned. Here to consume at the pool bar you have several ways to pay, we opened an account, we are going to consume the next day and they did not add the money, it's terrible, pay for a Balinese bed, expensive because you only get water and dig for €30, ask for the water for 1:00 p.m., since they didn't bring it either, I had to go and say so. And at the pool bar I found a hair on one finger and the employees in general were not pleasant. Positive: I liked the breakfast for being 3 stars, I asked for direct access to the pool with the apartment and they gave it to me, that the pool is heated (although it needs a good cleaning and renovation, the tile is falling off). The best thing is the proximity to the beach. I hope they improve especially in cleaning. PS: they give you soap, cloths and sponge in a bag. For me, cleanliness is super important. There is a family member who is allergic to mites and had a hard time. There are windows and they have to be cleaned (the curb, the knob, etc...
