We stayed here for a family trip with our children, who are now adults and live in different places. We were searching for accommodations on a hotel website with the aim of relaxing in the hotel and watching Mt. Fuji, and when we happened to come across KUKUNA, which had a cancellation, we immediately made a reservation. ・Has an open-air bath ・A direct view of Mt. Fuji ・Has a balcony ・Proper dinner ・Breakfast is a buffet ・Has a private bath ・A clean hotel ・Attentive service from the staff We were looking for various requests, and this hotel surprisingly met all of them. Not only did we meet our search criteria, but our impressions of the stay also included the cleanliness, comfort, service, and food. As soon as we arrived, the staff who came to pick us up from the car made us think, "I'm glad I chose this place," and that feeling continued until we checked out. At the front desk, in the restaurant, and in various other scenes, the staff's polite service, which conveyed their feelings, made me think that it felt like a fresh version of the Ritz-Carlton, and when I heard that the owner had worked at the Ritz-Carlton in Hawaii, I understood. We had a really good time. Thank you for kindly accepting our request for a surprise birthday cake for the children.

We absolutely loved this hotel. Our room (one with a private onsen on the terrace) was huge and had everything we could possibly have needed - fridge/freezer with complimentary sparkling wine and water. Tea, coffee and biscuits. Nightly chocolates. Tons of bathroom amenities and a range of clothing to wear in the resort and in the room.
Our private onsen was the perfect temperature and had a fantastic view of Fujisan.
The bed was huge and comfy.
Lighting was really intelligently placed and there were plenty of plug sockets too.
The food in the restaurant (4 courses plus anything you want from the buffet!) was excellent both nights and they kindly adapted one course to suit us as we don’t eat meat.
Breakfast was generous too with a range of Japanese, other Asian and Western options.
There were few Westerners staying when we were there. The English language skills of the staff is variable but with smiling, guessing and google translate we all managed to make ourselves understood and we found everyone very friendly and patient with our horrible Japanese!
All in all, our stay was perfect and we hope to return one day soon!

An inn with a spectacular view standing on the shores of Lake Kawaguchi.
From the rooms and open-air bath, you can enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi.
For dinner, in addition to appetizers, soup, and a main course, you can enjoy a half buffet, which allowed you to control your portion size, which was appreciated.
For the main course, you could choose from beef, pork, or spiny lobster, which made the meal even more enjoyable.
The hot spring is a calcium-sodium sulfate chloride spring, a colorless and transparent water with a pH of 7.47, and felt to have very good heat retention.
The facilities were clean, the staff were friendly, and it was a very satisfying inn.
As expected, this inn is worthy of being included in the top 100 hot spring inns selected by professionals.

The day before yesterday, my mother became sick in the dressing room, and the other guests and staff there were very kind to her. They brought meals to our room, and even made us porridge, which wasn't on the menu, which made us very happy. They also said we could eat whenever we wanted, which was very helpful. Thanks to them, she is feeling much better now, and we would like to thank the staff for coming out to check out with concern. We will take better care of ourselves next time and visit again. We look forward to your continued support.

Every time I stayed at this hotel, I realized how excellent it was. In late April, I visited the "Wind Hotel KUKUNA" in the fresh air of fresh greenery, and had an unexpected accident. I used the "car charging equipment" on the day I arrived. However, the next morning, when I tried to open the hood to unplug the cord, it would not open. I realized that the hood would not open because I closed it yesterday without using the protector to protect the cord. Now it was a difficult journey, and the dealer came the next day to open it for me, and I was able to go home. During that time, the manager and other employees of KUKUNA visited the parking lot many times and tried again. I am very grateful for the kind response I received when I decided to stay another night. This time, I learned the news from the "Travel & Life" booklet that the hotel was selected as the "2022 Best Service Hotel" from among the approximately 3,600 inns and hotels affiliated with the JTB Agreement Inns and Hotels Federation. Congratulations. I will visit everyone at the hotel again soon. Thank you very much for your help.

Everything was great, good view of mt. Fuji from room, but there is no body lotion (best room type with private onsen, ¥88,000 per night), have to go the public onsen to get them.

一切都很好,房間有很好的富士山景觀,最麻煩是房間沒有潤膚露(訂的是最優的帶私人風呂房型,房價每晚¥88,000),潤膚露只放在公眾溫泉,這是唯一麻煩的地方。

I managed to make a reservation two months in advance and stayed with my mother, who had been battling an illness for a long time.
Upon arrival, they immediately arranged for a wheelchair, and even though I only inquired two days before my stay, they prepared a message plate to celebrate my mother's birthday, and they went out of their way to cater to every need.
The room was clean and bright, the food was delicious, and best of all, the view of Mt. Fuji from the open-air bath was magnificent. I was very satisfied with everything.
I'm grateful for the smiles and attention to detail of the staff.
I'd like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

The female staff member at check-in had a lovely smile and was very nice.
The room felt small.
There was hair on the in-house clothing and
There were a lot of fallen leaves in the open-air bath in the room.
It was also disappointing that we couldn't choose the time for dinner and it was decided to be an early one.
Dinner was very delicious.
When I asked a staff member outside about the shuttle bus to go see the autumn leaves, he was very rude and I got angry.
It was a shame that the birthday cake was also melted.
Overall, it was disappointing that the service level was low considering the price.

Ever wanted to enjoy your private onsen with view on Mount Fuji.
Look no further, this is the place to be.
The luxury suites offer a great experience; although with a very small bathroom.
Though you'll get fully compensated with the extraordinary view from your private onsen on to Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko.
We were lucky to enjoy a clear view on to Mt Fuji combined with the Sakura. Extraordinary.
In case you're not planning on paying the big bucks, would recommend to go for a different hotel. Simply because the rest of the hotel and its amenities are not on par.
Limited breakfast options, limited facilities, a bit further away from the city. Dinners varied along our stay; some were excellent, some others disappointed.
For Western visitors, English language skills aren't available all through the staff. So it becomes somewhat difficult to communicate with the staff on occasions.

It was the most satisfying hotel I have ever stayed in in a foreign country!
It was wonderful to see the staff chatting happily and gently, and being very kind and accommodating!
My favorite hawaiian music was always playing and I was always soothing.
And the biggest emotion is Mt. Fuji right in front of you! It was a very impressive view!
I definitely want to come back here again! It was a windy terrace KUKUNA that made you think, “Wow!”

Can someone please let me know the email address to contact Hotel Kakuna.

No, all rooms do not come with a private onsen. You have to request a special suite to have the private onsen. There is a public onsen that is available if your room does not have one.
Answer from YTCHENG

Positive. There are several shuttle rounds from 8 am to 9 am in the morning as this will be the busy check-out time for their lodgers. Do register your requirement prior to check-out.
