We stayed for four nights and found the budget ibis met our needs. It wasn't perfect, but given the price (just under $70/night) it definitely exceeded our initial expectations, especially having read some of the other more negative reviews on here. The location is pretty good, close to both the airport and the CBD and really easy to get to Newtown and Marrickville. The room wasn't big, and the bathroom is very tiny, but it was clean and the bed comfy. The reception staff were helpful when we interacted with them. The cleaning staff were also helpful, although room service is only on request. If you had mobility issues or stairs are a problem I'd recommend reaching out to the hotel for one of the accessible rooms on the ground floor. The only real negative was that there was sometimes noise from outside including planes from the airport, but it wasn't that loud and we expected this given the location. Some suggestions for improvement would be somewhere to store toiletries in the shower area as there wasn't really a shelf and we had to put our shower gel/shampoo etc on the floor, and also a way to have the blind partially closed as we could only have it fully open or closed.

I stayed for six nights. The only reason I booked this hotel was because it is close to my friend's house.
If you are a solo traveller then it's perfect. Rooms are ok with coffee and tea provided. The bathrooms are too small but also the price point is low so you can't complain.
Had issues with cleaning my room however the lady at reception was very helpful and sorted it out right away.
Being a solo traveller it's affordable for me and close to St Peter's train station which makes it easier to travel to Town hall and city.
Located in-between KFC and McDonald's.

Positives- Excellent location to get to the airport. 10 minute walk from the station to get to the city. Comfy bed and a warm shower. Next to fast food chains if you arrive late and need some food. Free luggage storage at all times so perfect for arriving early in the morning before check in and leaving late after check out. Bus stop to the city also located directly outside. Milk, tea, hot chocolate and coffee also provided for free.
Negatives- there is NO LIFT so prepare to tackle a lot of stairs like we had to do with 30kg suitcases! Our mugs were filthy on arrival and it’s noisy due to the location and the sink is located out of the bathroom? The WiFi also did not work despite it being advertised as free WiFi provided. It’s ideal for 1-3 nights. 7/10

I recently stayed at ibis budget St Peters and had a great experience for the price, giving it an 8/10. The location is fantastic—close to public transport, a short drive from Sydney Airport, and within easy reach of shops and fast-food outlets. It made getting around super convenient. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making check-in smooth and hassle-free. They were always available to help with any questions and even gave me some great local recommendations. The room itself was small but clean and comfortable, with fresh linens and a decent bed, which was all I really needed for a short stay. Despite being a budget hotel, it provided excellent value for money. However, the bathroom was quite compact, and I can see how that might be a downside for some guests. Additionally, there are limited amenities—no mini-fridge in the room and no elevator, which could be inconvenient for those with heavy luggage. That said, for the price, I was happy with my stay. If you’re looking for a simple, affordable place to sleep in a convenient location with friendly service, ibis budget St Peters is a solid choice. I would definitely consider staying here again.

We’ve stayed at Ibis budget plenty in the UK and it’s normally in the region of £30-40 a night and similar to a travelodge. Not the most glamorous but at least it’s clean and fine to sleep in.
This one was nothing short of gross. It’s a modular building that must of been put together 10-15 years ago and very cheaper quick accomodation. It’s in the middle of a maccas and KFC drive through. It still cost $335 for 3 nights so not even that cheap.
The rooms are tiny, have sticky floors, thick dust under the bed, stains duvets, and ours even had an old maccas cup with drink in it at eye level. It’s been a LONG time since this place had a proper clean. I wore shoes the entire time which was a right pain if you wanted to go to the toilet in the night.
The bathroom is tiny and on a raised step with the shower basically in the toilet so when you shower everywhere gets wet. The sink is then in the main room and they don’t provide a soap here.
The window looked directly onto the drive through so had to have the blind shut at all times with no light getting into the room.
The fridge if on at night was very loud and also had to switch all plug sockets out at they buzzed.
On day 2 we run out of soap for the shower completely and we’re told just that the hotel had run out of soap so we couldn’t get anymore.
Also worth noting there is no lift, stairs are creepy, you can hear anyone talking in the corridor and the people above you like they’re in the room.
Anyway, this place is gross key message is don’t stay here!

Went on a solo trip and stayed for one night on a layover from the nearby airport, which happened to be very noisy and disruptive. Almost as disruptive as the other guests staying at the venue at the same time as I was. It would be reasonable to assume there was a school trip being held as there was often many high school aged children out and about within the halls at very inappropriate hours of the night (stayed up rather late listening to the sounds of kids running as late as 1:30am!) I also was awoken very early to the sound of musical instruments coming from neighbouring rooms, later found to be sourced from the school children who seemed to be on a group band excursion. These instrument noises were starting as early as 7:00am which was very disruptive (I cannot imagine those school children got much sleep!) I tried to make use of the amenities such as the provided breakfast bar, only to find it had been inhabited by the school group in the morning, because of this inconvenience, I was forced to purchase food from the airport meaning that the cost was significantly raised (considering the hotels provided breakfast bar is available free of charge). Overall a bit disappointed with the quality of service provided and the staff's lack of ability or care to control the other school aged guests throughout my stay.

Even though this is a budget hotel its horrible. Lights shine in the door under and on the side , the lino floors gives it a cold and hospital feeling. Ibis enfield had carpet. St. Peters is noisy too aircon wether hot or cold prevents you from a peaceful rest , I did not sleep. The fridge is noisy also and the smoke alarm light flashes all night. I did not sleep I tossed and turned all night. Whats the point considering this is a two star hotel its expensive. Why pay $85 when you can pay $100 and get a more comfortable nights sleep. You dont get shampoo or conditioner you get paper cups . Plus the rooms are tiny. Honestly you may as well spend $20-30 more and get a room twice the size with a proper bath room real coffee cups comfortable sleep a bit more luxury. This hotel is not worth more then say $40. They are making a massive profit fitting in heaps of rooms and still making good money its like staying in a ship. Total rip off. Oh and delivers to KFC and Maccas which are on either side start around 3am with beep beep noises etc plus the noise of aeroplanes and traffic on the pronceds highway. Not good value at all. Just discusting.

I am very disappointed receiving your feedback Mishdvsmusic. I am sorry the hotel did not meet your expectations. We would have loved the opportunity to discuss this with you whilst you were here, even if it was in the middle of the night as we want all of our guests to feel comfortable during their stay. I can see your review for the ibis Budget Sydney Airport and you did not enjoy your time there either. In future I would suggest staying at an ibis hotel as I know their facilities will fit you needs perfectly for a comfortable nights sleep. Thank you for sharing your feedback. Kind Regards, Roya

Really basic amenities. Stayed as we attended a concert nearby. Came with another party and had two rooms. Beds were comfortable, with the sheets and towels clean. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Close to public transport and self parking at $10 per night was quite reasonable.
Room could really do with a deep clean. Aircon and air filter in the shower looked as though it was growing something (mould build up/fungus?). Walls and TV were dirty. Other party's room was in the same condition. No soap provided to wash hands. Might of been nice to have a powerpoint or charging port next to the be and perhaps a hair dryer, however got away without it on this occasion. The walls are thin as well and had woken several times

My Wife and I were in search for a cheap hotel for one night before jetting off on our honeymoon tomorrow but we didn’t realise that cheap meant not being a clean environment! With the walls having mould growing on parts of the wall & ceiling and the worst of it being under the air conditioning unit. But unfortunately it didn’t stop there with being absolutely gross and disgusting with the room having cobwebs around the window, aircon and the fire alarm…. Then the worst thing was the pillows being covered in yellow stains that was the final straw! We extremely disappointed and upset with the condition of the room that someone thought it would be okay for someone to stay in. We are now out of pocket $109 for the room we didn’t even stay in and the cost of another room at a new hotel as the Ibis Budget St. Peters wouldn’t refund the money for the room as we booked through Qantas. We get it it’s a cheap room but no matter the price it should be clean, we have stayed at cleaner camping accommodations. Don’t believe me see the attached photos.

I agree with the previous poster -- I was quoted $15 for a one way transfer on the shuttle. I imagine that rate goes down for more people but I haven't verified that. Compared to the shuttle, an Uber or taxi might not more expensive. I'm also not sure how flexible the shuttle would be - I think I was being quoted service at hourly intervals when i wanted to travel from the hotel to the airport. It really didn't suit.
The hotel did recommend a shuttle (sorry that I cannot remember which one), so I would call them for the number and then call the shuttle about the arrangements at the airport, the costs etc. Then you'll know.
You can also get quotes from various websites estimating the cost of Uber or a taxi.
There are plenty of shuttle services that will take you to the hotel, but the ones I looked at were more expensive than the one recommended by the hotel.
I ended up using two public transport buses to get to the airport from the hotel. It involved a walk at Rockdale station, was OK and in my case cost me all of $2.50 (concession rate). If you take buses, you avoid paying the airport tax that the state government is so fond of slugging travellers with at the airport railway stations.
Early check in would only be available if they weren't sold out the previous night. You would have to check that morning or book the night before as well, so you can be sure of an early bed.
There are more places to choose from in the St Peters area.
