Unbeatable views with Lake Kawaguchiko in front and Mount Fuji behind the hotel which can be enjoyed from the room (depending on which view you get) and the rooftop! We were lucky to have a clear morning with a fantastic view! Excellent in room dinner service with delicious food that takes into consideration most dietary restrictions upon request. Great public onsen facilities - tried both the indoors and outdoors ! Everything is well thought of and provided - from yakuta (robes), slippers, toiletries, pumice stones and even popsicles to cool down if needed! Overall a lovely experience will return again if given the opportunity.

This traditional ryokan offers us quintessential Japanese experiences. Some highlights are the room (708) with outdoor onzen bath tub & Mount Fuji view, kaiseki in-room dinner, foot bath on the rooftop with Mount Fuji view, public onzen and variety of breakfast. The room is decent but towels have some smells. Parking is convenient just opposite the hotel. Most of staffs are attentive & have service-minded.

One of the best experience of my trip in Japan. I had the solo room with a view of Mt. Fuji and a private onsen to enjoy. The room in itself was very clean and the traditional futon to sleep in was very comfortable. The diner was very delicious and with a lot of varied dishes, a good way to enjoy Japanese cuisine and the staff serving the diner was very kind and helpful to explain the different dishes and how to enjoy them. As the hotel is just by lake Kawaguchiko you can enjoy a stroll around it or go to the rooftop in the ashiyu and enjoy the view. Would definitely recommend this hotel as I would probably book it again if I ever come back to Kawaguchiko.

I stayed at this traditional Japanese inn (ryokan or 旅館) for two nights. I rate this exceptional property a five in every area. Everything about my experience was spectacular! I was assigned room 710. My nightly rate was $321.97 USD per night. At check-out, I was charged a “hot springs tax” of $2.03 USD. Service - All staff, especially the front desk team, bellhop, shuttle bus driver, housekeepers, restaurant staff, and room assistants were helpful, polite, and very friendly. I did not encounter anyone who spoke English well, but they tried very hard and were always there to assist as best as they could. They provide you with authentic omotenashi at every turn! Room - My room was on floor 7. It was as traditional as it gets! It had an unobstructed view of Mount Fuji. I LOVED everything about the room. It was huge and sparkling clean. So clean that the room literally looked and felt brand new. The bedroom floor is made of tatami (畳), they provide you with a yukata (浴衣), obi (帯) and slippers, you enter the room through sliding shōji (障子) screen doors, the futon bed is on the floor, and it had a private natural onsen (温泉) on an outdoor balcony. The futon bed on the floor took some getting used to, but it worked out just fine. The AC made the room freezing cold. There was a mini-refrigerator, small flat screen television, hot water machine, loose leaf teas, technologically advanced lighting, fast wi-fi, seating area for four with two tables, and a phone. The technologically advanced toilet was behind a separate door with a mini sink. The bathroom had a dual vanity, magnified mirror attached to the wall, and luxurious products. You walk in socks or barefoot in the room. You are given slippers to wear when you leave the room and are walking around the hotel. The shower was in a separate room with a tub. It was nothing like I have seen before. It was a complete wet steam room, meaning you closed the shower room door, and you were able to get the floor and walls wet. It was incredible. There was a small stool to sit on and a bucket to pour water over your head. The water pressure was extremely powerful, and the water temperature was perfect. Shampoo, conditioner, and soap were in dispensers. Hotel Information - The hotel has 51 rooms and 8 floors. The lobby is large and somewhat dated. It has separate male and female ofuros (お風呂), a rooftop ashiyu (足湯), coin laundry (for a fee / available 24 hours / there are two machines that are wash and dry combined), and table tennis. The hotel offers a shiatsu massage service where the therapist comes to your room (reservation required / additional cost). Check-in is 3:00 PM and check-out is 10:00 AM. They are pretty strict with these times. I arrived at around 1:15 PM. The front desk agent began the check-in process, the bellhop took my luggage, and she asked me to come back at 3:00 PM. I arrived at 3:00 PM, my luggage was already in my room, and I was given my key and escorted to my room. Super convenient. They use traditional door keys here. At check-in, you will be given a card to select which options you do not want for dinner (for example, if you do not like raw food, you would check that box, if you do not want alcohol, you would check that box, etc.) Floor 1 - front desk, restrooms, and souvenir shop (hanaerabi). Floor M1 - outdoor terrace (konoha) overlooking Lake Kawaguchiko, 24-hour lounge with self-serve vending machines that offer complimentary orange juice, coffee, and cocoa, self-serve wine vending machines (for a fee), and smoking room. They give you coins at check-in for the orange juice, coffee, and cocoa self-serve vending machines. If you want more coins, just ask at the front desk. Floor 2 - restrooms and guest rooms. Floor 3 - breakfast hall (moegi), coin laundry, ice, microwave, restrooms, and guest rooms. Floor 4 - public onsen bath / jacuzzi / sauna for men (kiramekinoyu), open-air bath, relaxation room, lounge, banquet hall (setsugekka), esthetic salon (mitsuki) - reservation required for spa services, karaoke party room, restroom, and guest rooms. Towels are not provided at the bath. You bring a towel from your room. You are not allowed to wear any clothes in the public onsen baths. Floor 5 - public onsen bath / jacuzzi / sauna for ladies (tokimekinoyu), open-air bath, relaxation room, lounge, ryotei (hanagoyomi), yuagari lounge (tokiwasure), restroom, and guest rooms. Towels are not provided at the bath. You bring a towel from your room. You are not allowed to wear any clothes in the public onsen baths. Floor 6 – private family bath (nagominoyu) - by reservation only / rental fee for 50 minutes, and guest rooms. Floor 7 - guest rooms. Floor 8 - guest rooms and access to the sky rooftop observatory and rooftop foot bath (waku-waku). Small towels are provided at the rooftop foot bath. Incredible unobstructed views of Mount Fuji. The breakfast buffet and nightly dinner (kaiseki - 会席) were included. The breakfast buffet was wonderful…..bountiful, vegetarian options, healthy options, traditional Japanese options, Western options, hot options, cold options, juices, salad bar, cut fresh fruit (dragon fruit, apple, orange, pineapple, grapefruit), noodles, rice, etc. Everything was beautifully presented and very fresh. Breakfast is served from 7:15 AM to 9:00 AM. The nightly dinner was sent to your room at a time selected by you. A room attendant would arrive to set everything up at your designated time. Dinner was exceptional. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle bus to and from Kawaguchiko station. No reservation is required. Kawaguchiko station is about a half mile or an easy 15-minute walk to/from the hotel. I walked to the hotel when I arrived and I took the shuttle to the train station when I left. Location - The perfect location in Fujikawaguchiko! Fujikawaguchiko is a town in Yamanashi prefecture. It is a laid-back lakeside resort town that sits at the northern foothills of Mount Fuji. The hotel is directly on Lake Kawaguchiko in Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. Lake Kawaguchiko is the second largest of the Fuji Five Lakes. There is a boat tour and water-related activities available on the lake. There is a 24-hour convenience store (Lawson) next to the hotel, along with a few restaurants and a few souvenir shops. The Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway (cable car up a mountain) is within walking distance of the hotel. This is the type of town you visit to unwind and relax! I have traveled to 46 countries and have stayed at many wonderful hotels, motels, inns, resorts, and airbnbs. This ryokan ranks as one of my most favorite places I have ever stayed! Highly recommend!

A truly magical experience. This Ryokan may be expensive but it was very very worth it. We booked a room with a private Onsen and views of Mt Fuji….this did not disappoint! The room was a traditional Ryokan with straw flooring, sliding doors and beds on the floor. As mentioned we had our private Onsen, however, there was also communal Onsen separated male/female. A member of staff made us green tea upon arrival and we were made to feel very welcome and attended. She also gave us Yukata (type of summer kimono to wear about the hotel). No on site restaurant but the local area has many restaurants surrounding the hotel just a short walk away. The roof top terrace has views both of the lake and of Mt Fuji, as well as a relaxing foot bath. I have been trying to find Yukata back in the UK as they were very comfortable.

We stayed for 1 night at this hotel. Selected this hotel as it is can see mount fuji in the room. It is also very close to the Kachikachi . The foot bath at the roof is fantastic, you can enjoy it with mount fuji view. However, the room need to be upgraded.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The in room Kaseiki dinner was great. Excellent service and high quality food. Had a mountain view room which was nice to wake up to. Only recommendation is don't go in the summer if you are planning to go for best view of Mt Fuji. The iconic white ice cap on the mountain peak is melted. I would give it 5 stars if they can manage the insects on the rooftop footbath area at night. Though I did have a room with mountain view and private open air bath, I did wake up at sunrise and went up to the rooftop for a great view of Mt Fuji and the Lake. And insects naturally are gone in the morning.

Konansou was one of our highlights on our recent trip to Japan. My husband and I, along w our couple friends, stayed for two nights. The staff was so warm and friendly, especially Shirai at the front desk. She was incredibly patient and helpful as we figured out our bus/train tickets. They have a shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko station, which made getting around in the rain and with bags really easy. (Tip: there is a pay phone at the station if you need to call them when you get in— there are instructions and the numbers of local hotels posted) The food was amazing! Ikeda was our server for our in room dinners, and he was kind and knowledgeable in all the different dishes and how to eat them. I was blown away by the attention to detail and variety of food. It was beautiful. It was our anniversary and we received a special gift— thank you!! Breakfast was a buffet and had a huge selection! It can get busy but there is a lot of seating. Our room was huge and had a beautiful view of the lake and its own private onsen. We enjoyed the quiet and location, which was easy to walk to. The public onsen had so many amenities and was spacious too— not sure if I was lucky, but I was the only one there! We also got to do karaoke, play table tennis, and did our laundry. There was also a rooftop foot spa, where got views of Mt Fuji! Everything you need is here!

Absolutely fantastic service, experience, and views!! The highlight of our trip. The view from our room of the mountains was stunning. We did a private onsen for 50 min with a view of mt fuji that was perfect. Upon arrival we got green tea to our rooms and a whole multi-course dinner delivered to our rooms and set up in a traditional way. We stayed in the Japanese style room. We also got massages to our rooms. Everything was 10/10 cannot rave enough about the service - they all deserve a raise
