After climbing up the cobbled steps towards the best view of the magical mists descending over the rice terraces and quaint, hillside homes, the local guide led us into the Ping An restaurant for an authentic meal. We had seen the local Chinese selling bamboo bark filled with sticky rice, but were a little wary of tasting it, not knowing...

Do yourself a favour and ask for the TOP floor. We were on the first and as this place is not insulated flooring wise, we could hear every step like a loud thump above us and the restaurant below had a get together with screams of loud laughter and shouting till midnight. The TV had no English Channel. That was...

This place can be reached after a steep climb over small pathways. Porters will carry your luggage up. The wooden hotel is charming and the view over the village and the rice fields from the room terrace impressive. The rooms are not big but OK, the food in the restaurant is variable. If you have time try the 3-4 hour...

Decided to dine at this restaurant for lunch to have a change from the food provided by the hotel we are staying in.. Lots of foreigners I guess they come in along with the tour guides. We ordered for the green beans which we found hair in. The server was quick enough to offer a replacement and taking it off...

Again stayed here as part of tour- what an amazing village. Situated in the mountains surrounded by the Dragons backbone -. Tour bus dropped us off at the entrance to the village and just as you thought we can't walk any more or any higher we did. The hotel is beautiful, clean, spacious, bright and fresh. This is the first...

Spent one night here and sorry did not spend another night as the setting in the village clinging to the rice terraces is just magnificent! Steep walk up to the village from the end of the road brings you to the village and this establishment is well located therein affording magnificent views as well as easy access to the various...

One of the higher guesthouses and what is lost in walking further up the hillside and in porterage is more than compensated with wonderful views from the rooms. Stayed as part of a package so cant comment on cost of rooms but food was excellent and very reasonable (chicken with peanuts and sweet sour pork were our favourites) matched with...

I've only been here for meals, so can't say much about the hotel service. The good: The food is good, better than in other places. On the backside there is a nice terrace with a wonderful view. Belgian beer for the hotter days or colder nights. It's service is quick. The bad: The restaurant is quite big and hosts often...

Six adults in my family stayed here one night. The rooms were quite satisfactory, not large, but typical for the village. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast, and the staff was always polite and friendly. For a little adventure, we tried the snake wine, which wasn't bad. Our rooms had balconies, and we enjoyed morning tea while sitting outside.

After traveling about 3 weeks through China we reached the Longji Rice Terraces in Ping-An. Walking to the hotel will take about 20 to 30min and it is steep up. Use the Luggage Caring Service from the locals, most elderly women/men. Some of the group felt sorry for these old ladies carrying their heavy luggage. They ran up the hills...
