Was worried about bed bugs that I read in some review. Lo and behold, we got bitten and had at least 9 bites on one arm. Though the ryokan was large and the people are polite and I enjoy the hearty breakfast I seriously think they could do more to protect hotel guest from bites. Not sure if it is...

I read the reviews, the negative and somewhat positive and because if the pics on booking.com decided to give the place a try. My boyfriend and I came back with bed bug bites all over, both sick as dogs and he with a horrible case of pink eye! I thrive on reviews but ONLY to give good ones. I was...

Its rare that you can get the trifecta when it comes to hotels - good accommodation, good value, good location, usually one of those factors has to be sacrificed and its usually cost. Being out in the country side with a lot less options makes it even harder to score this so if you want the other two you need...

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while I was doing the Five Lakes Region. It was fairly nice overall, though you could tell the age from the equipment in the rooms. I had some issues with the AC when I returned to the room after my overnight climb up Mt. Fuji, but was able to get it running....

"Tired" well describes my experience at the Kawaguchiko Hotel. While my visit was fine, I found the rooms to be dated and worn, the baths in need of a renovation, and the staff somewhat indifferent. Again, nothing wrong and my stay was not bad - just everything felt tired. The location is excellent and the property is one of the...

We stayed at the Kawaguchiko Hotel on August 5th while our two sons hiked up Mount Fuji. Our oldest son suffered from altitude sickness and stopped before reaching the top and our youngest son kept going on without him. As a result they separated and we lost contact because wifi on the mountain is spotty. Our oldest son came down...

We only stayed one night in July as part of a hiking trip up Mount Fuji. This is perfectly located for any trips. It overlooks the lake and is a 10 minute walk from the station to get the train or the bus to the mountain. Also, close the boat trips and the cable car. We arrived early and were...

位于市中心!方便进出! 房间宽敞舒适! 看山赏湖,视野很好! 附近爬山,健行,游湖……,都很方便! It is a very good hotel, Japan style but a little old. It is like living in the forest. The room view is very nice and comfortable. You can stay at the room and drink a cup of tea and relax ... , through the whole day!

The hotel located in a very nice area but it's old and needs lots of renovation. If you plan to come here go for the Japanese style rooms it's the only 1 with the lake view the other rooms have no view In the hotel they were nice they agreed to change my room

Given that the reviews on TripAdvisor on this hotel are on pretty much opposite poles, and despite have some really bad ones, we gave this hotel a try. And overall all, it was a pretty pleasant experience. Just manage your expectations: - IT IS OLD. And needs some renovation. But it is what you can expect from a centuries-old log...
