Facing Mt. Fuji, this place of noble beauty remains still and serene. Repose in the forest of Kawaguchiko. Trees grown here have returned, their timber crafted for beauty and shelter. The lake laps at the shore, keeping time like a heartbeat. The forest breathes. Stars twinkle and the moon glows calmly. Leave scheduled time to regain nature’s time. Welcome to the forest of Kawaguchiko. All rooms are suites with a view of Mount Fuji and allow guests to admire the mountain scenery which transforms from one season to the next. Guest rooms feature open-air natural hot spring baths lined with volcanic stone from Mount Fuji and eco-friendly bioethanol fireplaces. Bask in the light of the dancing flames as the fragrance of the trees drifts in on the breeze at this forest getaway. We use local ingredients to prepare meals that vary from season to season. Please enjoy Japanese cuisine that can only be enjoyed here alongside Mt. Fuji’s volcanic stone and the aroma of the firewood.

Stayed here for 4 nights in Early December. We had front row seats to Mt Fuji each morning. Rooms were very modern, comfortable, and each component in the room had a thoughtful purpose
The highlight of our stay would definitely have to be the meals that we had in the dining area every breakfast and dinner. Food was of Michelin Star quality - and every meal we had was different , and better than the one before that. Service standards were impeccable - and we were always assigned an English speaking staff to ensure that our needs were communicated easily. The language barrier was not an issue during our stay at all.
Was amazed at how well run service was. We could communicate our requests via our waiters to the front desk, and the front desk would also communicate updates via the waiters to us during meals. I’ve not seen anything like this during my travels, and I’m thoroughly impressed with this
We drove there during our stay, with the parking lot being private and easily accessible to the hotel. Parking was Free for guests staying in hotel.
If ever I visit Kawaguchigo again, I will definitely stay in FuFu

Lake Kawaguchiko was extremely crowded as we arrived on a clear day on a Sunday. Fufu here acted as a perfect sanctuary from that. We got a warm welcome from the staff, and it feels that the service here is friendly, maybe a bit more informal compared to Nikko, but in a good way. The view was superb, while it won’t match that of Ubuya’s, the rest of the stay will be much better. The room we were in showed signs of wear and tear, but was still in a good shape and was tastefully designed and comfortable. F&B was great, they offered an extensive list of premier champagnes, bordeaux wines and premium sake - they even had 3 different versions of Junyodai! If you visit here, you must also pay Morita-san at the bar a visit. He is extremely friendly, funny and makes world class cocktails. The fruit cocktails he made were hands down at least on par with the best Japanese bars in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore. The GM also came to greet us during our meal to check on us. The only reason why we didn’t give a 5-star is that the restaurant could be very noisy at dinner, especially at around 7. It’s partly because of the design of the open-kitchen and the closely placed-together tables, partly because there are more rooms here, and partly because of some unruly guests. We could hear guests speaking Mandarin 3 tables to our left the whole meal, guests speaking Cantonese behind us, and an eastern European guest to our right speaking on the phone at his seat, and some guests to my left watching Mandarin speaking videos with speaker on to my left. I guess that kind of sums up Mt Fuji and the five lakes area in peak autumn foliage season. Room: We stayed in the comfort suite as the better ones got booked out. We were luckily placed on the 3rd floor which gave us a view of both the lake and mt Fuji. I think it won’t be possible to see the lake from the 2nd floor and rooms on the 1st floor won’t have any views to speak of. Please correct me if I’m wrong here.

My wife and I stayed three nights. An outstanding, upscale hotel with an amazing 1/2 board Japanese dining experience. Our spacious, private onsen equipped room, offered sensational views of Mt Fuji. We were fortunate to see it during most days we were there. I’m told, all rooms at Fufu offer Mt Fuji views; however, the higher level rooms offer an even better view. We were on the 4th floor and it was exciting to wake up and see Fuji. Please be aware that Mt Fuji is notorious for not appearing at all or suddenly disappearing behind clouds. Even though I gave the hotel an overall 5 star rating there were a few shortcomings: 1) Although all the staff are extremely friendly and polite, English was somewhat of a problem. If Fufu wants to cater for the English speaking market then they must invest in having staff that are more proficient with the English language. 2) I’m vegan and it took several email exchanges to convince staff that fish or dairy cannot be used. A hotel of this calibre should know . Moreover, even though some of the vegan dishes they served contained soy milk, I requested soy milk to use for coffee- they charged me to purchase it. This was very annoying as a top end hotel should also offer milk alternatives to cow milk.
Now, I must point out two strong positives regarding our dining experiences. The property has master chef Ryuichi IDE, whom we were fortunate to meet during our stay. This man is an incredibly talented chef and most likely of Michelin Star standard. For me, he created the most unbelievable vegan food that was simply top notch and wonderful. My wife ( non-vegan) found his food creations and menu variations for each day, absolutely superb. Fufu isn’t cheap, in fact quite pricey, but well worth it if you want to indulge!

For a luxurious stay with a modern touch, FuFu was a great option. It was spotless, felt brand new, and embellished with the finest furnishings. It doesn't have amenities like a gym, but I appreciated being able to borrow electric bicycles from the hotel, which was also very well maintained. We also had multi-course breakfasts and kaiseki dinners in the hotel, which were good.
Not sure I'd spend the 3k/nights again at this place seeing that there were few amenities, but that was perhaps the price to pay for close proximity to the lake along with top-of-the-line furnishing.

Set in tranquil wooded gardens just above lake Kawaguchiko this is quietly luxurious with a natural feel enhanced by the plants and wood throughout the hotel Rooms are very comfortable and can have a private spring fed onsen with a balcony - go for it for the privacy and comfort Every room overlooks Mount Fuji with uninterrupted views framed by trees around the hotel . At night fire pits are lit and candles are everywhere There are good English speaking staff although the clientele is predominantly discerning Japanese . Service is friendly and informal but very attentive The food that comes as part of the package is of the highest quality , full of flavour and visually stunning . Some dishes are perhaps more challenging and a whole kaiseki dinner brings a lot of food - but they are very flexible to offer alternative choices and dodge food that you’d prefer to avoid On tii hi is basis B I’d want to sample can other Fufu properties

My wife and I are spending our honeymoon in Japan and one of the places we wanted to visit was Mt. Fuji. After extensive research (lol my wife loves doing this), we decided on Fufu Kawaguchiko and it went beyond our expectations! I honestly cannot believe that this place was a "4-star" hotel because everything felt top-class.
- it was very easy to reserve for the chosen room via the hotel's official site. The layout of the page was easy to understand and provided adequate views of the modern and aesthetic design of the hotel. - Overall, each and everyone in Fufu Kawaguchiko made our stay a truly memorable one. They made us feel comfortable and at home, and the Japanese culture of respect and service exuded from their every movement. - The front desk were very helpful (Mako and Yusaku; Kimiko was also a treat to talk with despite the language difference) - The breakfast and dinner staff were very attentive and knowledgable about the food being served (shoutout to May, Shizuka and Rei! Arigato gozaimasu!) - The facilities were amazing! The onsen was my wife's favorite! We also enjoyed the free bicycle rental that they had! - will definitely recommend this place in the future!!

Modern ryokan style accommodation that has wonderful views of Mount Fuji (weather permitting). At night in the spring they set up a bonfire outdoors which is a perfect setting for the scenery. All the rooms come with an attached outdoor hot spring, and those on the higher floors get a view of Mount Fuji as well. Breakfast and dinner are modern japanese style and showcase the wonderful flavors of Japanese cuisine. English is minimally spoken but we did not have any issues regardless.

Could be the best hotel to stay in KawaguchiKo. The view of Mount Fuji from the Lobby and the room on the 4th floor (top floor) is spectacular. The service is very meticulous executed with Japanese perfection. The food both breakfast and dinner by master chef Ryuichi is at the Michelin star level, well presented and tastes very good.

It was our first time in Kawaguchiko and we were glad to have chosen Fufu.
The hotel is surrounded by gorgeous views - from Mt Fuji to lots of greeneries. Check in was completed in the room, where you also get to decide on your meals and activities.
Our room on the 2nd floor was really spacious, clean and so comfortable. Of course, the view of Mt Fuji was the best part.
We were always greeted by the staff we encountered and they were generally helpful although language was sometimes a barrier.
Truly one of the best hotels we have ever stayed, definitely worth the splurge!

5 star luxury plus a private onsen in your room. Staff members are enthusiastic and super helpful.
This ryokan is thoroughly modern and keeps in mind the requirements of a more modern and international clientele. They do not take your shoes as you check in, do not require payment of room rates upfront, etc. It is run more like a modern hotel.
The bar is a cozy corner where we enjoyed drinks before dinner. I only wish that they had more choices of cocktails.
Food here is fantastic. Innovative and very tasty.
Good sleep quality - beds are comfortable and pillows adequate.
All in all, a great stay. The Fufu ryokan chain will be opening new properties in the Nara and Nikko areas. Looking forward to seeing those.
