It was amazing! It was winter, it was cold outside and we still enjoyed our outdoor bath. The room was beautiful and the views amazing! Also the futon was so comfy! It was hard to get up and get going of a morning as I just wanted to stay in bed! We traveled in the off season but still found places... More

We stayed at their dormitory on the 5th floor which previously was a banquet. The restroom is to be shared with others which was disgusting. The cleanliness was below the worst. The only good thing is public onsen that they have, unfortunately, that was the only option or you won't be able to take a shower elsewhere. It's too expensive... More

I stayed at its dormitory/shared bedroom which is at the top floor (5/F). Previously, that was for banquet (as said on its lift). But have been converted to rooms with shared toilet (for both male and female). I chose this hotel because it is just opposite to the Ohike Kouen Park which was both the Start and Finish points for... More

The hotel was so old. Need renovation everywhere. Bath room is dirty and they did not give proper amenities for guests. Receptionist staff's not friendly. I tried onsen here and it was good. Breakfast is good, but you can't choose menu because they already served in table for you. I would think twice to stay here again

I'm staying here for 2 nights as part of a Jewels of Japan guided tour and it's absolutely dreadful. Described as a Ryokan but my room overlooks the air conditioning unit,is brightly lit and has no relaxing atmosphere at all. It has scruffy beige wallpaper, awful minute bathroom with no toiletries whatsoever, and two mattresses on the floor. Food only... More

I have been here in second time with great moments. The nice ambience scene, staff, bath, hot spring All amazing can be found here. The is my first hotel when I visited Kawaguchigo and I found that It's very impressing hotel. I stayed in mixed room on the top floor, the room was cleaned.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Royal Hotel for one night after a long day of hiking mount Fuji. When we arrived at the hotel we were very disappointed. The hotel main lobby and our room smelt like stale cigarettes and the room felt very dirty. The shower curtain was black and mouldy. The room in general felt very... More

Just stopped by for the onsen, which was quite expensive at a 1000 yen each. The onsen itself didn't feel and look clean, neither was the water really hot. Staff was also not very polite. Must be better alternatives for an onsen in this town.

A number of aspects were appealing about this hotel in which we stayed 2 nights. Firstly it was a traditional Japanese hotel with futon style bedding with fantastic views of Mt Fuji. Sleeping of course for westerners was difficult although extra "padding" was available in the cupboard to thicken the bed. The hot springs within the hotel grounds were fantastic... More

It was fun (but uncomfortable) to try sleeping on a traditional Japanese futon on the tatami matting floor, and the room did have a great view of the lake and of Mount Fuji (clouds permitting!) the hotel itself however is very tired and needs a makeover to reach its potential. The dining room is nice and the breakfasts are typical... More
