We, a group of 4 from Malaysia stayed here for 2 nights. Booked the dinner as well
We stayed in the garden view rooms as all the Fuji view rooms were fully booked
Rooms are spacious with heater and all the usual amenities plus a balcony. The hotel is in the retro style of the 1970’s, regretfully no art works on walls or anywhere but clean, spacious and the staff polite and helpful
The convenient shop is small.
The onsen is at the basement, with both indoor and outdoor pools but infortunately the outdoor pool is covered so you dont get the falling snow on your face.
The STAR of this hotel is the garden and the location. Huge with magnificient trees especially the many ancient cherry blossom trees. Even in winter I can imagine how bewitchingly beautiful the garden will be in the sakura season
Do spend time walking around this hotel garden, which is uncommonly large by most Japan hotel standards, well maintained and there are paths to the lake and even a tennis court. Its extremely private and a fab place to sit and enjoy the solitude in this park like setting which is a rare find
Garden enthusiasts DO take note. My 5 star rating is bcos of this fabulous garden and dinner
The breakfast is good but the dinner is divine! Choose the Japanese dinner. My 1st time, fine high-end Japanese dinner. The high standard of decoration of the food and utensils is visually stunning. And was delicious too. The other dinner was French with a Japanese twist, good but not memorable.
There is a hourly bus shuttle to the town train station. We took this on checking out after returning out hired car the previous night.
Did i mention, that even if you stay in the garden view, Mt Fuji can be glimpsed in the breakfast room, garden and the 5th floor panorama enclosure, so its unnecessary to fork out extra ¥¥¥ for the Fuji view rooms
Had an unforgetable stay here and planning to come back here during the sakura season

We stayed in japanese traditional room with Mount Fuji View for 3 days 2 nights. The room is considered small for 4 of us but still ok as we wouldn't stay in room for whole day. In such case, onsen is more important for this stay. If 4 adults, I would not recommend this room. There are bigger rooms available too.

I liked the breakfast with Mt Fuji View and onsen at the basement. We liked the view and onsen most. We felt disappointed as the weather was too cloudy to spot Mt Fuji on the first day of the trip but the sky was superb clear on 2nd night to next morning.

Overall, the stay was pleasant with friendly staffs and quiet surrounding. It has shuttle bus and spacious parking lots too. We didn't take the shuttle bus since a rental car is highly recommended to travel around especially the 5 lakes with unexpected scenic views.

We spent two nights in a traditional mountain view room and the third in a western style garden room. The views are to die for - Mt Fuji was perfectly visible for three days, and the view from the garden room of the lake and gardens was just lovely with all of the autumn Colours. We had a great stay. The hotel is about 10minutes from Kawaguchiko station by car, but the hotel has a shuttle. The hotel isn’t new, but it has a great charm to it, and fabulous Japanese bath facilities. Food options for dinner are limited and a bit expensive, but the breakfast is good

This lovely hotel (its a bit dated, but everything is clean and very nice) is right on the lake, and very quiet. Its 10 minutes driving distance from the Kawaguchi-Ko bus stand/train station and there is a free hotel shuttle every hour.

I would definitely go for rooms with a view - either of the lake, or of Fujisan. We went for rooms with lake view, and very much enjoyed it. The rooms are big and very comfortable, with a desk, an armchair and a sofa. There is also a small balcony, with amazing views of the lake. Its so peaceful, especially in the early morning or during sunset. The hotel is located in a large garden.

There is an indoor and lovely outdoor onsen, where you can bath in the warm water whilst seeing bamboo and hearing birds. Breakfast is a good buffet. The restaurant for dinner is rather expensive, so i would recommend eating in one of the few restaurants in the small town.

We stayed in a Tatami room for two nights and this was the worst hotel of our three week Japan trip. The room was ok - if a little basic, and the bedroom area (which you could close off) was constantly heated from the floor, for which there were no controls at all, so even in freezing January - it was too hot. The reception area is just a little odd and the breakfast is industrial. The bathroom was particularly strange, a plastic caravan style unit. We did get a great view on the day we left of Mt Fuju, so I suppose thats all that really matters...

My family had a nice 3 nights stay at Fuji View Japanese Room. Their room was nice and spacious with a wonderful balcony overlooking the garden. We loved their onsen (indoor and outdoor) at basement. They serve delicious buffet breakfast with a good variety although the menu repeats daily. There is a viewing platform for Mt Fuji at the top floor. Hotel shuttle bus provides hourly transport to Kawaguchiko Stn was pretty efficient. Surrounding was very peaceful with only couple of local small restaurants that opens till 830pm. Overall, a very nice place for relaxing vacation

We won't forget our visit to Fuji View Hotel, drinking in Mt Fuji from our room, the dining areas, the top floor panorama lounge, and the wooded and beach hikes around the hotel.

You really can see it from your room if you get that option, and you can't stop looking at it.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. There are three nice available public baths for each gender, including water jets on two. Get the breakfast, there's nowhere else to eat around, and the buffet is top notch. Lovely, romantic 8-course dinner in the restaurant. Bring an extension cord, there's no power outlet by the bed.

In all, one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had.

Booked the room with Fuji View and was able to see Mt Fuji early in the morning between 6-8am before the clouds cover it. The breakfast is nice but you do have to take your breakfast by 9.30am. Before they close the buffet. The room is spacious for 4 people. There is an observation deck where you can still catch Mt Fuji even though you didn’t book Fuji view rooms. The course dinner in the package was good the first night but not the 2nd night and we felt dinner was rushed because the staff wants to go home. Tempura was served cold. The hotel even though old was quite well maintained. John Lenin and Yoko Ono stayed here in 1978. The gentlemen at the front desk tries their best to help you even though their English is not very good. Do book the shuttle bus to Kawaguchiko early for the morning sessions. There is a lake and a garden that you can stroll around behind the hotel.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on 3-5 January 2023. I stayed in traditional Japanese room facing Mount Fuji. It was nice experience. The hotel is outdated but very well maintained. From Kawaguchiko station, it takes around 10 minutes by car (around 1000 yen by taxi). There is shuttle bus available every hour to and from the station. It has vast garden and the lake is just behind the hotel. The breakfast is good. For dinner I went to Fuji Tempura Idaten and Nabeya. I would love to stay at this hotel again if I have any chance.

Mountain view was worth the extra money as Mount Fuji appeared straight in front of us! Spacious rooms; coin operated laundry service; onsen; close to lake for a walk. Unfortunately, the hotel had late start breakfast opening hours (7:30 - 9:30am) which we didn't know when we booked our room (therefore couldn't use as we were leaving before then).
