This is originally a MTDC resort, which has been leased by a group of businessmen form Kolhapur. The entire property is spaced with trees and open spaces and is quite far from the hustle bustle of the town. The rooms are clean, but the furnishings are old. The air-conditioned rooms have a huge verandah in front of the room, where you can sit and talk and get together. They also have dormitories for large groups or families. The food is good and is freshly made to order as per your requirements. The vegetables are fresh from the farms and the mutton is specially good. An excellent space for a cheap short stay.
I traveled to Panhala with family in May. While booking the hotel, we were a bit doubtful about whether the hotel would be clean, quiet and good to live in (their website has no pictures or information). But the moment we arrived there, all that changed! The rooms were in excellent condition, clean, and peaceful to live in (we'd booked the Delux AC room). It had hot water, DTH TV, a good AC. We were warned that there might be power cuts, but during our entire stay, the electricity was on almost 90% of the time. The hotel itself doesn't look like much from the outside (the plants are a bit overgrown and the internal roads are all gravel roads). But the rooms were very nice. The hotel doesn't have room service. But one can walk to the mess near the hotel gate in the morning, afternoon or at night (till 9pm) and have a great breakfast, lunch or dinner. All attractions around the hotel are at walking distance including the Phul Rani ( a small toy train like vehicle for children), a botanical garden (it has a trail leading out of it). All in all, a great hotel to stay at for families, couples and small groups! It has a very competitive rate as well, and so is very affordable.…
